I concur! We never stop adjusting as a couple.. but i noticed lately mas naiintidihsn na ako ni hubby. I guess as long as you mke an effort to get to know your partner things will be ok, but still noy guaranteed na hindi kayo mag aaway. pero yun din ang spice ng marriage, it becomes boring pag masyado nang predictable

IMO, if you survive the first 2 years, you're good for the long haul.   :D

You never do stop adjusting, as ARTEGIRL stated.
There is always a big change or development that will require both of you to fine tune your relationship again, and again, and again.   Not necessarily against each other or at the expense of the other, but more of synergizing yourselves to be a better team.

You will learn:
  That, Patience is a virtue.
That, being open and having good humor will make adjustments easier.
To be open to becoming more efficient, and a better person.
&  To not expect to achieve a make-over of  your husband;  coz he probably married you thinking he was good enough  for you to be happy with him as-is

When stressed out:   breathe deeply, step back,  and do not make decisions based on emotions.

nice tips sis:)) maaapply ko to sa married life ko hehe :))

^We have been married for 8 months and 18 days (9th on the 17th).

One year married and it's daily for us now.

I asked for help here in GT before about some problems we have a couple of months back. It stemmed from "wala kaming adjustment period" and everything's ok.

Nung lumipat kasi sa new home namin, yun talaga yung walang adjustment. We felt at home. Sure there's a bit of struggle with housework (until now) but on a normal basis naman prior getting married meron din struggle pag house chores hehe.

We continue to nourish our relationship and work on our differences on a regular basis. I always think na never again will I be so confident there's nothing to work on. Fixed na ang adjustment period namin there's always room for improvement :)

^youngest din kami parehas ni fiance but between the two of us, I feel like mas hirap syang mag-adjust sa akin. Minsan nagsusumbong na sya sa parents ko na ang hirap ko daw gisingin sa umaga hahaha and my mom knows that very well, so matatawa na lang sya. We're both very chill (read: lazy) persons haha so our room can be messy and we won't even care a bit. At this point in our relationship (living together, engaged), I'm kind of proud to say na we never had any major argument when it comes to each other's habits, and also siguro advantage na din na parehas kaming kalmado lang sa buhay na no one nags about the shortcomings of the other.

always make a room for adjustments..

I have been travelling a lot with my fiance since we got together, lalo na pag summer..

Chores, Housekeeping -- Pareho kaming tamad.. Pero tamad no the nth power sya. So I can just imagine the messy room, the dishes, the bathroom, etc. I said yes to him considering that, because that was him being the person that I love. And being tamad is totally acceptable being he helps me when I am asking him to help me.

I just feel lucky though, that the other day, he told me.. "Adjustments, arguments, misunderstandings are all part of a beautiful life together. And they lived happily ever after.'"

We recently got married (2 mos ago) and I'm so looking forward to discover things that I still don't know about him. We've been together for almost 9 years before settling down. We don't fight (totoo to), petty arguments...just sometimes. Malaking factor din siguro that we have a lot of love and respect for each other. And super mabait kasi ni husband. We have a different line of work and everyday we love to update each other on how our days went, tell stories about anything. Parang lagi pa ring nagliligawan ganun.
I know it's still early to tell since we still do not have kids yet. Kasi pag nagkababy na, maiiba na yung priorities. But I know communication and openness will be the key. You just have to have an open mind (and a lot of patience) to understand each other.
Nice to read stories of couple who surmounted a lot of challenges and still not giving up..which is what marriage is all about (through thick and thin).
I wish everyone of us a happy and successful married life.

Until now nag aadjust pa rin ako.

I guess i got really lucky kasi hindi ako nahirapan mag adjust talaga kay husband. Malaking bagay yung maturity ng lalaki i think. Siguro pinakamalaking adjustment namin was when i had a brief post partume episode a few months ago. Si husband ang nahirapan since i became unreasonably sensitive and angry and sad most of the times. Also, before pa kami ikasal, my goal is to keep our relationship simple and lowkey. We brush off the small things. Sabi ko nga, hindi ko naman ikakamatay kung iwan nya socks nya sa floor, and it will only take a few seconds to throw it sa laundry bin, kesa pagawayan pa namin.

Relate ako sayo, sis. We travelled a lot too before we were married, and we lived together din for about half a year bago kami kinasal. And pareho din kaming tamad sa chores. I can't say na living together helped me in preparing for marriage kasi even then wala kaming any major 'adjustment' talaga. Relaxed lang kasi most of the times, even now na may baby na kami. And, talagang nadadaan lahat sa mabuting communication. Everyday we're learning how to live with each other. Kahit kasi gaano ka magprepare sa buhay may asawa, it's a totally different world when you're already there. The best thing to go about it is ask yourself kung anong kaya mong gawin and icompromise for the sake of the marriage, then stick to it. Good luck on your married life sis. I really feel that marriage is a beautiful yet underrated experience.

I never expected na ganito magiging married life ko since dami ko nababasa at naririnig about being married. Pero siempre may stress din kami minsan like budget and achieving our plans/projects for our family. Enjoy life.

^agree with everything you said, sis Shadow. Siguro may mga adjustments tayong ginagawa for our partners pero kasi kung matured kayo pareho at mas nakakaintindi sa mga bagay bagay, it won't feel like a burden, na para bang pinipilit mo lang tanggapin just because wala ka ng choice kasi mag asawa na kayo. Sa married life aside from communication, malawak ng pang unawa talaga ang kailangan tingin ko. Dalawang magkaibang tao kayo trying to work towards the same goals, kaya kung di kayo magkakaintindihan talagang magsstruggle kayo.

10 days before wedding, we decided to live together na. Quick preps and adjustment na din.

Were getting the hang of it after 2 days..  may isa lang akong concern..  that natural "amoy lalake" of guys..  gets nyo yun? mabilis mag build up sa kwarto pag sarado windows..  medyo umiinit ulo ko but i dont nag about it and let it pass kasi wala naman sha kasalanan..

what to dooo???
