^my almost 10-mo old baby is eating instant oatmeal. we noticed he gets so constipated with rice so we're using oatmeal to replace this. his pedia gave us a go signal to give him instant oatmel

i will try it. hindi ko alam kung bakit ayaw nanaman kumain ni baby nang maayos. he is not teething and he is not sick. all he wants is biscuit. kahit anong biscuit basta biscuit. niluluwa niya kapag ibang food.

hi sisses, sarap magbackread and i got a lot of infos here. here's my first solid food experiences:
my twins started solids earlier and now they are 7mos old. i introduced their solids gradually until they reached this 3meal stage. they've eaten giniling beef, giniling pork, food processed: beef cubes, pork cubes, bangus and tilapia and almost all types of green leafy veggies (ultimong alugbati), carrot, kalabasa, sayote, legumes etc and available fruits except the citrusy ones as per my pedia. no to other fish/seafood, chicken, biscuits and egg just yet until 1yo as per my pedia. they have been eating 3x a day:

breakfast 5 tbsp cerelac with 1 tbsp meat & 1 tbsp veggies then 1 tbsp fruit for dessert
lunch & dinner 5 tbsp brown rice (yung giniling na bigas) with 2 tbsp veggie & 1 tbsp meat then 1 tbsp fruit for dessert

sometimes i freeze my pre-cooked veggies/viands kasi i cook in the weekends ng nilaga, sinigang, chopseuy pero hiwalay with my babies, i only put onion sa stocks para magkalasa lang then processor na then add freshly cooked brown rice porridge (yung giniling na bigas)
nung una, ang fear ko lang is [textspeak!] bowel movement kasi syempre titigas na ang jebs kaya sasakit na when they poop kaya i was hesistant to make the 3meal a day. medyo cry din ang drama at nagiging 3x a day din sila magpoop pero konti sometimes pag marami, once lang. maybe depende rin sa menu for the day, like beef medyo heavy sa kanila ata yun. nagkadiaper rash nga isang baby kasi siguro sa changes ng food intake na nila.
so far, pureed with a little texture sila, nagg-gag pa rin yung isang baby ko pag may chunk eh, sayang naman at naubos na niya ang almost 1 cup food eh, niluluwa lang lahat dahil may isang strand ng veggie di naprocess mabuti. no teeth pa rin pero teething na talaga.
siguro by 8-9th month, table food na talaga na may konting chunks. dadamihan ng tubig ko na lang yung bigas para malambot kahit di na brown rice. cant wait to have them sitting right next to us, eating the same food:) gusto ko na rin sila magstart grab ng food at sila na kumain na di sila machochoke. kelan ba pede un?
malamang parents natin di naman kasing galing magresearch like us, pero look at us, wala namang bad product sa mga maagang nagsolids or AM lang ang kinaing first solid food or half scoop lang ng milk formula ang nilalagay sa dpat na intake (walang pambili ng gatas si mader nun, hehe) nung baby pa tayo pero syempre, dahil meron ng internet sa panahon natin, we see to it na we give the best to our babies. kudos to all the mommies here:) thanks for sharing all of this info. di ko alam na pede na pala ang yougurt, bread sticks etc as snacks. san nga pala nakakabili ng munchkin feeder? tia

^"finger" food according to my son's pedia is advisable once baby learns to crawl without tummy touching the ground. pwede na meat pag 7mos? i thought mga 8mos at least pa pwede ang mga meat (2nd stage weaning)

I've seen some munchkin stuff at sm department store

My mom started giving me solids at 3 mos. As a result, I have a allergies now. As in week in week out. Whether its because of the early introduction or i am genetically predisposed, i dont eant to take the chance. I made sure to follow new recommendations in introducing solids to my kids since I don't want them to suffer the same fate.

May nabibiling ice trays with covers. If you can't find one, you can use plastic wrap. Don't use foil cause minsan may naiiwan na small parts. Scary if ma-swallow ni baby

nowadays, my baby usually eat rice with sabaw. I make soup/stocks, pero so far ang nagagawa ko pa lang vegetable stock (mirepoix-then i also fed her the carrots) and beef giniling soup, sauteed the beef sa onion and garlic in olive oil ,then added water, then i got the sabaw only for baby, then halo sa kanin nya. :)

I usually use maya-Maya or lapu-lapu. Any fleshy type will do. When I buy it from the market, I already have it filleted. Tinatabi na din for me yung fish head. That's what I use for the soup.

Tip Lang, double check the fillets if there are any bones left. After cooking too, I double check ulit if may naiwan

Few years ago, napanood ko sa Oprah [textspeak!] kids na maaga pinakain ng solid foods.  Wala pa akong any idea at that time about taking care of baby kasi wala pa naman kaming baby.  Pinanood ko lang sya kasi i was surprised to know yung effect of early feeding solids; yung feature nila at that time ay yung marami ngang allergies, like to chicken and egg... nakaka-awa talaga.

Good thing marami ng naging research na nai-she-share na sa atin now to prevent such things from recurring.

Mga sis, ask ko lang, yung Gerber First foods, dapat gamitin lang sya within 48hrs after openning, noh?  Kung ano man ang excess/ left over after that, dispose na, kahit pa naka ref.

Baby is currently 5months old and pedia advised i-trial na daw si baby.  I'm so scared of this trial kaya i make sure super konti lang ang bigay ko kay baby for now, mga 5 scoops sa baby spoon in a day lang.  In effect, madaming natitira sa bottle ng gerber, ako nalang ang uubos...  Nakaka 2 gerbers na sya.  Next time ko na ulit sya bigyan, at the end of the week mag-open kami ulit ng next bottle of Gerber 1st foods...  or probably wag na, wait ko nalang 6months nya...

i'll drop by sa sm one of these days para sa munchkin thing. thanks po ha?:)

talagang it's better to take precautions, lalo na when you feel na it started way back pa or genes na talaga ang culprit. pero for sure, mothers would never want to harm their children kaya its nice na merong mommy info sharing like ours here para malaman na ang latest recommendations ng docs or even hear other mommies' opinion/experience with the same sentiments and para macorrect ang mistake/warn them or just plainly giving advise para sa mga moms na nagsseek ng help.
next project ko ngayon yang mga recipes like what you shared the last time (backreading galore ako eh), parang ang sarap iulam kahit sa aming magasawa eh. hehe:) thanks again sis

for veggie/fruit sticks, what i do is i put it in munchkin feeder for baby not to choke. he can just suck the juice. also helps for he's currently teething :) mothercare also sells a similar one but i think the latter is more expensive.

rice cereals or lugaw daw kasi least allergenic.  magiging picky eater pala if yun yung food?  ano advisable na first food para hindi maging picky eater?
