No. Natatakot ako na baka magkamali ako interpretation sa sign, kung meron man. Nagppray lang ako lagi.

Yes I do. Lalo na when reading the Bible. Andun talaga sagot Nya lagi. Nakaka-kilabot kasi you get to know His Holiness talaga.

This weekend I'm praying a sign for a career decision. Lift ko na lang everything to Him and may His will be done. :)

I was not  a novena person but my friend introduced me to the novena of st Therese the little flower of Jesus. Just out of the blue, I somehow did the novena and asked for a sign ( para bang I challenged its power ) . Lo and behold ... After the 9th day there was all white flowers in our school altar entrance , the church beside our school, and when I arrived home my mom said she bought me white chocolates . Kinilabutan talaga ako

^wow sis! Ang saya naman!!

I used to be a devotee of st. Jude eversince i passed the board exam in 2009.

And for that.. sa st. Jude kami nagpakasal ;)

I need your advice regarding "signs". I'm in a really confusing situation now...

I have "encountered" a guy online. I say "encounter" but that does not mean we actually talked to each other. It's a bit more complicated. Anyway, he is African. I started reading his articles etc. and as I read, I realize we share the same belief systems...as if he is literally taking the words out of my mouth. I started reading more and more and actually felt amazed at how similar our thoughts are.

At that time, I was personally undergoing a stressful and depressing phase in my life. I kid you not but at some point, when I saw a picture of him, I started crying...because I felt that I "like" this person but I know I cannot end up with this person because we are continents apart (and so what are the chances of me meeting him right?)

Anyway. Months passed and I still have the feeling. It feels stupid because I do not know him. And this is not like the celebrity crushes I've had (by the way, he is not a celebrity, just a small-time writer).

And in the midst of confusion and crying and stress, I asked God for a sign...A sign that if I am meant to have a shot (a 1 over a billion) with this person, send me a sign. The sign I asked for was when someone, or somewhere, I will encounter "Africa" but NOT online (coz that would be too easy) within the week.

I thought the person who will fulfill this sign was my father because he travels a lot and would often talk about his travels to me. But my father and I live in different houses and in that week, I chose not to visit him (for personal reasons). Last day of the week and I was already hopeless that the word "Africa" would show up. I spent the last day with friends in a birthday party. My friends informed us he would be traveling to Hawaii soon. I told him he should try traveling alone as it helps boost confidence. The conversation somehow led to a discussion of advantages of traveling alone.

We were sharing stories and travel tips and all. And it was my friend's turn to share his "solo travel" story but he could not come up with any because he said he prefer traveling with groups. So we next turned to a different topic (politics). And in the middle of discussion, that friend said, "Africa! I traveled to Africa alone!"

That sent chills down my spine. And I had goosebumps everywhere.

Africa. "He said Africa".

There's the sign. Now I still do not know whether I should believe the sign and where I should act on it. I mean, he is continents away. And for all I know, he has a girlfriend. And it is quite strange for someone whom he does not even know to just send him a message right? Do I tell him, "hey! I asked for a sign and God said I can have a significant shot at you!"

I am so confused. I feel hurt. I have stopped reading his articles because I do not want to get in too deep.

Any advice?

Pwede mo naman sis padalhan nang friendly message sabihin mo lang na gusto mo mga article nya and that you share the same beliefs.  Malay mo makipagkwentuhan sayo and yun na ang maging umpisa kung hindi naman at least nag try ka.

^ thank you for your advice! I am still afraid though, and hesitant to send the message. I mean, he may not be a celebrity but...he has a reputation in his circle (so he is like a "celebrity" of his own group).

And, is sending a private message even "normal"? Don't fans just post a comment or tweet or something (and not a private message)?

Normal naman ang mga private message ngayon sis. Kung gusto mo hintayin mo mag Christmas or New Year saka ka mag message para may occasion. Unless you try you'll never know.

I pray and ask for signs na very specific and out of this world.
And sometimes,  I find it weird na nangyayari naman.  But it makes me decide on it pa rin. Gulo ba?

Like say for example,  on my most recent job.  I prayed, sabi ko, if this is for me, I'll receive flowers today.  And my boyfriend never gives me flowers kasi he knows I'd choose chocolates over flowers hahaha

Aba, inuwian ako ng chicharon bulaklak.  Flower pa rin yun!!

At any rate, I still gave my decision some thought pa rin naman, but very mysterious lang na I asked for flowers, chicharon bulaklak dumating.

Nonetheless, the job that I took, mag 2 years na ako =)

Hey there.. You have a ver interesting story.

But I would say don't be afraid in trying. Kesa forever ka may what if's.

Also, this is the best way to find out if it's meant or not.

Say you send him a message, then he doesn't reply.  Now you know.
Or if he replies, you get to know him and interested rin siya sa'yo, then it was worth your effort pala.
Or, you get to know him tapos sorry for the term, pero "kups" or jerk pala, at least you know it's not your loss.

bottom line is, wala kang doubts or what ifs =)

There is nothing impossible in this world, we just have to take risks and be responsible for our actions. =)

^ Thank you sa advice!  Salamat at pinagtyagaan mo story ko.  Actually,  I have been thinking a lot about this.  And I realized,  if it's meant for me,  and if God wills it,  it will happen.  However,  I do realize that that is too much of a passive approach.  I know we also have to do the first step to achieving our goals. That's why I was thinking of sending the message to at least manifest to Universe what my desires are.  Trust me,  I was not a believer of manifesting and the Secret before all this.

So yeah,  at this point,  I am still torn.  But I am more convinced at not taking the step.  But I always have bouts of urges to send the message but whenever I do,  I end up cancelling the message.  :(

Hi!

I hope that you get enlightened on this soon para it doesn't bother you so much.

But if you decide to send that message, it will be a relief rin somehow because at least, you were able to face your fears and take that risk.  Then it's up to the universe to show you whether it's meant to be or not.  Lift it up to God on what's gonna happen next, but use your free will responsibly na lang =) Good luck again! xoxo

Do I ask God for signs? Always. Lalong lalo na kapag naguguluhan ako at hindi ko maikwento sa iba or ayoko humingi ng advise sa iba, I turn to Him and pray for signs.
This has been a habit eversince God gave me every sign I asked bago lumabas yung result ng NLE dati.

^I do. But still most of the time I doubt kung sign nga ba talaga yun from God. I am thinking of changing careers at 32 years old. I am married and have a son but at times, I feel like this is not what I want to do for the rest of my life. I always tell God to please tell me what to do pero naiisip ko baka namimiss ko yung mga signs na binibigay nya. Ang confusing ng life.

The most recent was 6 months ago.

isa sa natutunan ko sa paghingi ng sign is, just because we asked for it doesn't mean things will get easy for us. Sometimes, God even test us to make us even stronger for the challenges that might come along our way towards that path na hinihingan naten ng sign. of course, that is my POV lang naman.

I also realized na unanswered prayers lead us to something better. minsan kasi yung akala naten na ok saten hindi pala. like how, I got my first job, I never intended to be in that field dahil sa insecurities ko at takot na baka hindi ko magampanang mabuti yung task sa work. pero dahil gusto ko na din makapag work agad, nag try na ako sa offer ng HR and surprisingly, nakasurvive naman at napaka priceless ng experience yun nga lang kailangan ko ding mag bid farewell sa career na yun. kaya hindi ako nawawalan ng pag asa. maybe what I think I want is not right for me, yun nalang pinag papalagay ko sa unanswered prayer kasi pinapalitan naman ni God ng something better.

just want to share this personal experience of mine. you may skipped this though. hihi
------

I resigned from my previous work at the university dahil kokonti ang load ng subjects na ibibigay which is equivalent to deduc sa salary (dahil sa issues nga na kokonti subjects na hawak ng department namin sa 2nd sem dahil sa changes sa curriculum sa k-12). I passed the CSC the same semester din. started to do research for works sa metro manila sa IT industry. It took me 3 months to prepare. then dalawa ininapplyan ko, another university dto sa province namin pero not the same university where I previously worked, then sa isang IT firm. I passed the exams naman, then got into series of interviews and both passed. then around june, I received an offer sa school. but declined and started to pursue sa IT firm. -- sa pamimili ng tatanggapin sa dalawa, dun ako nanghingi ng signs. at halos lahat ng sign, I'm pretty sure sa IT firm sa metro manila pino-point out. so , without any second thoughts  ... i-pinush ko na ang application ko sa IT company only to receive a regret letter (failing a background check perhaps, even if hindi naman ako nag AWOL sa prev. job ko. maybe hndi enough credentials ko) few months later. and here I'am almost 1 year ng walang job. racket online wasn't enough dagdag pa ang crappy wifi service dto area namin ngayun. may financial problem din ngayun kaya hindi ako makapag apply sa iba pang firm, considering na mahal pamasahe from our province to NCR.

but....

the thing is, despite it all. I still believe in that sign I asked God. maybe, not particularly sa IT company na yun. The mishaps, I have experienced this year, made me realize a lot of things that I have taken for granted and things I was too blind to see before. to make things worst pa, my nosy relatives started treating me indifferently now being rendered jobless after my first job. my initial reaction at first ay maging resentful din sakanila in return pero as time goes by with financial problems sa family at being rendered useless despite na naka graduate nako at CSC passer. Napalapit ako lalo kay God, kasi wala na akong alam na malapitan. this november will official mark na 1 year na akong jobless if hindi pa ako nakanap. I'm thinking of applying muna ulit sa school or sa Call center industry muna. still, hoping that God has better plans for me. as for the sign, it's often naman much later naten bago marealize ang purpose why things despite the signs didn't happen they way we hope it to happen.
