But I'm not saying na walang nagiging successful sa simula pa lang. I hear more stories from people that it took them at months (three to six, typically) to find a job. Swerte na lang talaga sa tao kung high-paying job agad ang nakuha niya which happens but is quite rare.

And true, you buy brand new cars and even not so old cars through a loan to be able to afford the payments. Very much the same in the Philippines if you want a brand new or second hand cars that are not over 5 years old.

Check SOL muna if andun ang course or work experience mo tapos I think you have to undergo assessment. Ako sis under student visa diy ako and walang bond na nirequire sa akin. Yun lang ang mahal ng tuition fee and malaki ang show money kasi may family na ako. If you're considering to get a certificate courses may mura naman. Check with IDP wala naman bayad yun.

@gumdrops26 : That pinoy is not close to me. Nabasa ko lang sa blog (I forgot the link na) how he first started out in Sydney where his siblings are but sa Adelaide siya pinalad. In demand yung skillset niya sa IT. Daming magandang offer but mas pinili niya ang Adelaide. He's one of the lucky few na sinwerte with a good offer. Yung friend ko sa Adelaide was able to meet him & his wife. Yes, they're currently renting. Kasama din pala sa perks ng company yung twice a year na uwi nilang mag-asawa sa pinas. With regards to his dream car, sabi ni friend it's a surplus car na matagal na niyang gustong bilhin sa Pinas, dun niya lang sa Oz nabili. 

@ freelancer_babe : If 40% is the maximum tax in Oz (depende sa wage bracket), not bad pa rin. At least naibabalik yun in the form of benefits. Couldn't help but compare with our taxes here.  As mentioned before, 32% of hubby's wages goes to taxes, di naman sulit ang benefits na nakukuha natin from our taxes.

Well, wherever we decide to settle in does not guarantee it will give us a comfortable life unless we work hard to achieve it. Lifestyle is relative. Nasa atin pa rin yun if we want to settle for less or enjoy what's best.

^^^Hi mga sissy!  bago ako sa thread na ito and im happy after  2 and half years I'm back sa GT...sana for good na kasi na miss ko chikahan sa GT...Nuon binabasa ko lang ang thread na ito pero ngayon i can share some happenings here dito sa WA..nasa world record naman na one of the most  liveable and most expensive country to live ay OZ..pero kagandahan dito ay equal ang lahat..hindi mo makikilala mahirap at mayaman..mahal mag rent ng bahay, medyo mataas ang bilihin pero mataas din naman ang sahod kaya okay lang...Tungkol naman sa family allowance na natatanggap ay depende sa kinikita ng mag-asawa at kung ilan ang anak...i have 5 kids so natatanggap namin ay AUD$700+ every fortnight at depende din yan sa ages ng mga bata.. meron din silang education allowance na binigay na ng buo hindi tulad last year na kukunin pa sa tax rebate..at because nag BOOm ang WA next year tatanggap sila ng maraming skilled workers lalo na kailangan sa mining..kaya ibang aussie labor union ay umaangal na at pipopost na nila sa mga newspaper na kailngan itrain ang mga WA kids for their future kasi baka mawalan na daw ng trabaho..kaya almost every week my dumadating na pinoy dito..hindi mawawalan ng pinoy saan kaman magpunta sa mall..sa shop anywhere..kaya GOODLUCK sa lahat na gustong pumunta dito.

Hi girls! I need advice. My fiancee is  currently working in Melbourne and he will apply for PR status in Oct. His migration agent adviced him to get married frist before application bec it' is the best way. But my parents wanted him to get his PR first before marriage so it is sure na he will permanently stay in Australia. Now my question is, If he gets his PR next year is it better to marry in pinas then go to australia or get a tourist visa and marry in OZ? TIA

^its better siguro sis na magpakasal na kayo sa pinas before applying his PR para madali kaniyang kunin at kasama ka na nya sa pag aplly nya ng PR dito..para isang applyan lang at isang bayaran sa agent.

Hi, Sisses. I just our visa today and I need your help. We'll be flying for Melbourne on 20th of this month kaso di ko alam kung san ako magbook. Hahaha. Suggestion naman. Ako muna kasi at ang baby ko na 2 years old mauna. Nalilito ako if PAL (direct flight), Malaysian Airlines( 1 stop over) or qantas kuhanin ko (1 stop over). Gusto ko sana PAL problem ko lang is baka wala sila individual monitor/ tv to entertain my baby. Para sana makawatch sya ng movie or makapaglaro ganon. Ang natry ko pa lang kasi for long hauls emirates and maganda talaga sya kaso parang OA naman if yun kuhanin ko. Hahaha. Feedbacks naman kung alin airlines ako magbook yung maganda service with reasonable fee. Tia!

@layzieg...kasi kami ng mga kids ko pumunta dito 457 visa then my husband apply for PR when we are here na..most of our friends ganun din ginawa kasi yun ang advice ng mga agent nila. Meron nman kaming friend na citizen yung lalaki dito kinasal sila sa pinas pero yung girl pagdating dito ay marriage de facto visa nya blah blah...wait pa sya for 4years para mag applay ng citizenship nya..

There is no Australian law that prohibits an Australian citizen or a person domiciled in Australia from marrying a citizen of Philippines and that a marriage celebrated in PI according to the law of Philippines between an Australian citizen or person domiciled in Australia and a citizen of Philippines would normally be recognized as valid in Australia. Hence, your fiance or spouse can be your sponsor. Its up to you if you want to do a TV first but it's illegal to get married there if your only a Tourist Visa holder. You can do it but make sure they won't find out. So may i suggest to stick on the right process.

^Sub Class 856 or Permanent Resident is valid for 5 yrs..kung ayaw magcitizen okay lang basta irenew lang yung visa..my hubby is already 5 yrs here in WA pwede na syang mag apply ng citizenship kaya lang hindi kami makakasama ng 2 oldest children ko ages 17 and 16 kasi almost 2 yrs pa lang kami..thats why we plan na pag four years na kami which is on 2014 magaapply ng citizenship....And be sure na kapag magpapasa kayo ng papers is all legal at hindi gawang recto because Immi knows it.

sa oz the more oz citizen children you have the huge amount money you get ''family allowance'' so much better wag na mag work para may family support. LOL thus, your reaping other tax payer's money. Lagot!

^hindi lang nman citizen ang nakakatanggaap ng family allowance basta na PR my anak at legible ka..makakatanggap ng tulong mula sa Centre Link kasi talagang binibigay ng gov't ng OZ yun..at kapag hindi mo kinuha naka stay lang yun sa centrelink...pwede pa syang ilump sum.at my sarili silang computation..ishare ko lang sa inyo ngyari sa isang friend nmin....isa syang manager ng fastfood dito at yung hubby nya ay nagwowork sa western power may isa silang anak..lumapit sila sa centrelink binigyan sila ng tulong pero after a year pinapabalik sa knila yung binigay because they notice lumabas sa assessment ng tax nila malaki ang kinikita nila annually...kaya kung lalapit sa centre link be sure na tama lahat ng info kasi na kalink lahat ng access dito.

hi! newbie on this thread. visitng from another thread. resident of the Abu Dhabi thread po ako. anyhoo, last night, hubby and I were talking of checking other countries to work at and we are eyeing OZ. 

mahirap bang mag apply for immigrant visa?

we did this free online assessment and pumasa namn kami. we are both civil engineers.  no kids yet.

what are our chances of getting a visa?  and ano po yung requirements for application including fees and does the application need show money?

Thanks everyone for the help. But if I will follow my mom's request and that is for my fiancee to get his PR first before we marry, how long will I have to wait until I get my PR? I think I need to apply for prospective marriage first and then PR? and after 2yrs when he's a citizen I have to wait 4yrs? tama ba?

@iamoptimistic hi, girl! Naglodge na ang friend ko last tuesday afternoon. i hope she'll be granted a visa. No confirmation from the embassy until now kung nareceive na nila. She went sa via center personally. Kaloka maghintay. She's so anxious!
