@erl:TB ba or COPD ang sakit ni Lolo? Hindi kasi nakakahawa ang COPD, unless meron siyang COPD and TB at the same time. Aside from Lolo, meron bang iba pang nagpa-xray sa household niyo?@drex:Pyrazinamide lang ba ang meds niya? Wala bang kasama na Isoniazid and Rifampicin yung pyrazinamide? Kasi the usual treatment for PC consists of the 3 meds: Isoniazid, Rifampicin and Pyrazinamide. After 2 months of treatment, we stop the pyrazinamide pero continue pa rin ang Isoniazid and Rifampicin to complete at least 6 months of treatment. We don't usually do x-rays after 2 months of treatment kasi matagal mawala ang x-ray findings. Hindi rin SOP na mag-xray at 6 months. Stopping treatment at 6 months would depend on clinical improvement. @jhenbreak:Aside from chest x-ray, meron bang nagpaPPD sa inyong 7 to determine exposure? How about AFB smear (examination of phlegm to determine activity of TB)? Since 2 kids ang nagkaroon sa household, then most likely kung sino ang pinakamadalas nilang kasama ang source. Para magkaTB, usually repeated exposure yun over a long period of time.@gheb:As I said in my earlier post, hindi mawawala ang kulani since it is part of the lymphatic system and lahat tayo meron kulani, except na lang ang patients na may problem sa immune system. As to kung kailan liliit or hindi na makakapa, it would depend on the cause of the paglaki ng kulani. Usually kung bacterial infection at nagtreat na ng antibiotics, after a few weeks, liliit na ito or babalik sa original size. Sa TB, it takes months for it to go back to its original size.
