sis check mo ito sa simbahan kasi sa pagkakaalam ko, pag Catholic, kailangan kasal muna sa church before you can have this kind of wedding. ganyan din ata nangyari kina Maggie Wilson. what they did eh nagpakasal sila sa church nung umaga, tapos nung hapon yung beach wedding.

a friend of mine had a simple wedding last summer. they had just bought their first home together a few weeks back so they decided to get married in their backyard at sunset. the bride wore a simple white silk dress carrying a bouquet of white roses and the groom wore a cream suit. just close family and friends were there(maybe just 20-30 people), they were married by their pastor (who knew them since they dated in high school) , exchanged solemn heart-warming vows and signed their marriage license on a tree stump. afterwards we had an intimate dinner in their patio catered by their favorite thai restaurant. they still had the traditional cake cutting, toasts, bouquet toss, dancing... it was a lot of fun. just goes to show you that weddings don't have to be extravagant affairs - they can also be practical, after all, how many people do you know who get married and already own their home, right?

Two of the richest people I know, both med school friends (one owns her own hacienda, another is the son of a diplomat and big-time lawyer), got married very simply. Guests lang nila family and close relatives, and their reception was in a yacht.

cute naman ng thread na ito at natawa ako sa mag take home ng food as gifts. malamang walang bridezillas dito :P

sa family namin we weren't rushed to marry  actually ayaw nila kami ipamigay so weddings weren't that big of a deal.  what mattered more was the happy ever after the wedding like a one month honeymoon to some really rad place and  looking forward to the bright future ahead.  so kahit na i-imagine ko having everyone around makes the thought awkward lalo na when it came to the "you may kiss the bride" part. i remember even thinking na naka jeans lang ako and kahit kami na lang nung pari and walang iba...maski the groom wala (joke) was fine with me. basta may go signal lang ng pari ok na sa akin.

importante sa parents was as long as the man who wishes to marry us makes a decent woman out of us by sanctifying the bond through marriage would make them happy.  now, i still look forward to a simple ceremony, something hassle-free,  pero instead of jeans a nice simple dress na.

nakakatuwa naman magbasa dito..  ;D

congrats sa nag-start ng thread, tapos na kaya ang wedding niya? i hope you had your sweetest simplest wedding you planned for. :)

Me and h2b are currently planning our wedding (traditional, 200 guests), eh kung mag-present kaya ako sa kanya ng Option B-simple intimate wedding?
Uubra kaya to?:

nung tuesday sinabi ko yun kay h2b, sabi niya in faith, God will provide for everything that we'll need and more. :)

Thank you so much mga sis!  :)

hope some of our sissies will share more ideas about this.

i'm planning to have one too next year. just wedding rites lang..

live-in na rin naman set-up namin, so preferred namin rites lang.. saka we just wanted to have blessing from God  ;)

^ same here sis esmeggle, kaya from the start, intimate wedding din ang plano namin ni bf... we're thinking: family-only ceremony (as in immediate family lang naming dalawa) and then all others (50pax) sa dinner reception na lang... no entourage din and no more than 2 pairs of sponsors...

medyo madami din kids sa guestlist so far (age 10 and below) so i'm thinking of activity bags for them (crayons, puzzles siguro) na lang para di mainip...

i had my wedding last sept 16 civil lang then lunch sa patio carlito for 30 pax (strictly family) then inuman with friends (light dinner then drinks) at 77 cafe.

what i like about both places ay yung artsy fartsy theme. ayoko kasi ng reception na with drapes and curtains tapos picture picture bawat table  ;D hehe. hindi ako masyadong cheesy na tao so ayoko ng may mga speech and tradition etc. ang important for me is the ambiance ng place and sarap ng food. we also spend on a  quality wedding ring na kasi we decided na if ever we get married again sa church same wedding ring na yung gagamitin. :)

mukang talagang need ko mag wedding rites lang, kasi may h2b is a methodist, at ayaw niyang mag-convert. hay. ayoko rin naman mag-convert. hindi ko alam gagawin ko =(

but on the bright side, we can have a simple garden wedding na lang.. kasi gusto niya pastor mag-bless sa amin...

does anyone of you sisses have the same scenario as mine?

^hi sis! I can relate to your situation. I'm a catholic while hubby is a mormon. Ayoko din magpa convert pero si hubby willing but I did not let him para wala ng mahabang usapan pa sa side nila. We're planning to have a christian wedding dahil mukhang di approve yung family ni h2b na mag catholic wedding kami.
