Anyone here na nakabasa na ng mga books ni Marcelo santos III? Is it really good? Curious talaga ako since laging bestseller at ginagawa pang movie. Or talagang makakarelate ang marami since it's about love and heartbreaks?

hello! pasali po!

ako ang mga nabasa kong Filipino books, yun nun nag-aaral pa ko, gustong-gusto ko yun Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo..gusto ko yun plot..and i'm planning nga sana to re-read kaso wala pang time atsaka di ko na makita yun mga dati kong books, wala din ako makitang books nun na gusto ko though madami sa mga bookstores..

meron din ako ng mga Bob Ong books at kumpleto ko sila, yey! bumili at binasa ko nun mga panahon stress na stress ako sa work, gusto ko kase yun pagkakadeliver niya ng story, funny and humorous na may sense..

^not read any of his books. pero i'll try kapag available na sa national bookstore. lagi kasing sold out books niya.

Gusto ko rin bumili yung kay Mirriam. haha.

^astig talaga si Mirriam sa mga quotable quotes niya at pick-up lines. Super aliw kapag naiinvite siya magspeech, hindi talaga mawawala ang mga ganito. haha.

at dahil diyan mas priority ko na ang Stupid is Forever bilhin.

Yung movie pala na Just The Way You Are adapted sa The Bet na book. Akala ko dun sa Break The Cassanova Heart ng Summit. Pareho kase ng story.

Hi!

If anyone here is into Philippines folklore and the paranormal, check out the Trese series by Budjette Tan. It's a graphic novel/comicbook about a girl named Trese, who helps keep Manila safe by using her powers to fight the paranormals out to create problems and dangers. Interesting ang character ni Trese because babae siya and she's matapang. I'm easily drawn to strong female characters kasi. Also, the series features different Philippine folklore characters like the Tikbalang, aswang, etc...

I also like Bata, Bata, Paano Ka Ginawa and Gapo. Both are by Lualhati Bautista. The stories are parang young mga everyday happenings ng isang family, pero they're not the common situations you read in some books or novels. May distinct quality 'yung stories. Also, it's very easy to identify with the characters and the situations kasi very Pinoy. The stories tackle issues and relationships that can happen to anyone.

Gusto ko talaga ito. Kasi maraming interesting trivia about Dr. Jose Rizal, lalo na yung mga di natin naririnig o tinuturo sa school. Also, i love history. Ambeth Ocampo has a way of making history very entertaining and interesting. Nilalabas niya yung katauhan ng mga heroes natin. Nai-illustrate nya most likely kung anong personality ng mga heroes natin noong nabubuhay pa sila. He writes the things that make our heroes "human" just like the rest of ua.

Gusto ko un si bebang sy, I remember nasa National Bookstore ako and I saw this book na It's a Mens World, since open un packaging ng book eh binasa ko un ilang part, ayun super tawa ako sa loob ng national bookstore, wapakels na sa mga nakakakita

First Filipino books I read were Lualhati Bautista's Bata, Bata, Paano Ka Ginawa and Gapo. And, I love both books! I love both stories! These were the books that made me experiment more with my reading choices. I started looking for more books in the Filipiniana section after that.

A big favorite is Ambeth Ocampo's "Rizal Without the Overcoat". I've read it a lot of times, but I still find it really fun and interesting. It's like getting to know Jose Rizal outside of the classroom.

My mom wrote a lot of novels when she was still alive. There were novels in Tagalog and some in English. I read all of them. I even tried to write some myself, but I only managed to come up with one - in English!

My current favorite is the Trese series. It's actually a graphic novel (by Budjette Tan). It's about a girl named Trese who has extraordinary powers. She uses her powers to help the authorities in solving supernatural and unexplainable crimes. Yup, I'm a sucker for books and stories like this!

I also have my cousin's book on Jose Rizal, Revolutionary Spirit: Jose Rizal in Southeast Asia, but I haven't read it yet.

As of the moment, my favorite Filipino author are the Alfars. I love both of them! I was luck enough to meet them last MIBF.
