Pasali mga sis... lahat kami sa family may AR, my dad is the worst of all... dependent na sya sa steriod spray, high doses na ng vit c, he did na jogging and aero every morning na less pero tuloy parin. May flu vaccine... lahat na ata ng anti histamine na take na nun.. out of desperation, since ako ang taga bili ng gamot... I did a research... you know what I found out? Oral glutathione dilluted sa sterile or distilled water, tapos ilalagay sa nebulizer..

Aha, it workes like magic sabi ng dad ko... he tried it at first and d sya ng take ng kahit anong gamot only vit c nya... morning wala until evening... now he's doing it everynight. No more spray etc... puro vit c lang. And pati ibang pains mya like joint pains, backnpain, hyperaxidity nawala...

Research nyo about Nebulized Glutathione. Hope it g
Helps...

Lately, I'm withdrawing from montelukast, Cetirizine, loratidine, and so far not much asthma or allergies, I don't want to be dependent on medicine and endure side effects. Also it will come to a point that such medicine with no longer with the regular dose, so you have to double dose.

I just boost my immune system with vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and other supplements. Such alternatives Kasi are never prescribed by doctors for our disorders.

@myluckycharm

what brand of oral gluta do you buy? how do you use it with the nebulizer?

@oshiawase

your best bet is to boost your immune system than suppressing allergic symptoms.
allergy medz only give temporary relief and can be addictive.

for me, if its not effective, i take medz for 2 weeks, loratidine or cetirizine.
if its still not working, dagdag na ng konting steroids like claricort (loratidine)
or co-aleva (ebastine with bethametasone) for 1 week.
if it still doesn't work baka infection na yan and needs antibiotic.
remove your triggers also-smoke, dustmites, pollution, insects, etc.

^seretide is steroid, so it will make you fat, and steroid is bad for health long-term.

^flixotide is nasal spray still bad for long-term use. so still its better to find other alternatives.

it's been 2 months that I am on my new job, commuting in makati, with all the pollution and traffic, so far no allergy attacks, except for migraine kanina (maybe due to pms and changing weather).

Gradeschool pa lang ako I already have an ENT doctor, pero it's the usual medications lang din naman. I have memorized the category of medicines for allergies and asthma, what I like, and the side effects I don't like, so I don't see why I should still waste consultation fees on doctors prescribing the same medicines since more than 20 years ago.
Unless meron PHYSICAL problem ang nasal cavity ko, like having Nasal Polyps, Nasal bleeding, deformed/defective/dislocated nasal cartilages that needs an operation.

Loratidine - Allerta, Claritine, Lorano (Generic), Claricort (with steroid)
DES-Loratidine - Aerius (super mahal)
Cetirizine - Zyrtec, Virlix, Zirlix (Generic)
LEVO-cetirizine - Xyzal
Ebastine - Co-aleva (with steroid Bethamethasone)

Montelukast - Monetcad (chewable)
Theophylline - Neulin
Salbutamol - Ventolin (I don't like the Trembling side effect)

Natural Treatment of Perennial Allergic Rhinitis
http://www.thorne.com/altmedrev/.fulltext/5/5/448.pdf
Natural Anti-histamines = Vitamin C, Bromelain, Quercetin
http://www.vrp.com/inflammation/inflammation/quercetin-bromelain-and-c-allergy-support-and-more

This year I started taking Quercetin + Vitamin C, Acidophilus (Probiotics) and so far so good. Complete pa rin yung 1 banig ng antihistamines ko, I haven't used it in months.

Allergy is related to our immune system, so what you really need is not ANTI-allergy, but PRO-immune system boosters. My allergologist gives me antibodies if he thinks it's too low/weak to fight off infections and also multi-vitamins to boost my immune system. ENT doctors don't make any such suggestions except ANTI-histamines.

I also heard of SINUPRET, it's herbal and just over-the-counter.
I hope more doctors consider other forms of natural medicines.
