Common Grammar Mistakes

Since theres a thread for Correct Pronunciation of words, I decided to make a thread sa common Grammar mistakes that you often encounter.

Im not saying my grammar is flawless, created this thread lang for us to correct some of our grammar errors.

Ill start the ball rolling.

1. People with -ed syndrome -- people who put -ed sa halos lahat ng verb that they use kahit hindi naman dapat.

2. A pleasant good morning/afternoon/evening

3. his/her, he/she misuse. andami kong nakikilala na she ng she kahit babae tinutukoy, anubeh.

isip pa ko.

^yan din lagi ko napapansin yung "he" kahit babae ang tinutukoy and vv. minsan nasasabi ko din yan. LOL

I guess one common mistake is when it comes to subject-verb agreement.

you use entitled if you are "entitled to something" etc. etc.
pero pag you are referring sa title, di na dapat entitled.

irregardless--its REGARDLESS. meron akong prof na suki niyan..takot lang i-correct kasi intitution na sa school.LOL

yeah pinakamadalas yung your and you're mistakes.

its and it's (first is possessive, second is short for it is)
they're, there and their
i usually come across stuff like "doesn't makes" or "did studied". should be does make or did study. or makes and studied.

stuffs - dapat stuff lang.

do/does/did + verb - minsan ginagamit ng iba yung past tense ng verb like "What did she wrote in her journal?" which is wrong because the word "did" already expresses that the action already happened (past tense). The verb should be on its bare infinitive from (base form). It should be "What did she write in her journal?"

how about food? we were taught in school that plural form of food is,food..same thing with stuff.tama ba?

^ i medyo find it funny when i see people say stuffs and foods. both of them kasi are in their plural form na even without the S sa dulo.

I remember may book na Malictionary. Nakalagay dun na ang tamang term ay master bedroom at hindi master's bedroom. Ang meaning nun master ay "main" at hindi bedroom ng masters. Parang master key.
