Pros and Cons of Living in a Condominium against living in a house

For me house muna, got a townhouse in cavite, later na lang yung condo unit to make it commercial or for physical business, till now kase puro online lang ang biz ko.

For me condo, bukod sa security di ko na din masyadong iniisip maintenance kasi madali magtawag sa admin sa baba pag may nasirang electrical or plumbing thingy. Contented na din ako sa small garden ko sa balcony/veranda ko

^^Yes i agree that condos are more secured cus you pay extra for the maintenance and security. Dapat lang ma-ensure na maayos and efficient yung condo management.

Definitely House for me.. ok na din if Town house kasi may security guards din yun minsan for safety.

I lived in a midrise condo right now, 16 units per floor lang.
Secured. 
Plus factor din yung amenities like pool, gym, etc.

Tama yung isang sis natin dito na madali tumawag sa admin for maintenance. yung nga lang mas mahal yung charges, for example: drilling works, one drill = one hundred pesos.

pero someday, i would also like to have a house, but for now, since hubby and i are both working, and my son will start school soon, condo living is the best choice for us.

^^ 1 drill hole = 100php or kada gamit php 100?  Sa amin minor requests walang bayad. The assoc dues covers that. We just tip the maintenance person. But requests such as aircon installation or bigger repairs, may bayad na.

Major disadvantage lang of living in the condo is the lack of privacy. We don't live in a crowded one (around 8 doors per floor, then 4 doors Lang per wing) but yet we still find that we don't have privacy. For one you share the hallway with other households. Like there was one instance, when we stepped out on our floor, our neighbors we're kissing (and not in a wholesome way). My kids were with me pa naman.

^ that's very unfortunate! we'll move to our condo soon and there are 6 units lang per floor, sana we don't see anything untoward.

for those living in a condo, how much per square yung association dues ninyo? ours will be php70 and i find it pretty steep? i don't know, never lived in a condo so can't really say.

lilipat lang ako ng h&l pag bongga talaga iyong lilipatan ko i mean medyo malaki laki narin diba? hehe

Yeah ang nakakainis pag nasa condo ka di maiwasang may maarteng kapitbahay like yung sa ibabang floor katapat namin nagrereklamo pag sobra dilig namin at napupunta sa plants nila yung excess na tubig!

di ko type tumira sa condo, katagalan bumababa ang value unlike sa house and lot sa lupa pa lang eh tumataas ang value....house maaring bumababa ang value pero hindi ang lupa.

hi mas gusto yung house atleast sarili mo, unlike sa condo parang no privacy
and pag house kase magagawa mo yung gusto mo, and wala masayadong DUES
unlike sa condo madami binabayaran

My fiance and I were looking for our soon-to-be family house and we realized it is better to buy a townhouse nalang for the following reasons

secured din naman because townhouses have guards din naman
you have your own house and lot with land title
mas tumataas ang value over time unlike condos
you dont have to worry about thousands of monthly fees. eh pag sa condo you cant go jobless or else wala ka na pambayad sa monthly fees mo

naiisip din namin pag lumindol at nagiba ang condo, sorry nalang. unlike if you have a lot, you can easily have it restored. some people kasi chooses condo because of the idea that it very SOSYAL pero my officemates na nakatira sa condo even told me na sana house and lot nalang binili nila kasi mandatory yung monthly dues eh minsan mabigat na talaga sa bulsa

^well even if you live in a house (in a village) or in a townhouse, you will still have to pay for monthly association dues. This goes for pa-sweldo to the guards, road repair, lighting of the streets, etc.

yeah which is less than 300 compared to thousands.

yung iba naman walang binabayaran maintenance kasi sagot na ng government. well based on my experience here near Araneta Center Cubao ha. We are never asked to pay any dues kasi covered nadaw sa taxes pati yung CCTV cameras Sa village din nina bf sa taytay wala silang binabayaran. sa san mateo naman namin na house and lot nagbabayad lang kame pag may need ipa-repair pero most of the time napapa-sponsor din sa government so no expense nadin talaga. we can pay naman pero we are looking for more practical means 

kung short term investment keri lang ang condo pero we are looking for long term investments kasi eh. at least we are paying for something that will go for a long way

In our case na laging wala sa house at yaya and kid lang naiiwan, mas panatag kami na sa condo nakatira kahit na mag bayad pa kami ng thousand for the monthly dues regret lang namin di kami makapagalaga ng madaming cats and dogs kasi nasa condo nga kami.

Para sa akin, social ang mga nakatira sa Valle Verde, white plains and etc with their own pool!

ang gusto ko lang sa condo is facilities such as pool, malamang di anayin, at less chances ng tulo sa bubong. nakaka-drain ng energy mag-asikaso ng pag-aayos ng bahay, lalu na if you do it every 10-15 years because of anay.

^believe it or not, "binaha" unit namin during the height of the habagat season. The walls were so saturated, water was seeping through the walls and windows. As in our floor was wet and kakapunas Lang basa ulit. This is considering the developer of our condo is one of the top ones in the industry. Good thing this is only a rented unit.
