i've been looking for ways to earn while on h4 and glad that i found out there is a way hehe!:D

^legally wala. haha. pero for sometime, I worked part-time for a friend who was starting their home health business. I took care of their office (payroll, admin duty, masterlist etc) and they paid me cash. This friend is a Filipino so he understood that I can be included in the payroll, it was a great way to pass time din.

I would suggest to all H4 to make proper use of your time, be it volunteer, training, etc kasi sa ngayon na naghahanap ako ng work (because of EAD) one recruiter called me up and asked me what I had been doing since 2008 (the year I left Manila). Hindi ko kasi nilagay sa resume ko na nag-volunteer ako at ng-training. Sabi nya ilagay ko daw yun, employers will see that I have been making use of my time productively compared to just sitting around waiting for the papers to be filed. So I updated my resume and included the "volunteer" work that I did as well as trainings. And true enough, mas madaming nagreply na employers sa application ko. FYI lang and I hope it helps you guys.

^oo nga dapat talaga may nakalagay kahit volunteer work. dyan ako busy before, mga community work pero kailangan ko rin ng pang shopping (hahahhaha) kaya naghanap ako ng way to earn kahit konti. yung ginagawa ko naman now is very convenient kasi sa house lang yet ok ang pay.

you're lucky sis for having a friend na may business. hindi kasi lahat may kakilala kaya hindi rin nabibigyan ng opportunity to earn yung iba. atsaka dapat rin kasi talaga kilala mo ng husto yung tao dahil pag nagkataon na nagkaron kayo ng misunderstanding e puwede ka yariin.

I hear you when it comes to having some sort of income for shopping! and you're right when you said that not everyone has a friend who has their own business. I'm very lucky on that aspect nga.

Itong last na ni-interviewhan ko, the interview went well that they went and ask for my references. I used this friend as a reference kasi sya din naman ang boss ko. Goodluck sa iyong venture sis. Before naisip ko mag-ebay eh. Kaso lang kelangan may pondo din naman before ka mag-benta. Pero may naiisip akong sideline ngayon, chika ko sayo kapag nag-flourish.

^based sa mga kilala ko, swertihan din talaga sa ebay. sabi nung mga friends ko who are lucky to have reg customers, sakit din ng ulo minsan lalo na pag may returns. hindi naman puwedeng hindi tanggapin kasi nakakasira ng rep. atsaka oo nga kailangan ng malaking pondo at syempre kailangan maibenta ang pinondo!:D

sige lang sis chika mo lang sa akin pag ok na yang sideline mo hehe. baka rin type mo yung sideline ko, you can earn $5-8 for 2-3 minutes of work.

I teach English as a secondary language to Koreans -- I do it online so it's considered legal   When I'm not teaching, I plan and conceptualize events mostly for Manila-based corporations.  And oh, I do wedding planning, too

Very true! The reason why I worked as an online teacher even though it's not my real line of work is because I wanted to have something on my resume while I'm on H4.  Mahirap kasi maging idle, employers would think hindi ka naging productive for X number of years.

My husband is also on H4, he is really bored pero he gets by sometimes by doing referee jobs in basketball games dito sa place namin.  And sometimes, some Mexicans ask him to join their teams sa basketball league nila, what's nice is may pot money ang winner, so everytime his team wins, he gets part of the money too Just wanted to share para sa mga hubbies naman on H4

^^ Sis, we do it via Skype.  There are 3 types of classes: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  All types cover pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and writing.  Students study either 2x or 4x a week Korean time so you have to make adjustments if you're based in the US. e.g. if a student wants to study at 8pm and you're in California, you have to get on before 2am.  As for the application process, just like in CR teaching, you have to submit your resume, fill-up a form, attend an interview, and undergo an online class demonstration with the administrator.
