naawa na ako sa anak ko. Pumapayat nanaman sya. Dati okay okay na katawan nya, payat peroat least may laman na onti. Then just recently nilalagnat sya then dinala ko sa pedia nya, kaso hindi dumating. SO advised ng mom ko dalhin sya sa lung specialist since nakitaan sya sa past xray nya ng pneumonitis, and the fact na meron sya primacy complex pa plus asthma. Sabi nung specialist, grabe daw yung mga kulani nya sa may likuran ng ears and sa may batok, pinapa antibiotics. Eh katatapos nya lang 1month ago wala naman nangyari bumalik pa rin kung ano meron sya ngayon. Nanga ngalumata na anak ko (he's only 4), tapos lumalabas nanaman yung ribs nya

Sya po yung sinabi ko before na nag relapse daw yung primary complex nya kaya nirepeat namin ang KID KIT 3.

Doctora, hinge naman po ko sainyo second opinion. Ano sa palagay nyo nangyari sa anak ko?

doc lelet, possible po ba na bumalik yung PC ng bata after 1 yr lang since natapos treatment?


Kasi noon 9 months po nag-take yung toddler ko ng PC meds, then etong a few months di na naman siya nag-gain weight, this week lang napansin namin pumayat siya halos kasabay po ng ubo niya. Nilagnat muna tapos inubo. She's taking ambroxol for cough.

Pag-ganito po ba ie-xray po siya ulit ng pedia?
Then kung PC, same procedure po ulit ng gamutan?

Where you able to find the source of his 1st PC infection? Nagtreat ba ang source? Proven ba talaga na nag-relapse ang PC niya?
Ongoing ba ang repeat treatment niya for PC?
Pneumonitis just pertains to viral infection that causes lung inflammation. It is not related to PC.
Regarding the enlarged lymph nodes at the back of the ears and head, it usually happens kapag may sipon or may ear infection. Usually kapag PC, nasa neck area ang enlarged lymph nodes.
Hindi lahat ng paglaki ng kulani ay dahil sa PC.

Same question: Where you able to find the source and treat the source of her PC?
If your daughter was able to complete treatment and the source of the PC also got treated, then there is little chance for the PC to come back right away.
If treatment compliance was an issue, pangit ang response sa initial treatment or treatment was stopped before cure was achieved and the source was not found and treated, then if your child gets exposed to an adult with TB at at time when her immune system is down, then there is a possibility of re-infection.
The need for chest x-ray will depend on the history and physical examination of the patient so your pedia is the best person to answer that question.

My baby was already diagnosed with Primary complex and then 6months po ang gamutan,but recently lang po nagkaroon sya ng ubo at sipon na may kasamang low grade fever so pumunta po kami agad ng pedia may niresta na gamot for cough and colds
Triplex syrup and immunosin for 1 week.tapos [textspeak!] nya tigil Ko muna ng 1wik [textspeak!] rifampicin.ok lang ba un doc na itigil ang rifampicin?pro continue pa rin ang isoniazid at pyrazin?tnx

@leletmd:: doc, nabanggit lang nung pinoy doctor dito sa amin na may iba pang way/test para malaman na may tb aside fr the xray kaya baka gusto daw namin i try sa mga kids. hindi daw biased ang result.

^ From what I know, hindi siya equivalent ng chest x-ray. More of alternative siya for the tuberculin test or the PPD and it doesn't determine activity of the disease.

Did she explain why rifampicin was discontinued? For how many months na ongoing treatment ng anak mo?
Hindi kasi basta basta tinatanggal ang rifampicin unless there is a valid medical reason for discontinuation like the patient developed side effects or allergic reactions, etc.

hi doc lelet, its my first time here..

im so worried with my son meron po siyang isang kulani sa taas ng batok, meron din po sa likod ng ears both sides and sa neck meron din po sa singit niya.. he's 1 year and 4 months. naipacheck up ko na po siya, nakapag PPD test na rin po and its negative pero nabasa po ang arm ni babay rigth after na inject,napaliguan po kasi.sa x ray na man po pneumonia [textspeak!] impression..  meron po siyang parang fungal infection sa base ng rigth ear na maliit po..he is not taking any medication as of now since di ko pa po naibabalik sa pedia,sabi naman po ng tita ni hubby na doctor ok lang daw un,he doesn't need any medication daw..he weighs 9.5 kg lang po..ano pa po ba any possible reason sa kulani niya?do we need to have PPD test again?..

I suggest you clarify it with her. We don't usually discontinue medications unless there is suspicion of adverse drug reactions.
At 2 months from start of treatment, saka tatanggalin ang PZA.

We all have lymph nodes (kulani) distributed all over our body. They are part of our immune system. Their job is to make antibodies when there is infection, injury or inflammation. That's the time na lumalaki sila and madali silang makapa.
Those without lymph nodes are considered immunodeficient. Mababa ang resistensiya at walang panlaban sa infection or injury.
So, I agree with your tita doc. Do not be worried kasi it means that your son has an active working immune system. Possible reason for his enlarged lymph nodes is the pneumonia and fungal infection.
Second, ok lang kahit na nabasa ang PPD. Hindi naman bawal maligo kapag nagPPD. Ok lang ito mabasa. Getting it wet doesn't have any effect on the PPD results. Ang bawal lang ay: to scratch the PPD site, to put steroid cream or ointment kasi eto ang makaka-affect sa PPD size.
(Scratching it might make it bigger than it is suppose to be while applying steroid creams or ointments on the area may make it smaller.)

my 2nd child nagka Primary complex yng 1 year old sya due to nahawa kay hubby- so lahat kami non nag undergo ng treatment specially hubby for 6 months ( he's a soldier kasi) ako naman 2 months lang dahil clear naman ang xray results ko.

nung sat pinacheck up ko si 2nd child kasi di naalis yung kulani sa leeg ask ni pedia how long na sabi ko  a year na .. kasi daw may history ( akala ko di na babalik yun dahil 6 months kami gamutan - 6 years ago na din)

eto nakuha namin results positive PTB and Pneumonia po nalungkot naman ako - mamaya punta kami kay pedia kinakatakot ko baka may positive na may TB sa amin ulit (wag naman sana kasi may 9 months baby laging may ubo't sipon din eh).

update ko na lang kayo mga sis kung ano medication i preprescribed ni pedia.

If it has been 6 years since she had her initial treatment and she has been exposed to someone with TB at a time na mahina ang resistensiya niya, then, yes, there is a possibility of recurrence. If proven to have TB again, I suggest that you look for the current source and have your 9 month old baby tested also.

Hi Doc. I have here my concern po, this is our situation.

We live with my in-laws po. Me, my 1yr old son and my hubby together with my Mother and father in-law. We visit to my parents very seldom if have time like vacation. Our side had a history of TB specially my mother, and we are like family having very weak lungs, cough is not unusual thing for us on our side. I don't know po if it is only a co-incidence that after we had our vacation to my parents, and we went back home,  after 1 to 2 days, magkakasipon na siya then uubuhin na. this is for the second time only. (baka naman po nagkataon lang)

My mother-in-law naman po is always coughing she said due to allergy daw. I dont know. But she assured that she had a clear lungs.

I dont know what to do. I will have my x-ray and my hubby next week and hopefully were clear. I dont have the gusts to tell also my in-laws and on my side to have an xray too. They are too sensitive pa naman. Baka sabihin sa akin, huwag na kami pumunta dun.

I was thinking po na kahit magamot si baby but the source was not discover, paulit ulit lang. i was crying i dont know what to do.

I think the first thing you have to do is to confirm if your baby does have PC.
Dapat complete ang documentation: chest x-ray and PPD results supporting the diagnosis of PC. Once it is confirmed, you can ask for a recommendation from your pedia stating that all close household contacts undergo testing to determine the source. Baka sakali mas madali pumayag ang family members na magpatest for TB.
From what I remember from your last post, negative ang PPD test and chest x-ray ng anak mo, pero pinagtake ng Isoniazid for prevention. Now, since the pedia is requesting for repeat PPD and chest xray,
confirm mo muna ang diagnosis before you ask anyone to undergo testing. Kadalasan kasi talaga sensitive issue ito among family members kaya better if may confirmation.

thanks doc lelet. today po namin makukuha ang result ng x-ray ng anak ko and on wednesday he will have his PPD test again, hoping and praying that all test will be ok. God Bless

thanks doc letlet- nag start na si ate ng kanyang medication- sabi dr empty stomach 1 hour before bfast, 1 hr b4 lunch and 1 hr before ng dinner ko sya pinapa inom- nag iisip ako pano kaya pag may pasok na-

hi..

idk if my 2 yr old son has this symptoms. he has this node sa leeg. and yun nga ang impression ng pedia na may primary complex ang bata. so nagpa x-ray kami kahapon and CBC. i got the result this day. unfortunately the doctor was out when i got all the results (chest xray & CBC - as required by the pedia).

my question:
ano ang ibig sabihin nitong result ng xray? is this positive na may primary complex ang anak namin?

worried na kasi kami ng misis ko
hirap magmedicate ng bata lalo na pag antibiotic ang gamot

Hilar adenopathies just refer to enlarged lymph nodes seen in the hilar portion of the lungs. It may or may not pertain to PTB. It would be best to ask your pedia so that clinical correlation can be made. Hindi lang kasi labs ang basehan ng pag diagnose for PC. Try to back read for the criteria needed to diagnose PC or TB.

unfortunately may PC yung bata according to pedia's findings
he's now taking his meds almost a month na.
balik kami sa pedia this week or next week for follow up check up
ang hirap magpa inom lalo na pag anti biotic
