everday ang adjustment period.
IMO, if you survive the first 2 years, you're good for the long haul. You never do stop adjusting, as ARTEGIRL stated. There is always a big change or development that will require both of you to fine tune your relationship again, and again, and again. Not necessarily against each other or at the expense of the other, but more of synergizing yourselves to be a better team. You will learn: That, Patience is a virtue. That, being open and having good humor will make adjustments easier. To be open to becoming more efficient, and a better person. & To not expect to achieve a make-over of your husband; coz he probably married you thinking he was good enough for you to be happy with him as-isWhen stressed out: breathe deeply, step back, and do not make decisions based on emotions.
Adjustment Period -- Isa sa mga kinakatakutan ko sa buhay mag asawa. I have been travelling a lot with my fiance since we got together, lalo na pag summer.. Pero I'm sure na meron pa kaming madidiscover sa isa't isa pag mag asawa na kami (next year).Chores, Housekeeping -- Pareho kaming tamad.. Pero tamad no the nth power sya. So I can just imagine the messy room, the dishes, the bathroom, etc. I said yes to him considering that, because that was him being the person that I love. And being tamad is totally acceptable being he helps me when I am asking him to help me.
^haha i guess advantage sa amin na pareho kaming hindi OC (read: makalat lol). thanks sis, i'm doing better, back to normal self na, haha!-------Relate ako sayo, sis. We travelled a lot too before we were married, and we lived together din for about half a year bago kami kinasal. And pareho din kaming tamad sa chores. I can't say na living together helped me in preparing for marriage kasi even then wala kaming any major 'adjustment' talaga. Relaxed lang kasi most of the times, even now na may baby na kami. And, talagang nadadaan lahat sa mabuting communication. Everyday we're learning how to live with each other. Kahit kasi gaano ka magprepare sa buhay may asawa, it's a totally different world when you're already there. The best thing to go about it is ask yourself kung anong kaya mong gawin and icompromise for the sake of the marriage, then stick to it. Good luck on your married life sis. I really feel that marriage is a beautiful yet underrated experience.
