feeling ko may mga mahihina talaga sa grammar; i think it has something to do w/ brainside chorva,, haha diba yung left and right brain,, the way some people are not so smart w/ math/logic..

"I'm jealous" or "I envy you"? What's the difference mga sis?

Jealousy is inggit, envy is want.

i.e.
I'm jealous of your long legs. = Naiinggit ako sa long legs mo.
I envy your long legs. = Gusto ko rin ng long legs.

ang very common na napansin ko ay yung paggamit ng DID.  i guess komo past tense ang DID, yung iba ginagawang past tense then yung next verb.
example, instead of 'Where did you bought that?' (ang sama sa tenga din, he he he),
dapat 'Where did you buy that?'

Feeling ko di totoo yung theory na yung good in math, hindi good in english and grammar (and vice versa)

I know a lot of people na good at both.

Baka kaya lang nagiging ganun dahil society makes kids believe na ok lang maging bad at the other when you're good in one. O kaya naman, kapag interest mo yung isa, hindi mo na na-p-practice yung isa.

Sa kin naman, tingin ko pwedeng magexcel ka sa isa like Math pero di ko naman ineexpect na magaling na magaling mag English, pag professional sana kahit basic English man lang, madunong. Professional nga eh.

Sometimes, may problem ako sa paggamit ng preposition  Sad but true.

Totoo ba ang mga Americans daw, minsan wrong grammar din sila? Nadadala lang daw sa accent kaya akala ng iba eh ok ang grammar nila?

Since theres a thread for Correct Pronunciation of words, I decided to make a thread sa common Grammar mistakes that you often encounter.

Im not saying my grammar is flawless, created this thread lang for us to correct some of our grammar errors.

Ill start the ball rolling.

1. People with -ed syndrome -- people who put -ed sa halos lahat ng verb that they use kahit hindi naman dapat.

2. A pleasant good morning/afternoon/evening

3. his/her, he/she misuse. andami kong nakikilala na she ng she kahit babae tinutukoy, anubeh.

isip pa ko.

sis tama nman diba? she ng she kahit babae tinutukoy.. she sa babae? hehe.. or mali ka lang ng type?

Totoo yan sis ang work ko ay mag edit sa mga wrong grammar essay, profile, etc. ng mga foreigners based in U.S., out of 600 applicants wala pa 10% ang masasabi ko na walang mali. Kahit pa minsan ang sabi nila ay English teacher sila. Akala lang natin lage ang galing nila magEnglish kase mabilis pero pag nagsulat na magaling pa Pinoy!

Oo nga eh, pansin ko din yun, lalo na nung may nakausap akong client dati from Ireland. Parang jumbled yung grammar niya, though maiintindihan mo kung anong gusto niyang sabihin. Oo nga, mas magaling pa ang pinoy, siguro sa accent nalang magkakatalo.

nang- used before verbs; synonymous sa "upang" at "noon"; na+ang; ano pa ba? hmn
ng- used before nouns and adjectives; pati yata sa prepositions (loob ng blahblah, ilalim ng ganyan, etc.) hehe

i agree, andaming di alam gamitin ang nang vs. ng!!!!

siyempre, care nila diba? basta tama mag english. Now that's how it feels when Americans (or any other country that has English as their native language) brush off minor grammatical mistakes when their spoken language is used. Not that I'm saying na di dapat pahalagahan ang English grammar, but we must be a bit forgiving when others commit mistakes using it.

hello victorious, why not just say who are your uncles .. that will similarly lead them in mentioning the names  pero ok din yan if you would like to directly ask for the names, applicable in scenarios where you are listing names, etc.

This is really common. I'm reading an email from Metrodeal, and it says, "Please see merchant advised. As per advised they already shipped your order. did you already received your order?" -- so many errors in one simple email.

sisses, which is correct, I VISIT THE DENTIST REGULARLY or I REGULARLY VISIT THE DENTIST? i believe the first one is correct because usually the adverb sa huli nilalagay. please paki expand explanation about dz. tia
