If its difficult to do a warm sitz bath, you can place a hot water bottle to your butt area.  I am not sure if I saw this in Oprah and the Doctors.  The goal is the heat would make the blood vessels heal faster.

hi po! i couldn't find the thread for constipation and this is the closest (or the preceding) that I found. as Doc She advised previously, constipation is the primary reason for hemorrhoid so as early as now I prevent experiencing it. I used to take Nesvita pro-digestion and since then, I never had poop problems for the past few years. Then I stopped drinking it for several lame reasons - I now prefer coffee over milk, I always forget buying one from the grocery etc. Until last week I started having poop problems again probably as a result of bingeing over the holiday season. Lo and behold, nesvita pro-digestion is no longer in the market. huhuhu.. any other recommendations in lieu of this? It's a good source pf fiber and calcium that's why I wanted it and I don't want to depend on dulcolax and any other tablets as much as I could.

Tia!

Sis as much as possible, I would advise that you don't depend on Nesvita and other commercial products that has high fiber content. More veggies and fruits are still the best way to keep yourself from being constipated. Lalo na yung papaya, kangkong and carrots. ALso, you can try wheatgrass. Nakaka tulong pa mag detoxify.

^ thanks! i realized that as well. actually i eat lots of (green) veggies as much as i could pero mahilig din ako sa apple so i guess i need to add papaya to my diet.

re wheatgrass, i'll read more on this. thanks!

Hi doc she,

I'm 36wks pregnant and might be due to give birth anytime next week (according to my OB). Nag start yung hemorrhoid ko last Sat. My OB prescribed Daflon nung Monday and paracetamol for pain relief.. Kaya lang this morning may blood na sa panty ko, light pink lang naman sya. Ask ko [textspeak!] sana if ok sa pregnant [textspeak!] Faktu ointment for instant and fast relief? We want this cured before I give birth otherwise I'm thinking mas mahihirapan akong manganak.. Thanks in advance!

Silverglitzz- Hi! Depending on the grade of your hemorrhoids usually for Grade 3 and 4 , surgery is your only option. But your company policy may also play a significant role, sometimes they wants grade 2 hemorrhoids out for the fact that they don't want your hemorrhoids to progress and have them cover you for surgery once it's indicated.

ahrdenj- its mught be thrombosed and better to been and examined by a surgeon. Try also doing hot sitz bath by immersing your buttocks to warm water 15 mins 2-3x a day. Keep us posted.

Hi guys & Hi DocShe,
I am new here I accidently found this site while browsing about external hemorrhoids. DocShe I have an external hemorrhoid but is not hurting nor bleeding, it is just itchy sometimes. I had a check up already at Lourdes Hospital and the Doc said mine doesnt need a surgery, she just gave me prescription of faktu ointment. I am doing sitz bath with Epsom Salt 2 to 3X a day, i am eating high in fiber foods as much as possible but its been almost a month and i see no difference :( I am worried coz il be having my medical for my US Visa on june or first week of july, Baka kasi this would be a cause for my medical failure. If its okie po, Pls send me PM your contact # and sched at Manila clinica in Megamall po, I really wanted to get rid of this for peace of mind :) TIA

Hi DocShe,

I think I have had hemorrhoid for 7 months already.  late last year, i had this checked by a general doctor and she said that it's not hemorrhoid, maybe just anal fissure.  i had a rectal examination done by her.  i felt that it's just external hemorrhoid kasi i don't feel any pain inside except when i pupu and i get a prickly feeling on my anus and there's blood on the tissue paper.  but there's nothing found outside, so i'm confused whether it's external or internal hemorrhoid.  pero on and off siya.  minsan for 3 weeks, walang blood. then babalik.  minsan naman pinkish lang ang tissue paper.  once lang ako naka-experience ng sobrang itchy feeling sa anus ko.  that was last year and it went on for 2 days only.  lately din kasi, lagi ako nagconstipation.  kahit kumakain na ako ng mga rich in fiber foods - nesvita, fruits and vegetables, prunes, may constipation pa rin.   lately, i think it has worsened.  more than spotting na kasi ang blood sa tissue paper and my constipation has worsened.   i used to do sitz bath.  but i find taking a very hot shower and exposing my buttocks to be more convenient so that's what i've been doing.

i' think it's time to have this checked by a specialist.  gastroenterologist ba ang tawag sa specialist nito? i'm currently trying to conceive and undergoing a work up with my re.  will the medications affect my work up?

hi sis, pa consult ka sa gastroentorologist para ma ease na yung worry mo... ganan din kasi ako dati, i thought its just hemorrhoid only to find out na its chron's disease...hindi kasi lahat ng blood sa stool due to hemorrhoid so its best na magpa consult ka sa specialist...

sis wag ka matakot sa colonoscopy kasi patutulugin ka naman bago gawin yon, nung una natatakot din ako, pero sa totoo lang wala ako na feel nung pagkagising ko, parang puro hangin lang yung tyan ko, in fact uulitin ulit yung colonoscopy ko sa november and this time di na ko natatakot. The earlier na makapag pa check up ka the better...I wish you well

sardonyx- I agree with them, have it checked by a gastroenterologist and if colonoscopy is advised then request for an anesthesiologist.
