Pros and Cons of Living in a Condominium against living in a house

I still prefer a house. I need some breathing space between me and my neighbors. I have never lived in a condo but cannot imagine what it would be like if a had a monster neighbor, or worse neighbors. Just went through almost two years of animosity with a neighbor. Thankfully they have moved already.

House! I do not like condos kasi because of bad ventilation. Magluto ka lang ng konti, you and clothes will smell like what you cooked agad.

Right now, I live in a house with a big lot. I prefer that kasi I have growing kids. They need a space to move around. But maybe when I retire I would rather live in a condo to free myself of the worries of maintenance. Maraming condo developers na maganda na ang package, at maganda ang structure. I like mid rise buildings lang.

As much as I want to own a house and lot, the decision does not complement the lifestyle that I have right now. I'm working at a high- end company at Quezon City. And I'm from Bulacan. The travel always gives me headache. The desire to owning a condo a reality is becoming much bigger, that's why I have decided to buy one at The Amaryllis - perfect since it is near to where I am working. Also, I could drop by Trinoma or SM North Edsa whenever I want to enjoy myself from the tiring days of work. I've been meaning also to bring my mom so that she could experience the convenience and comfort in condo living. Aside from the location and proximity advantage, I believe that condos in the metro will have higher value as time moves by, so I can either sell it or rent it off.

The answer will always depend on one’s circumstances. For example, for a professional (just like me) who is working in the metro, the most viable accommodation is a condominium unit.

I really want a house, kahit townhouse lang muna but getting one around the Metro (Pasig or QC) is out of our budget. There are affordable ones at the heart of Antipolo but the additional gas fare is going to hurt us even more. I also considered Avida Village in Nuvali but the gas and toll fees daily isnt going to be worth it considering that I work at BGC and hubby works at Makati. I dont want the places in Montalban Rizal din naman since it's not only far but quite dangerous din daw.

So, my husband and I decided to get a 2-bedroom condo unit in Pasig. It's along A Rodriguez Pasig which is adjacent to Marcos Highway. It's near malls, schools, hospitals, and transportation. It's a small unit, 32 sqm lang. It's not my first choice but for our first investment, I think it's pretty ok na din considering that we can choose to sell or have it rented out as soon as it's done. Plus, it's a trusted developer too (Filinvest Land). Hopefully, after this we'd be able to get a townhouse naman.

House parin kami ni hubby. We're not really fans of limited living space. A garage and a big garden are must-haves for us.

House..i've tried living in an apartment building (parang condo style din) when i was still single and nafeel ko talaga disadvantages like the limited space, di ka pwede mag-invite ng madaming bisita kasi ang sikip na, tapos may neighbors ka na maingay, at the same time nakakahiya din naman sa katabing units pag maingay ka and may mga tenants na walang discipline  pati sa pagtapon ng basura...siguro kung single pa ako ok lang but now na may family and baby na, ayoko na ng ganung set-up

same dilemma here.. i was about to get a h&l in rizal, near my sister's.  kaso nahihirapan ako sa biyahe.  not to mention that in my field of work, you sometimes get assigned to different working shifts so hassle talaga biyahe.. im still scouting for options and grabe, kahilo pala..

^True. We live in lower Antipolo and I was tempted to get a townhouse in Antipolo proper but the additional expenses in gas and the additional travel time is really not worth it. I work in BGC The Fort and my husband works in Makati.

Mura na 'yun. Just make sure duly settled ang amilyar upto the current quarter (at least) at clean title (hindi nakasangla sa bank).

House pa rin.  Although nakaka-miss din yung "condo days" namin.  It was very convenient -- may malapit na grocery, sa baba may mini-stop at fabricare. Nakakatakot lang pagnag-earthquake.

its nice to live in a house.  on the ground, not too scared of earthquakes.  but then again staying in a condo is more practical and easy to maintain.

Well we all know the fact that it would depend on our own desire of lifestyle. Both can be good choice and advantageous to us being end users, for example a nice condominium will provide you strategic location nearby action, its closeness to prime location such as schools, hospitals, business and commercial hubs makes it on top. While a house offers you that peaceful environment, you feel uncluttered, and most of all ideal for families looking for simple lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle lifestyle in the city.
