Jen, possible yung wings na yun.. pwede manipis na alambre lang and then stocking.. i-dye na lang ng different colors tapos glitters.. kung meron ka extra time, beadwork mo ang stocking.. sa youtube I bet marami tutorial dun sa paggawa ng wings.. gawan mo si baby ng magandang maganda and then design the area with wings na nakasabit.. super effort nga lang ito pero kung 1 wing every 2 weeks, enough na yun para macover mo buong venue.. kung pwede din sana na ang balloons ay butterfly shaped.. ako ata ang naeexcite! gusto kita tulungan! haha.. gusto ko mga ganyan.. arts and crafts.. :)

Saka, since most teachers na magagaling, usually galing sa UP College of Educ or grad ng Family Life and Child Development or Ateneo Psychology (specializing in Child Psychology and Education), mas maraming preschools and progressive or non-traditional schools sa QC na nakaka-compete sa big, traditional schools dito.  Sa South, iilan ang alam ko like Maria Montessori (pero established na ito dati pa) and The Bridge School.  Kung traditional naman, ang naririnig ko lang palagi are La Salle Zobel, Woodrose and Southridge at CSA and Assumption sa Makati.  Yung magagandang schools sa South, sobrang mahal.  Pero sa QC, you can get the same quality education for less.  But I could be wrong ha.

And Kinder 1, 2 and 3 ang Preschools. So bale, year 2014 pa mag Kinder 1 si Y. Buti pasok siya kase sabe dun dapat mag 4 daw by October (current year)! Buti pala humabol pa si Y na maging October baby  :P Kinder 1 I think is nursery ano? And I read sa kabilang thread, nasa 100K+ ang tuition fee for a year. Naku, not bad naman ito lalo na if 1 lang ang anak mo di ba? Atska, buong year naman so reasonable siya for me considering the quality of education. Ay, na-excite din ako kahit matagal pa. Gusto ko ako naghahatid sundo kay Y (as in)! LOL! Nagfe-feeling lang ako na office girl!  ;D

Jen, okay talaga sa Poveda.  Wala silang homework, according to my friend who has a daughter there.  Parang progressive ang approach.  Tapos, if may extra work or assignment ang mga students, they do it sa homeroom sa school.

From kinder to high school iyan. Pero all worth it. Talagang kilala kami ng teachers and vice versa and open ang lines of communication.

Kim, Maria Montessori has schools at Merville (eto yata ang matagal na talaga) and Ayala Alabang.  Yung The Bridge School - sobrang okay feedbacks dito - sa BF Parañaque.

Doon ako tumatambay palagi when I was searching for preschools.

marose, ah okay. thanks! good to know sa bf lang ang the bridge school. what's mm?

lia, i heard nga din na baka di na daw okay ngayon ang bene ever since naging san beda siya. not too sure kasi yung mga na-come across ko na graduates from here 2001 pa. pero yung anak ng pinsan ko dito nagsschool ngayon. mukhang okay pa naman. pareho tayo! ayoko din sa exclusive yung "on-on". kaya as much as possible i want co-ed. csa is my choice too kung manageable ang travel para sa bata. :)

CSA for Prep is 130k as of the enrollment this year. Ang hindi ko lang gusto sa school namin ay after school hours ang extra curricular activities.. sana kung swimming gusto mo, during PE time yan ang gagawin mo.. kung Music naman ang gusto mo singing, during music time.. Nung HS kami saka lang naincorporate yan.. I heard ang gradeschool ngayon hindi pa ganyan.. pero ang HS, choice mo ano gusto mo for PE.. I took volleyball, swimming, and soccer.

Kim, as promised, tonight mag Cotton On ako :)

Pia, Kaos is a show sa may Resorts World.  Nakapanood ako niyan for free courtesy of my HSBC contact. ;D

I spent grade and high school in an all-girls school. Siguro, 10% of the school population ang ganoon.  Sa UP na coed ako nag-college and law school and sobrang free doon ang students to do whatever they want.  Since I had exposure to both environments, I can see the advantages and disadvantages of each one.  Actually, hindi ako masyadong concerned whether all-boys/girls or coed.  Any will do.  Mas tinitingnan ko ang philosophy ng school, track record sa UPCAT and other college entrance exams at quality ng teachers.

I think ang objective ng exclusive school is to reduce the pressure of interacting with the opposite sex, especially during adolescent years para ang focus sa studies lang talaga.  Saka, for example, nuns will understandably be more comfortable running a school for girls only and priests or brothers sa boys' school.

I think I benefited from exposure to both an all-girls environment and a coed environment.  Hindi naman ako nahirapan mag-adjust when I entered college.

Marose, peculiar talaga si Tessa ano? She stands talaga sa crowd.. :)

Envious! how i wish my brains were compact.. (the more dikit dikit daw ang brain, the more intelligent you are kasi daw ang neurons magkakalapit at ang pag travel ng information ay mabilis.. sa discovery channel napanood ko lang) I think sa school standards, pag maganda naman ang background ng school, that is kung scholastically acclaimed sila, it follows na ok ang breeding ng mga bata.. shempre ang mga well researched parents doon ipapasok ang mga kids.. well researched parents ay more likely highly educated.. chain reaction kumbaga.. concern ko din ang peers nila kasi sila ang makakasama ng bata at maaacquire nya ang traits ng peers sa araw araw nya makasama ito.

marose, thanks for the insights on schools. my nieces who go to beacon - sila yung hirap mag-tagalog. but very good conversationalists in english. diretso magsalita. one is 9 and the other is 8. they're sisters. they live sa ecology village eh so malapit sa kanila yung beacon.

lia, didn't know na wala nang beacon sa pasong tamo. will ask nga my cousin when i see him sa family dinner on saturday.

pero top choice ko talaga poveda. i have 2 nieces who there, 2nd year high school na yung isa, yung isa grade 5 yata. then next 2 choices ko dlsz at csa. kaya di na namin ni-consider ngayon ang verdana sa mamplasan kasi ang layo! ok na dito sa paranaque area. pero play and pre-school muna bago yan. you may find this useful to know about the differences ng progressive sa montessori sa traditional:

http://teachertinasblog.wordpress.com/

and check this also for a directory of pre-schools in your area:

http://www.preschoolchoices.com/home2/

tin, no idea how much sa kidsville. nakita ko lang sa malapit lang siya so one option siya. yung army navy super like ko. masarap burritos nila pero malaki for me so i always order steak soft taco. maeron sa gloerietta 5 din at sa alabang. yung dating chow king siya, malapit sa yellow cab nga.

sana mag-reply na ang cpk today. parang gusto ko na din mag totoong birthday party na lang pero siguro sasabihin ko na instead of gifts, give na lang diapers or formula that we can donate to good shepherd. what do you think of this option, ladies?

ganyan din ako.. di rin ako nahirapan mag adjust.. because grade school ako co-ed..then highschool exclusive..college co-ed..
OVER!

given na kasi priority na dapat magandang school di ba? im also concerned sa enviroment sa campus... how the students interact with each other.. bullies for sure meron.. ayoko kasi yung may away may kaaway.. may nagaaway.. tsaka for sure meron at merong bata na madumi ang bibig.. yun kinakatakot ko..

lisa
may army navy din sa bf!!

wow CPK!! sang branch? sa GB5 ba? may function room kasi sila dun di ba?

Re bullying, kaya may apprehensions ako sa big school like Ateneo.  Imagine, 40 students in a class tapos 14 sections yata per level ang grade school.

Then dahil sa maraming students, it is very difficult to stand out.  You have to be really good in academics or sports or have many friends.

With a small school, mas napili ang students at mas close sila to each other.  Sa school ng mga anak ko, dahil mixed ages sila sa isang classroom (one of the trademarks of Montessori environment), the older kids mentor the younger kids and feeling ate or kuya sila.  Walang competition.

Oh well, my husband and I have two more years to think it over. He can be very manipulative when he does not want to do something.

lisa, at least na-solve na ang itch mo to buy a bag.

lia, pareho tayo ng thoughts about exclusive schools. yun nga, not exposed to boys so may makipag-usap nga lang na lalaki, feeling may gusto na o kaya naman will do everything to get the guys attention. tsaka yung "on-on" as far as i know din, rampant na siya sa generation ng all girls ngayon. my sister is from miriam and naooverhear ko sila ng friends niya minsan pag nag-uusap. at ayokong ganung environment at type of conversation ang maexperience ni katie. we sound very homophobic nga! hehe i have an officemate who came from st. scho and she has the same thoughts about exclusive schools.

maybe marose it's not much an issue ang exclusive school sayo kasi boys naman yung kids mo kaya wala dapat masyado ika-worry. i agree with pia! moreso, bilib ako sa mga graduates ng UP sa med school and law school nila na babae. coz i heard, mas mataas ang passing score dapat ng babae para makapagmed or law school sa UP.

pia, no pressure on when ha... pero kung matuloy ka later, yehey! :P parang gusto ko talaga ienroll si katie sa csa. naiimagine ko na, kung sa makati pa din ako work by that time, sabay din kami papasok then school bus siguro siya pauwi. pero kung ang ob montessori is nasa 80k lang and they still have the same quality of education as we had before, pwede kaya ilipat ang ob sa south? hehe or better yet, kami na lang kaya ni katie ang bumalik sa mandaluyong? :P

baka nga ipagmontessori ko na lang si katie during the early years of her education then csa/zobel/bene pag high school. college, la salle. hehe pre-school pala the bridge school. talagang naka-plano na eh 2 months pa lang naman anak ko. lol!

mas mahal pa pala csa than poveda? sa zobel kaya, how much ngayon?

Meron daw mga wings for little kids sa divi sis sabe ng friend ko, di lang niya alam how much. Pero good idea pag do it yourself ha, kaso kase di ako artistic na tao. LOL! Aba, pagkabigay ko sabe nya, Tita, this is not a dog! Look, it looks more like a PIG! LOL! ;D Bruhong bata!

Nice gesture naman that the gifts will go to Good Shepherd  :)

Ako naman nagstart sa co-ed and then nag all girls school. 4th year sa st. Paul pque and college sa st. Scho. So proud 'Kulasa' ako. Lol! I have friends na tibo, pero never akong nakipag on.

Damuho!  ;D Sabi ko, I'll read muna and brainstorming kame pagdating niya. Sabagay, we all want the best for our kids.

usapang schools pala. Nagcheck kami ng rates for 2011.  For ages 2.6-3.6 yrs old annual fee is Php134,483, max 20 in a class, 2 teachers;  for ages 3.7 up - Php164,483, mas mataas lang yung membership fee neto magiging 100K na.
 eto breakdown for ages 2.6-3.6:
registration- 3,200
basic fee- 36,123
tuition fee-46,321
membership dues- 48,629
counseling -100
development fee-

Yung Create learning center, sa merville din 65K.  Maximum 12students sa 1 classroom, 2 teachers.
mga teachers are from UP and ateneo kaya mukhang ok din.

Ana Manila.

tin, eto yung price ng Enfapro A+900g 864.20 (zuellig price) 820.99 (net of 5% employee disc).  Enfapro1.2kg (Zuellig price) 1,041.47, net of disc 989.40.

^kaloka! mas mahal ang membership dues than tuition? at parang mas mahal pa sila than csa?
