i think the formality of the event will be affected by the type of alcohol served. like if you serve cheap whisky and wine, red horse or san mig, it wouldn't appear very formal at all.

agree with nalalaos na photobooth, dati ang dami rin suppliers nito but now very few na lang and pagandahan na lang ng gimik to make them patok ulit.

^Fiance now said he wants to serve only wine... maybe we can leave 2 bottles per table daw of different kinds. I'm not sure if just this will get a warm reception by the guests hehe diba dapat may hard drinks padin although the good kind?

i think whisky is okay, especially for men. wine or champagne for the ladies. for younger crowd, imported beers is a good choice. vodka and tequila is definitely a no no. it shouldn't cost that much kasi people dont get drunk naman on weddings. they just want something to drink to pass the time during the program.

sparklingjewel, you could do two to three wines; maybe one dry, one sweet, one medium red -- I wouldn't do champagne or sparkling wine because in my experience it doesn't go that well with food. And then maybe add whisky and one signature cocktail? That should cover all your guests.

We're doing a premium whisky selection (five or six different types) and four cocktails (it's a limited cocktail menu, but we're providing top-shelf liquor).

Thanks sevenstars! But would three bottles of wine per table be overdoing it since we have a lot of guests who i think don't even drink much? I think we have entire tables of people who won't drink haha. And they'll drive back pa to Manila after. I don't drink also so i honestly have no skill in choosing.. what would you say we pursue if 2 bottles per table lang instead of three?

sparklingjewel, in your situation I think two per table would be fine Honestly, if your guests don't drink a lot baka makatipid ka pa if you just have the waiters serve wine when people ask for it (and instruct them to fill glasses properly, eg only one-third full for red and half-full for white). Chances are more bottles will be opened if you put them on the tables, especially when you might only have one or two drinkers per table.

We budgeted 30k for alcohol for 200 pax... given that there are people who dont drink enough na ba to?

sparklingjewel, it is traditional to use champagne for toasts That said, I've heard from a lot of people (including my wedding planner) that a champagne toast can be a huge waste because most people will take a few sips and not finish it. Up to you really, but I think it's an unnecessary expense -- people can toast with whatever they're drinking at the time!

Your planner should be able to help you figure out how much alcohol you need if you give her an estimated number of drinkers. Ours recommended 20-30 bottles of wine and 25 bottles of liquor for our 80 guests (this doesn't include beer which is part of our catering package), but we're providing alcohol from 5pm to midnight and a lot of our guests drink.

Hi mga kabride..me at 1st last year im thinking about getting mobile bar,its kinda cool for me but i just realized i want to diy it and we will do an open bar instead..i bought a nice dispenser and a butler for the liquor I don't know how to post the picture and it so cute tsaka magenjoy sa pagkuha yung mga gusto uminom.we will put it on one place for open bar..and im so excited na sa maging outcome.lol

^Also thought of DIY-ing the bar since I hate the typical cocktail  drinks being served by standard mobile bars (hello, cheap gin). We want to serve premium booze that our guests reallY drink.  However, prob ko was the ice (big big deal and hassle, and expensive if from caterer), utensils, server. Our caterer can set up the bar with complete accessories for 5K. No liquor included since we wanted to buy it ourselves nga. And I figured I can book a mobile bar for that price through a deal site with liquor / cocktails na kahit paano. kaya I kept looking. Until I found this deal ng Bartenders at Work in Groupon. At least it includes na some shooters, kesa totally wala. We will still buy premium liquor and beer. Our budget for the whole bar was 15k, it's for 150 pax.

Hi, looks like wala na yung deal na yun sa Groupon. ph   But you can look for other deals sa ibang deal sites, lagi naman may deals for mobile bars. eh The deal I got was P5k - unlimited shooters for 60 pax. The shooters will be bonus na lang, I am really after the service and bar set up. They allowed me to exceed 60 pax na iinom from the bar, and they will also serve yung additional booze that I will bring like hard liquor, beer, wine. They will provide the utensils. Pumayag sila kasi malapit lang naman daw yun venue ko sa kanila. You can contact them directly, madali sila kausap let them know your requirement. how would you inform guests na may drinks after?

Our host announced it during dinner. Though naka-setup na siya even before cocktail hour, they started serving drinks lang during dinner time onwards.  We wanted our guests kase to eat first before they drink.  Ours was dinner reception kaya we had after party din.  The program ended yata around 9-10PM but marami pang nag-stay since some guests were also staying overnight on the same hotel.  We were drinking pa rin even after the mobile bar closed.  We ordered na lang sa hotel bar.  We slept around 2-3AM na..

i have pencil booked GQ and Shakers for my wedding Nov 2016. i hope to try their drinks in any upcoming bridal fair to actually taste since di nagkakalayo package and rates nila. palainom kami (err... actually, ako lang at friends ko. friends ni h2b slight. si h2b mismo hindi. hehe!) kaya parang hindi "ako" ang event pag wala man lang konting booze. otd coord said bihira daw masulit ang mobile bar kaya she suggests na bili na lang kami and ipapaserve na lang sa waiters. im torn apart. hehe ang babaw. i like ladies' drinks kasi but i know more people (including tanders) will appreciate beer better. nalilito pa ako sa choices ko but will keep this thread in mind
