Is it case to case, depending on your child's interview, if he/she can enroll in the 1st grade if he/she is shy by a few months to 6 years?

What time does a first grader's class start and what time does it finish?

yeah me too. another carabuena the child's father. I talked to my husband, I am also considering Ateneo now. I am scared for my kid since he will be enrolling if he pass for 2013 sy.

He could've used his words.. I know he got emotional because his apo got hurt.

Despite this, I still allow my kids to spend time with their friends after class. I don't pick my kids up early so they can bond and do hw together. Good for me as well because no traffic when I go and pick them up.

i think he is the father of the kid na sinapak ng other kid (the one who got tired of his son's bullying).. so the grandmother nung bata na tinutukan will file a case yata.

^I stand corrected. Thanks sis. Went back to this thread after I re-read the article. Parang he is the father of the bully. Si Lola, ang apo niya ang na-bully, ang nagpunta sa radio station.

Nakakahiya ang mga taong ganito. Really?! And it had to be at my kids' school...

Well, for parents out there, I didn't know of this incident except that we did receive a circular (most probably right after that incident) about new security procedures. I have not changed any rules with my kids, still pick them up late (they love it so much at school that they request me to pick them up at a later time), I even bring my toddler when I have to go pick them up.

I'm sorry if you have a change of heart in enrolling your kids at CSA.. I don't blame you but I'm not pulling my kids out. They super love their school, Fr. Rodriguez, their teachers, the LRT canteen, facilities, etc.

My son loves fr rodriguez also.. Hope the school will learn from that incident..i just wish it wont happen again..

@domestic diva but may i ask, the other kid had his father pointed gun with the suspended kid it should be both of them. My hubby told me it should be expulsion for the other kid..

There was an incident in the past. Bully was expelled from CSA. My son didn't see that particular bully this school year.

I see.. Pero for me what his father did is not just ground for suspension but expulsion. Honestly, sis I am thinking so hard if I want to enroll my son in case he passes this October 11

@domestic diva - I don't know what the longstanding rule is.  I never had the opportunity to test it  (joke lang) although I think what happened was very wrong.  The kid shouldn't have hit another student and the father shouldn't have meddled in the students' affairs.  Maybe the PTA should take a firm stand regarding this and push for the expulsion of the parent (and his son) so the school can set an example that they are serious with bullying (by students and parents).

Let us not be so hasty in ridding the bullied student of any fault.  We do not know what really happened.  There are different sides to a story.  The fact is that the father pointed a gun at a student and that is all we know.

Also, enrolling or transferring your child to another school doesn't mean he will be safe from bullying.  Bullies exist (in schools, in offices, in homes); we have to teach our kids how to handle them.
