We allow them to eat our ulam. Snacks? Generally, yes except for imported cookies, diet biscuits, cereals and milk. All else is OK..

What we do is we store these stuff on a separate pantry cabinet but not locked and when we do the orientation, we show them lang the cabinet where they will get our food for daily consumption. So parang it's inidrectly saying na dun lang sila kumuha ng anything to eat.

Regarding chocolates, we give them their share na para hindi na kukuha sa fridge.

We don't really deprive them of most of our food kasi magiging matakaw sila or they will be curious kung ano yun.

So far, i think this style is effective. Nangyayari is even if binibigyan na namin, nahihiya pa kumuha.

I'm very lenient when it comes to eating. What we eat they eat too. If may extra snacks like chips, cakes, pastries etc. na sobra I ask them to bring it down & eat it na para Hindi masayang. Pero one time nag flare-up ako when I saw a former maid drinking out of of the juice bottle. I'm sorry but nadir I ako. Sana na lang she asked it from me Kesa I'll see her drinking in the same bottle that I drink from.one time, I saw her nauna pa syang kumuha sa pizza that I had delivered as in nauna pa syang kurma in sa amin.... But yung drinking straight from the bottle made my tummy turn talaga, right there & then I asked her to leave na. Feeling ko sobrang bastos na sya.

I don't stuff my ref with too much food kaya this won't be a problem on my part. If I do, ini explain ko sa lahat kung alin dito ang pwedeng kainin, kung alin ang naka reserve for this activity, etc. Nasa tamang communication din naman yun.

No. I give our new maid food allowance and I even bought her a fridge.

No we don't but they have their own budget for milk, coffee, bread, etc. Sa everyday food naman they eat what we eat kasi pinapasobrahan naman.

I dont set rules sa ganyan so far wala pa namang garapal akong kasambahay.

no. we give them food. kasi if not limas ang pagkain namin. matakaw kasi mga HH namin. as in they even steal food from our breakfast table like hotdog, loganisa, pati nuts and biscuits.

yes. what we eat, she eats. :) mahina naman sya kumain so that's not a problem. minsan pa nga ako pa naiinis kasi instead of eating yung ulam namin, nagtitiyaga sa kamatis or sa talbos ng kamote. :)

ang problema ko lang sa kanya is ang lakaaaas nya sa asukal. as in. Ang bilis maubo ng sugar namin because of her. :(

Generally, our helpers eat the same food that we eat. I also have a designated area on the fridge for them for canned goods, noodles, etc. in case i eat out.  My basic rule lang  sa fridge is "keep off my chocolate stash", hehe  :) I also have my own areas sa fridge and pantry, and I tell them to ask permission first in case they need anything from there. For snacks, they usually prefer bread or pandesal but I have a few containers filled with crackers and biscuits for them to snack on.  Thankfully hindi naman matakaw ang helpers namin and the snack stash usually lasts a while.

May supply kasi sila ng sa kanila lang pag magsusupermarket they have their own supply of noodles canned goods crackers. Pero pati ba an imported cookies drinks chocolates and crackers  ng kids ko tirahin ba daw. Im trying to catch who is doing it sa kanila.

Ako from the start sinasabi ko sa kanila na they can eat anything that on the table/ fridge as long as walang pangalan or hindi ko binilin na wag kainin.

Then when I asked her, ayun, si baby ko raw kumain. Kakaduda, kaya ba ng isang bata ubusin yung malaking toblerone?

Ito naman recently lang. Medyo naiintindihan ko kasi bata pa itong katulong namin. Yung isang bowl ng salad na nasa freezer, inubos nya in three days!!! Two (2) fruit cocktails yun, may nata de coco pa at kaong!

Nagiiwan pa ako ng P20 a day in case may gustong bilhin sa tindahan. Napapanis yung kanin at ulam.

Sorry, napahaba.

^ouch, ang chocos pa ang tinira :)  sa amin, off limits talaga ang choco stash ko, hehe. i give them local chocos naman along with their snacks stash. i put them in small jars malapit sa tv kasi they usually like to snack at night while folding laundry and watching their fave telenovelas :)

a little OT na to but i think the way the HHs behave will largely depend on the personality ng amo. If they see na uber mabait and malumanay ka, that's when they usually take advantage. I noticed this with my sister, super maawain kasi siya ang she really pampers her helpers.  Her yaya is super tamad, and seldom does anything, palagi pa naka online, text or tv so my nephew ends up playing by himself :(  Over pa sa kikay, nag papa rebond pa ang lola! At least yung other helper nya hardworking and may initiative mag cook and linis ng bahay.

^agree sis. Kaya dapat from the start strikto na.

That is one of the rules na di pwede ma break sa house namin. We have seperate pantry for the stuff that they eat. And for the new maids my wife briefs them that they are not allowed to touch the food inside the ref. The only stuff they can get from the ref is the ice and water. The food stuff is not allowed unless specified by us. I found out long time ago you have to be strict with this other wise your going to spend a bundle. Some of the condiments are also off limits especially stuff like lea and perrins and the heinz tomato ketchup.  ;D Never naman sila nagutom kasi 4 meals per day sila. And may CCTV sa house namin and they know it.

I guess that's true. recently, we got a new maid. I am not madamot sa food. mostly because I don't cook so ayoko na maraming niluluto na iba iba. so whatever we eat as ulam, yun din ang sa kanila. I buy bread for everyone in the house. pandesal and sliced bread lang naman yun. ang rule ko lang is don't touch my mom's stashbecause her stuff is sugar-free and don't touch the stuff meant for my kid. I give the maids biscuits, coffee, juice. pati toiletries. sila na bahala mag-budget sa sarili nila.

pero itong new maid is not only matakaw, she is also maarte. ayaw nya yung coco jam at peanut butter na binigay ko. aba ang kinain eh yung nutella ng anak ko. tinago ko na nga sa lalagyan ng food ng anak ko nung nakita ko na sobrang daming nabawas pero mukhang nung pinakain ng yaya ko yung anak ko, eh naiwan na naman sa lamesa kaya wala pang 1 week, ubos ang malaking jar. nakakainis kasi ang mahal pa naman ng nutella. it's 380 for that jar. at kahit tinago na, hindi pa rin nakaramdam na wag na pakialaman. on top of that, nakita ko na kumuha sya ng dove na soap sa cabinet ko para sa kanya. eh binibigyan ko sila ng soap (minsan safeguard, minsan Palmolive) pati yung mga soap na nakukuha ko sa hotel, sa kanila lahat yun. pero syempre yung gamit ko ang gusto nya. pinaalis ko na.
