You can get updates on your annulment cases in the following instances:

1) if your lawyer has a law firm, drop by at the office and inquire about the status. I am pretty sure there are staff there or lawyers who can assist you.

2) if your lawyer has no office, drop by a his house and wait for him. Again i am pretty sure he will go home eventually. Do it nice and diplomatic though. Some lawyers keep their work and private life strictly separate.

3) if the annulment case is pending in the court, go to the clerk of court and ask for the status and be ready with your case docket number or any reference so the clerk of court or his staff can readily assist you.

4) the solicitor general's office is also involved so you may nicely request for the solicitor or lawyer assigned to your case and maybe ask for status updates.

And the observation that lawyers are not magicians is true. The pendency and resolution of the case highly depends on the court and the manner your case will be handled by the presiding judge. Some may take six months while others as long as two years. But your lawyer should at least update you of the status regularly.

I hope this helps.

I have been lurking through this forum for quite some time now.  It saddens me that some people use this forum to sell their products and/ or services without consideration to others.

As a client/ buyer, it is our responsibility to be vigilant when getting the services of a lawyer, doctor or any professional for that matter.  We should not rely solely on forum feedbacks.  The ones posting may actually be working for that doctor or lawyer, acting as a client to get more customers for their enterprise.  Just a food for thought.

Any advice on prenuptial agreement?  I am considering this before marriage, but I am just concerned that I may eventually get problems with BIR for tax and other matters. I am a businesswoman, though I have an accountant and mother who handles my finances for me.

Question po: I have received the decision. null and void. pero i am not the petitioner. kelan ko pwedeng makuha yung info na single na ulit ako? cenomar ba ang kukunin ko? o marriage certificate na may tatak na null and void? kasi magpapachange name na sana ako. :)

Its ntot that difficult to have prenuptial agreement. You may ask your mom to provide you a lawyer. Or being businesswoman, i am sure you have clients or friends who are lawyers or have legal background.

It's been almost 2 years since I filed a petition. I've spent nearly P300,000, or probably more than that pero walang progress sa case. Umuuwi ako ng Pinas para mag-appear, (pre-trial, trial) but for some reason, laging naca-cancel. Wala manlang pasabi. Kesyo may seminar daw yung judge. Etong huli may sakit naman daw.

It's heartbreaking. The process is taking so long and I'm seriously getting tired of it. I've lost my job that pays the bill dahil sa kaka-take ng leave. Now I have to work 2 jobs para lang ma-afford ang lawyer.

I had to ask my lawyer to withdraw from the case, feeling ko kasi hindi niya nagagawa ng maayos yung trabaho niya. Then kada appear, pera agad. Hindi naman ako rich. :(

I had to get a new lawyer, another 150k. I'm just hoping na may mangyari na this time.

This case has taken a big toll on me, just mentioning it and that I have to see the X at the court is enough to bring me to tears. Nakakapagod pala. Never ending stress!  :(

sisters, i need your help, is it possible to cancel a case from a specific court and transfer it somewhere else kung yung court mismo where the case was filed ang hindi umuusad ang civil cases? wala bang ibang choice, but to just wait for the court to resume?  :-\

If I may add to the thread with few inquiries.  Hope someone with legal background can give me initial advice.

I have this guy friend who have been living separately with his wife for 7 yrs now.  They have been married for 16-17 yrs already.  Apparently, the reason why they separated ( from what I know ) is that when my guy friend got sick, the wife was not able to take good care of him and eventually left him.  While my guy friend had an incidence of infidelity to his wife even when they were together, though the wife has no evidence.  Because of what his wife did, they remained separated where their eldest daughter lives with him while the youngest son with her wife.

What I want to know is, between my guy friend (left alone while sick) and his wife (experienced infidelity of my guy friend), who has the greater grounds to file an annulment?  Though, right now, my guy friend is more willing to have it annulled.

I don't know if this is the right thread. My bf is married (but he claims that he no longer have any communication with her) and they have a son. I knew he has a son but I never knew he was once married. I started to find out nung nanggulo na yung girl. Called our house informed my mom about it. Nanggulo kasi, before gusto nung girl half ng pay ni bf ibibigay sa kanya for their son. Ok lang kaya ko pa intindihin but what I cannot take is di niya afford at feeling ko wala naman siya plans na mag pa annull. Ang pangit pa kasi yung mom niya in favor of the girl siguro dahil lolas always cared for their apos kaya ayaw maging broken family.

He gets stressed pag tinatanong ko siya about the details, he doesnt remember daw the details kasi matagal na yun etc. He claims na they undergone legal separation as the initial step. Now sinasabi niya na puwede na invalid yung marriage niya kasi walang guardian yung girl nung kinasal sila, ang akin lang bakit mo sasabihin sakin na nagpagod kayo for legal separation kung puwede iconsider yung point na yun.

My question is paano ko malalaman ang real civil status niya? (Sa Lahat Ng ids niya, married---which is a pain). Puwede ba Ko mag request Ng marriage contract and cenomar sa sm business center? Will I be authorized?

Turned off talaga ako sa bf ko but we're cool. 3 years na kami. Love ko siya but I feel I can't trust him. He has short fuse kaya para Hindi kami mag clash, I avoid asking him these. At dahil nga he has to support his kid (kasi Hindi na Rin nagbibigay yung wife niya), money is a problem. I'm single and have a comfortable life kaya I feel he's not the right man for me. He's doesn't know how to save and controlling especially sa job Ko, gusto niya lagi kami sabay sa Lahat, pag na promote ako, I can't accept the promotion not unless siya din, he's not supportive. I feel I'm missing half of my life bec of him and bec of these, I'm starting to fall out of love. He's my first bf so you guys would know.

Let's use this thread na din, though parang wala sa plano pa ng bf mo yung annulment.  Matagal na din yung 3 yrs relationship nyo given your situation.  Para san yung gusto mong malaman kung ano ba talaga ang totoo sa status nya?  Will it matter sa magiging ending ng relationship nyo?  Kung walang problem sa family mo yung relasyon nyo, good for you.  Pero kung issue pa din yon sa family, leave that 3 yrs of relationship and move on for more happy years with a new one.

Minsan din kase sa relationship, the past is not important kaya do not dwell too much on that.  What's more important is ano ba ang gusto mo na patunguhan ng relationship nyo.  Kung malabo ang patutunguhan, why would you settle for that kind of relationship? unless sobrang mahal mo na talaga cya na tipong rather than you want to spend your lifetime with him, it's more of you cannot live without him or can't imagine that at all sa sobrang pagmamahal nyo sa isa't isa.

So instead of looking for ways to know his real status, assess first how you feel for him especially that you are starting to fall out of love.  Though, his status might matter, but I think what is more important is your true feelings for him regardless of his status.

@cinnam
No need to get a cenomar. Married pa rin ang bf mo.  Unless makakuha siya ng annulment or declaration of nullity sa korte, kasal pa rin siya.  Ergo, di kayo pwede magpakasal.

@onlygirl
They can't ask for an annulment nor for a declaration of nullity of their marriage based on those grounds.  Limited lang ang grounds na enumerated sa batas natin.

Hi mga sis... Need your answers po..

My younger sis has this bf/live in partner for almost 5years na and may baby na sila, turning 2 next month..
