hi moms! my son's 1st birthday will be on jan 30th, and i'm getting verleo as my caterer. however, just today, i received a call from them that my venue is asking for 12% of the total amount i'll get from them, and 20k security bond. they said they don't pay for that.

nangyari na din ba ito sa inyo? does verleo really don't handle those expenses. kasi para sakin mas reasonable kung yun 20k security bond e sila ang mag shoulder, kasi ibabalik naman yun if walang damage or nawala. parang medyo hindi ko gusto un idea na ako magpay nun, then if may damage, ako din ang mag shoulder.

pls enlighten me, sino ba talaga dapat mag shoulder nun?

^ dear, i believe, most of the catering service provider (please correct me if i am wrong) really don't shoulder those extra charges being charged by the venues.

we do wedding coor na rin kasi and part of the client's responsibility to provide us a copy ng contract ng client with the catering service provider nila.. madalas na naming mabasa yan na any charges that venue will implement will not be paid by them.

ikaw talaga ang magso-shoulder nun.

pero heto naman ang question ko sa venue... para saan yung 12% and bakit kailangang maging basehan yung contract price ninyo ng catering service provider mo?

Sis kasi daw non accredited members sila kaya need nila ng catering fees and security bond. Iba pa yun sa security bond na ibibigay ko.

So sakin ok na na ako magshoulder sa catering fee. But dun sa security bond nila for the venue, nagaalangan ako. Ganun ba yun sis, if nakasira un caterer ko ako ba talaga sasagot nun? Feel ko kasi na magulo pag ganun, hindi ko naman kasi control din un tao nila.

Ganun talaga.. ikaw talaga ang magso-shoulder ng security bond kasi hindi lang naman yung caterer ang possible na makasira eh...

I am not throwing stone to anyone, huh? But possible naman talaga na yung decor supplier mo or even guests.

May mga decor suppliers po kasi na kahit na sinabi nang bawal yung ganito, gagawin pa rin kasi ang point nila, magawa nila whatever they have promised to their client... whatever it takes... My point naman sila... kung tayo yung client, I am sure, ganun din ang expectation natin. Kesahodang mag-tumbling sila diyan basta makita mo kung ano yung nai-promise na nila at hindi siya mababago dahil lang sa pinagbawalan silang magkabit ng ganito or ganyan. You will definitely say na, "eh di sana nag-ocular muna kayo bago kayo nag-propose ng ganyang design para nalaman na ninyo kung ano lang ang puwedeng gawin." And problem comes in pag yung decor supplier mo eh set up lang ang gagawin and won't stay to pull out whatever they have installed within the venue. Two things na ngayon ang puwedeng mangyari diyan:

1. Staff ng catering service ang magta-tanggal - sometimes, the client ask them the favor of removing a few kasi ipamimigay sa mga guests or sila mismo ang mag-uuwi. The thing is, since hindi naman sila ang nagkabit, no idea sila kung paano ito tatanggalin nang maayos talaga. Plus, siyempre mas gusto nilang unahin yung work talaga nila which they are paid of and not anything else na hindi naman talaga included sa job description nila. Kaya at times, nagmamadali silang magawa agad ito at medyo careless na. Dun nagkakaroon ng problema or possibility na maka-damage. And against their will, sila ang mapagbibintangang na-damage.

2. Guest ang nagta-tanggal - may mga guests na hindi po makapaghintay na matapos ang party at pinipitas na yung mga decor sa ceiling and wall (may na-witness pa nga ako na yung sa entrance mismo). Pero minsan naman, nagta-tantrums na kasi yung mga baby nila and ang way nila para malibang yung bata is thru balloons na kailangan ngang pitasin pa from the set up. And just like mentioned above, they don't have any idea kung paano ikinabit iyun at ano ang possible na damage na puwedeng ma-create nito if they will continue doing it. Heto na ngayon, since catering service ang huling-huling nagpu-pull out, sila ang mapagbibintangan ng Admin na nakasira.

On the other hand, may mga decor suppliers talaga that leave a staff or stay talaga during the entire party to ensure na kung may mga guests na ganito, maawat agad nila at matutulungang makakuha ng balloons in a proper way. But just the same, kung hindi ganito ang set up ng nakuha mong supplier, you can't demand them or you can't blame them kung mag-charge sila ng extra for asking them to leave a staff or ask them na bumalik pa para mag-pull out.

Bottomline, ikaw ang responsible sa kung ano ang puwedeng maging act ng mga suppliers na ikaw rin ang kumuha at idagdag pa siyempre yung act na puwedeng gawin ng mga guests mo. But if you trust your suppliers and guests, i think, you don't have to worry that much dahil sure ka na mababalik sa iyo ng buo yung security bond. Medyo mabigat lang talaga sa bulsa... but then, wala tayong choice eh. Take it or leave it yan. Ang ending, ikaw pa rin ang magsa-suffer kung magmamatigas kang di magbayad.

sis wala nga akong choice.

pero sis, iba pa kasi yan sa security bond na babayaran ko. yan kasi ay security bond ng venue for the caterer mismo. so additional pa siya.

as of now, wala pa naman sinasabi si decor sakin, hay.. baka naman may bond na naman sila at need ko na naman mag pay... tsk tsk

yes.. it's always for the caterer ang sinasabi ng admin kasi more often than not naman, puwedeng walang decor pero laging may caterer...

as i mentioned nga, nakakalungkot kasing isipin na kahit hindi caterer ang nakasira, laging sila ang napagbibintangan kasi sila ang unang dumarating sa venue at huling umaalis din.

kaya nga when it comes to sponsorship and endorsement, laging ang tinatanong nila kung sino ang caterer, but they don't ask kung sino ang magdi-decor.

girl, medyo madami kasi yung mga choices nila.. the best is for you to call them and ask them to email or fax it to you... kasi kung ipo-post natin dito, baka too long... he-he.. mapapagalitan tayo ng admin...

Okay na sis, mabilis naman pala sila magreply. Okay na kaya yung 230 package nila... Isip ako kung shakeys o catering na lang may venue kasi dito sa may church sa min.

honestly, most of us think na mas okay sa fast food or sa resto.... mas mabilis, mas madali, mas kumpleto...

pero if you really want to play with your theme and a stress free, the best is a plain venue plus catering service provider.

kasi pag sa resto or fast food, limited ang oras.

sis, my favorite beef dish from verleo are lengua estofado and sliced roast beef with mushroom sauce. ok din yung on the spot steak niya
