Sis pret_ty68, Regis is for mga upper management na, and their schedules are quite rigorous. For example, one of my classmates from Standard shifted to Regis, and ang classes ng schedule nila is from 6-10pm.  Regarding standard program, I know someone who used to take classes every Saturday, and she was able to manage just fine. Ang problem lang kasi if the subject that you need to take doesn't fall on a a Saturday. Btw, I took the standard program.

Thank you. Ganun pala akala ko pa naman yung regis ang hindi rigorous ang schedule. Baka standard na nga lang kunin ko kung mag decide ako na sa ateneo. Pinagiisipan ko kasi kung mag La Salle RCBC or Greenhills na lang kasi sabi mas ok daw ang schedule.

I enrolled few years back in DLSU-M for MS IRM but stopped. I wasnt happy back then.

Now that my work requires alot from me gusto ko pa din bumalik sa school. Anyone here enrolled in Miriam? Or from other schools under Industrial Relations?  Would love to have feedback sana

If only I have the  time to spare. Ang hirap kumuha ng MBA kung full time ang work no. Kasi even on weekends, lalo kapag project implementation ang field, busy pa rin.

^^well, the decision in choosing between MBA and MS Fin will actually depend on what career the person wants to pursue. yes MS Fin is more difficult than MBA, pero kung magaling naman ang isang tao at kaya niya ang MS Fin doesn't automatically mean that that should be the choice - it depends on the career that the person wants to pursue.

i had that MBA/MS Fin conversation with my manager before (who is very successful in his career), sabi niya sakin depende nga sa career na gusto mo i-pursue. kasi MS Fin is more on financial derivatives etc, so para yun sa ang mga career ay investment portfolio managers etc who deal with securities, commodities etc. BUT, if you're on the other aspect of finance (i.e., Management Acctg that deals with financial planning and analysis, Controllership roles) that deals with how to manage the profitability of the company then MBA will be more useful to you.

BUT, sabi din sakin ng manager ko na yun, kahit wala kang MBA pero you have a flourishing and successful work experience, equivalent na yun ng MBA (oops, opinion lang, wag ako barilin, hehe). kaya nga siya, di na niya tinapos masteral niya kasi sobrang grabe naman ang quality ng work experience niya, he really focused on his career and yung natutunan niya sa actual workplace was so much more significant than dun sa MBA niya. ang laki na nung business scope na mina-manage niya in Financial Planning & Analysis dahil nga sobrang malawak ang work experience niya kasi nakapag-focus na agad siya early on.

Sa PLM, pag managerial position ang hawak no need to take an entrance exam. Just interview.

mga sis ask ako sa MBA Non Thesis, after the comprehensive exam ba graduate ka na? or may kailangan pang ipasa for example feasibility study, etc.? Kasi may nabasa ako somewhere na marketing strategy lang daw yung Non Thesis, but in the end you still have to make Feasibility Study, edi parang ganun din yun. Sana nag thesis ka nalang.

Our school kasi wala kameng MBA Non Thesis. but you have option whether to make Thesis of Feasibility Study. After that you will graduate with MBA degree, kahit Feasibility Study an ginawa mo, MBA ka pa din. So kung sa ibang school na may Non Thesis pero may Feasib, I'd rather not transfer.

FYI: Plan ko kasi mag trasfer sa UE, MBA Non Thesis.

^ I'm no expert on these matters, but from what I've observed, tama, parang marketing ploy lang talaga yung thesis/non-thesis distinction.  (Very similar to the research/coursework distinction in other specializations.)

Just because it's marked "non-thesis" does not necessarily mean that you will not be required to submit a study of some sort.  Most likely, they'll require a study but it will just be allocated lesser units or a smaller percentage of your grade, but it's essentially the same thing.

Same amount of pagod, but a smaller piece of the overall pie.  Doon ka na lang sa thesis track.

Exactly! I have an MBA and I'm working on my second Master's. Even if you're getting a non-thesis, you are still required to submit a research paper. Kasing-dugo din ng thesis yun so why bother? Eh di mag-thesis ka na lang.

^^ Meron pang pag asa sis. Try applying in different schools. MOst probably iprobationary ka muna nila if mababa ang grade mo nung college.
Haisy miss ko na ang school. Nag MA na din ako and nasa thesis stage na ako. I finished the first 3 chapters of my thesis but when it came to the surveys hala di sumasagot ang respondents ko. ALso I was too busy at work because I transferred jobs then... Di ko tuloy natapos...
ANyways priority ko muna ang work ko sayang ang kita...
