mobile bar

Hi sisses need your opinion and thoughts. My reception would be in a hotel, for 250-300pax. The hotel has a mobile bar service which costs 25000 for 100pax (tingin ko medyo mahal kasi sa bridal fairs may less than 20k or less than 15k pa nga for 100pax lang). Pero if we would bring in a mobile bar we would pay corkage of 5k. Kung mura talaga offer ng outside mobile bar, mas makakatipid pa din. Pero kapag super mura ba sacrificed din ang quality?

Tingin niyo sisses mas ok kung outside na lang if I would want to add beer (kasi kung in-house ng hotel baka iba pa charge nun na corkage, while if outside baka fixed na yung 5k).

Also I'm thinking na hindi standard yung setup ng mobile bar.. Yung parang cocktail bar siya na formal, hindi yung party set-up kasi medyo gusto namin formal talaga (tho sa foyer lang naman ata mailalagay ang mobile bar, hindi sa ballroom mismo). Saka my event stylist is including a flower arrangement for the cocktail area kasi, so i'm thinking ipa-iba yung setup. There wouldn't be mobile games or other activities basta serving lang ng cocktails sa bar.

Which do you think should I avail?

Saka may I ask sisses, yung glasses ba ng cocktails and mocktails, katulad ng kapag oorder ka ng cocktail sa restos/bars? Yung cocktail glasses talaga? Or lahat sila shots lang talaga ang serving?

Went to the Themes & Motifs Wedding Expo a few weeks ago. There were about 4 or 5 mobile bars in the event. Some were so so, mejo lasang juice [textspeak!] drinks nung isa. Though gusto un nung fiance ko kasi ang ganda daw nung may ari nung mobile bar. (In fairness cute naman talaga siya). One mobile bar stood out for me because of their drinks. I think it was called Party Shaker. Super yummy Mojito nila. Bartenders were presentable and prices were competitive.

Siguro punta pa kami to another wedding fair to see the options in the market, then pili na kami.

Sis I think di naman kelangan ang mobile bar for a lunch reception, kasi may party party pa ba after ng reception? Why not a starbucks booth? For sure, papatok to!

^Sis starbucks booth is minimum 15k. The 15k includes 100 tall frappes OR 80 tall frappes+40 short brewed coffe.

waa sissies, I booked Flair up yesterday during PICC's Wedding Congress for our Sept 2015 wedding. Oks naman rates and nakatawad ng bongga. Oks din lahat ng shooters/cocktails/mocktails na tinry ko so sana consistent sila during my wedding.

I attended several weddings na may mobile bar. Patok sya if most of your guests are young. If medyo may edad na ang karamihan ng guests, do not get a mobile bar kasi usually they prefer hard drinks like wine and beer.

We did not get a mobile bar for our wedding because we don't want to encourage our guests to get drunk during the celebration. May pasok kasi ang karamihan kinabukasan. Effort na nga ang pagpunta sa Tagaytay, lalasingin pa namin? hehe.

But included sa package namin with the caterer yung mocktails. Hindi alcoholic pero it gives off the same vibe/feeling as cocktails.

any news with GQ mobile bar? I reserved them today at the bridal fair and buti we only have to pay for the ones who will drink only.. worry ko lang kase magpapaserve kame ng Jack Daniels and Beers, hindi naman siguro sila maguuwi diba? hehe! naninigurado lang..

My OTD coordinator suggested that I buy all the alcohol (at cost sa S&R) and just have a table set up with all the alcohol on the table, tapos may ipapatao nalang daw sya dun. So ang babayaran lang namin is the manpower. She said this dahil ang mahal ng mga mobile bar, tapos puro local alcohols lang din naman daw. At least pag kami bumili, medyo higher quality and yun mga drinks talaga na gusto nmain.

Not having a mobile bar at the wedding...

1. Fiance gave me a look when I asked and said, WTH mobile bar matagal nang laos yan!
2. We want to keep the wedding's formality so we will consider serving just wine, hard drinks, maybe no beers also.
3. We don't want the reception to look like a drunken club scene and enable people to get home safe.


I'll be having both a coffee and juice bar instead for my garden cocktails.

This is true. Mobile bars usually serve cheap local alcohol but they charge so much. It's probably because of the booth setup and the manpower that's why mahal. For our reception we're going to serve wine, scotch and champagne. Our priority would be the principal sponsors and the older guests. For our after-party we're going to serve local beer, craft beer, sparkling wine and hard drinks. Here our priority would be the younger people naman.

mobile bar was just a trend x years ago na nalaos na. dati super daming mobile bar suppliers but now konti na lang stayed in this business. i think people are starting to realize na hindi talaga sulit... just like candy buffets. i wonder what other wedding trends ang malalaos na soon.

When my fiance reacted violently i realized, oo nga noh medyo di nga pala sya fit for a formal event hehe. I just thought we needed to provide people alcohol. Which we still can. We're buying the alcohol ourselves and getting bar service from the caterer nalang. Di ko lang naisip agad that it can be not in the form of a mobile bar.

I agree juwie the photobooth is another trend that has already got to go and yet so many couples these days still think it's a mandatory! Does anyone ever keep those print outs or post them online? Feeling ko wala lang maipalit kaya ginagawa parin to. Kami we will just be dressing up certain nooks in the cocktail area to become "Instagram-worthy" but we won't be providing a photographer nor print-outs. Tutal mahilig naman mga tao to take their own shots and post them on social media!

Do most caterers in Manila not include alcohol/bar service in their packages? I've always been confused by the idea of a mobile bar.

I will say though that I don't think alcohol in and of itself detracts from the formality of an evening event. Maybe if you have a rough crowd it does? But most adults know how to enjoy themselves without going overboard

^I hope so but we cannot control our guests.. you never know. I've been to a wedding where there are drunken people randomly talking to other guests they don't know... just not a nice sight.
