It was surreal, I was 21 then and tinatago ko pa na pregnant ako, I was looking for places to buy para may malipatan kami. Then boom, I won the house at a bidding. Hinde sya liquid na 1M pero it was in my possession now na its worth 1M and more. I was so happy since ang goal ko was to have 1M before turning 25. I know it!!!

We have an investment plan here sa office na makukuha lang pag nag resign na. I invested 10% of my pay, auto-deduct so pwersa talaga ang ipon.
Sana mas maging disciplined ako sa pag tabi and iwas gastos.

Wala masyado nagsshare dito ng "how" nila.

Nakakainspire 'tong thread na 'to. Pero looks like hindi ko na 'to magagawa before 30. I'm turning 27 this year. Next year, magstart na yung amortization ng bahay na kinuha ko for my parents. So, malaki ang kakainin nun sa aking salary. I have plans rin of taking another loan next year to purchase naman a lot beside our house sa Makati. Wala pa rin akong sasakyan. Tapos I'm still starting to build yung emergency fund ng family namin. If mag resign ako sa pinagtatrabahuhan ko 5 yrs from now, I will definitely have my first 1MM.

^ Look for other ways of earning money sis. It's not impossible din if you believe in your goals. I am three-quarters away from 1M din tapos I don't have any car, currently building my emergency fund (mga 2 months na lang and I'm solved na). I purchased healthcare, tapos I'm saving up for our planned marriage. I have a COL account pero I want to focus muna sa Mutual Funds.

I wouldn't buy a house if hindi pa ako financially stable, I told myself. Mahirap kasi if ma foreclose lang. Invest muna ako sa several MF's for me to be able to afford paying for a house in cash. Para makatipid. I learned that from my friend who also study personal finance. :) Just saying para may option ka.

Baka kasi mahirapan ka if you're going to purchase 2 houses kaagad.

I shall skip the parts on what age the first million mark was reached. I would rather like to answer HOW.
It was through a realization on how financial management SHOULD be like.

Initial mindset was: Income - Expenses = Savings

New mindset became: Income - Savings = Expenses

With that formula, it was faster for me to set goals since the Savings component was constant and thereby, I was able to project when the first million will be, and so it did work for me. TRY it, perhaps this will work for you as well, the same way it did with me. Happy Saving!!!

just like what i said in my first post here, gusto ko magkamillion before i turn 32. im turning 28 on the 26th. is it still possible ba talaga? paano kaya? madami naman ang nagsabi sakin dito na posible, pwede ba pakisabi ulit kasi nawawala talaga ako sa sirkulasyon dito. puro pa man din ako gastos na reasonable naman. haay. penge naman tips mga sis.

malaki din factor yung sinabi ni sis insanelypurple na dapat nga constant ang savings mo over the expenses para maproject mo nga yung flow ng money mo. i will follow that tip as well. sana mareach nating lahat yung goals natin of having a million before we reach our desired age.

^you still have 4 years sis..so if you don't have any savings talaga you can save 685 per day sis and in 4 years you will have 1M na.  ;)

I can also suggest invest sa PSE your savings para mas lalong lumago but the problem is it is not guaranteed so pwede na after 4 years down ang market and di mo ma-hit ang target mo.  :D

^ mas malaki pa sa sweldo yung dapat ko isave. hehe. but im positive that i can. with hardwork, i can do it just like the other sisses here. this is the reason why i wantes to work abroad. the exchange rate is a big factor kasi.

i might also be investing my money in mutual fund. small lang ang kita but not that risky and if for longterm, lalago din naman sya. im not after the sobrang laking kita naman, basta lumago ok na, tulong na din yun. will be adding my source of income in the coming days. hopefully, magawa ko. :)

^sis pag longterm naman ang horizon mo you can go for high risk investment. Long term for me is atleast 10 years.

On the other hand may mga sis tayo dito that made their million kahit nasa pinas lang with sipag, tyaga and right mindset.

mine was a bit easy. salamat sa Diyos. it was when I had my 1st salary sa 1st job ko in Singapore. Since I was a foreigner when I applied eventually hired, I was given a relocation allowance. Kinda bulk, isang bagsakan.

Im proud of myself kasi imbis na gastusin yun syempre medyo marami, mas lalo pa akong nagkuripot. hehe. ayaw mabawasan kaya it was growing in a conscious/unconscious effort on my part.

I was 25 then.  ;)

sis yena, hindi ba nakakatakot yon? hehe. i will be considering it, kakalap muna ko ng infos so i know the risks. thanks for bringing up the idea na kahit nandito tayo sa pinas eh kaya natin magkamilyon. kaya din kase ako nagdadalawang isip sa abroad eh mahirap na din malayo sa pamilya and given na possible naman pala na magkamilyon din dito eh

this thread really inspires me to work harder.

since i got my car loan 2 years ago, I know it will be hard for me to get the big M anytime soon. but still, the car for me is an investment na din, it helped me save big time sa pamasahe namin. i can work longer hours too because mas mabilis na yung byahe ko to fetch the kids from school :)

but I'm hoping na after matapos yung loan (that's 2 years from now), makastart din ako ulit to save bigger amount per month. i'm a single mom so I cannot expect myself to rush through the finish line and win my first M agad kasi I have several financial obligations to meet. but with God's grace, He is able to sustain our needs and give me a lot more. I know darating din ako jan, not anytime soon but I know I will.  :)

^ two ways sis..magtipid and/or maghanap ng dagdag kita. Sabi nga ng mga Financial Guro na "it does not matter how much you earn but how much you save". :) Kaya yan!
