eto na kwento ko medyo mahaba-haba ito ha. although i haven't confirmed that she's a bogus seller or scammer, but i had few red flags from her and this might help other also here. for me, totoo talaga yung gut feeling.
anyway, this happened sometime last month. i was planning to buy Blackberry 8520 when I checked ayosdito. that was before I applied to Globe for a plan and bb.
so eto na sa ayosdito. meron bb 8520 6.5k lang. 4 months lang daw. she's from lipa batangas. option niya is through courier or pick up. definitely, pickup is not an option for me.
thursday morning, i texted her if available pa yung unit, oo daw. tapos sabi ko if pwede meetup kami kahit sa MOA para gitna kami, hindi daw siya pwede. pero d daw talaga siya scammer, etc.. tapos nagbigay siya ng complete address. tapos for some reason, iba ang kutob ko, alam mo yung gut feel? tapos nag google ako sa address na binigay niya. ayun may nagmatch, isang guy na same sa last name niya at address pero banned sa Sulit kasi scammer ng mga phones. i read through the feedback comments and parang yung naninira sa kanya is nagbebenta rin ng phone. so i told myself, baka naman napagkamalan lang. then i texted her, tumawad ako, abah 5.5k na lang daw with free shipping! tapos i told her how is she related to this guy, tapos sabi niya bro daw niya yun. but she assured me that that phone was personally used. so she did not even defend her brother as a scammer. sabi ko login siya sa fb tapos approve niya ako para magchat kami.d daw siya pwede makapagnet kasi sa internet cafe lang daw siya nagnenet pero nakapending na ako sa kanya. so sabi ko kukunin ko na yung unit. pero for some reason, d ako makatulog. i opened the laptop again and inopen ko yung add niya na nakabookmark sa browser ko, abah, wala na! and she also has other 2 phones na binibenta, nawala na rin. so itexted her, sabi ko "asan na ad mo? gusto kasi makita ng husband ko yung unit mo" sabi niya, dinelete na daw niya para daw wala na magtext sa kanya about the phone. pero at the back of my mind, so nakapagnet siya pero d niya ako inapprove sa facebook. so sabi ko, "pwede ba 3k na lang muna hulog ko tapos the remaining balance, pagdating na ng phone?", pumayag siya! tapos may isang sign talaga na nagpagising sa akin. sa link ng Sulit, meron dun, how not to be scammed, inopen ko yun. ang number 1 advise dun, never agree on a 50% downpayment because walang seller ang pumapayag niyan. totoo naman, ako nga eh seller, d ako pumapayag kahit na 500 lang ang balance noh. tapos ayun na, d na ako makatulog. take note, she never asked for my name and other info. i voluntarily gave her my info and my online site for reference.
when i checked fb ng madaling araw, nakita ko inapprove na niya ako. so morning, chat na raw kami. i told her, may inapprove ka ba kagabi because maybe that's me. sabi niya meron daw. tapos ask niya ano daw name ko. dito ako nagalit. kasi sa dinami dami ng exchange namin ng text nung gabi, d niya maalala name ko. eh as a seller, unang una mong tatanungin yan sa buyer mo and save her name in your contacts. or if not, at least, save the text na may info ng buyer mo. eto naging sagutan namin:
me: you don't remember my name? i texted it to you yesterday
seller: sorry po maam kasi madami po nagtext sa akin yesterday about the phone
me: akala ko ba wala ng nagtetext sayo kasi dinelete mo na yung ad mo.
seller: ano po yung name mo hanapin ko sa fb friends ko
me: what? d mo alam kung sinu-sino ang mga inapprove mo sa fb? and i already gave you my name. when you approved my invite, it could ring a bell na ako yung ka transaction mo.
seller: eh maam, madami kasi ako inapprove
take note, 47 lang friends niya.
me: how hard it is for you not to remember me at all?
seller: eh d hwag niyo na po kunin yung cp ko!
bigla siyang nagalit! so ayun na. i texted her, ako pa nagapologize sa hassle na ginawa ko. eh kaysa naman bothered ako the whole time. kasi she might not be a scammer pero naman d naman tama yung pagtrato niya sa akin. pero ha, feeling ko lang talaga, she might be a bogus seller. kasi first time kong nakaramdam ng ganun eh, na may kaba when purchasing online. lagi naman ako bumibili online, kahit tig 10k pa yan pero kampante ako. sa kanya, iba talaga eh. so ayun, ang daming red flags d ba? at least nag ingat ako.
