it depends, kapag may budget edi go if wala ok lang naman.. magastos naman kasi talaga kapag nagchurch wedding, sayang ang money. in my opinion, ok lang naman if civil wedding, may mapaglalaanan pa nung naipong pera para sa future... yung ibang couples kasi na nakikita ko basta magchurch wedding lang ok na sila, hindi na nila naiisip yung future, san sila titira, what if may anak na sila...

yung iba din naman kasi kaya hindi matuloy tuloy ang church wedding, bongga ang inilalaang budget. yes, it's once in a lifetime pero it is also a one day event. a couple need not spend more than 10k to hold a church wedding.

most of us kasi, specially in this generation, pag sinabing church wedding, ang synonym agad e, BONGGA, MAGASTOS, GOWN, RECEPTION, HONEYMOON.

tanggalain mo lahat yan, and just think of it's real purpose (to receive God's Blessing), you wont even spend more than 1k.

^ang take ko lang to each their own. Hindi lang naman pera ang pwedeng issue. Just because it worked for you means universal truth na siya. People have different perceptions of weddings and how they'd want it done. Some couples kasi if they have something beautiful to look back on, it can make the marriage stronger din naman.  :)

^i totally agree. that's your pov. and i have my own as well.  :)

each has their own set of priorities. others would want to spend more than a thousand for their wedding, others naman wont. tama ka, kanya kanya lang yan.

what i'm sharing lang is: possible pala na a couple can have their church wedding without having to spend much. point ko is: PWEDE NAMAN PALA.

we've been married (civil) for ten years and during those years hindi sumagi sa isip ko na mag pachurch wedding, as in , it never entered my mind, precisely because i have two kids na nag aaral na, we rent our own apartment, at hindi naman ganun kalaki ang sweldo namin ni mister. my take at that time, what for? and, walang budget e. at kung nagkaron man, kulang or sayang lang.

until i heard Bro Jun Banaag's messages about marriage. and then i heard famous speaker anthony pangilinan's comments, and then i got to talk to a priest, and a friend na muntikan ng mag-priest.

it changed MY perception, MY priorities. ;)

ako din gusto ko. prob namin is the religion. family nya kasi dating daan except siya na hindi pa nagpa doktrina. Although before catholic sila tapos naging protestant tapos ngayon dating daan. nung civil wed nga namin puro dating daan ninong and ninang namin.

hindi maayos yung church  wedding  kasi nga limited ang time.. pero blessing in disguise kasi we were able to spend the money on more important stuff..

the supposed budget for the church wedding was then spent on my pregnancy and baby's stuff.. i can say that we were able to provide the best of the best for our daughter  because we were not financially crippled hehe .. which would have been the case if we had pursued my dream wedding :P

also, we were able to  pay 50% of the house that we wanted, have money for our daughter's educational plan, and still have some saved up in the bank for emergency and some luxuries..

kaya buti na lang hindi talaga natuloy haha.. i was very immature at that time na willing akong gumastos ng bongga talaga... looing back nakakatawa na iniyakan ko pa yon hehe..

i still want to be married sa church though.. pero intimate and very simple na lang.. kasi now i realize the more important stuff ;)

my husband and i had a whirlwind romance. we dated for 5 months then had a civil wedding. we've only been married 1.5yrs now. we're both ok without the church wedding. problem is, my mom wants one. :(

Right now, may plan kami ni hubby na ikasal sa church in three or four years, para pwedeng maging flower girl or ring bearer ang magiging anak namin.

Pero a lot can change in three or four years.

kami ni hubby we got married in Canada through civil rights. Nag-save kami then after 5 years, we decided to have a church wedding :) Actually, its my parents who insist that we get married in church. At first, I felt it to be so impractical kasi gastos sa plane tickets and all pero after the wedding, naisip ko na wow! iba pala ang kinasal sa simbahan..ibang feeling :) very solemn, very memorable.

we had our civil wedding last jan2010..church wedding is included in our plan but that will come after 2-3 years pa. we need to save muna for that although maraming may gustong tumulong with the expenses but still hubby and i wanted to have it our way..hirap kasi if others will shoulder the expenses kasi you can't say NO or hirap na to say NO sa gusto nilang mangyari sa wedding..just my POV.

priority namin ngayon is to save for our own house and for our further studies.  :)

civilly wedded kami last 2006 pa. we intentionally postponed our church wedding kasi priority namin is to save, save and save. now that we're financially stable na (house and cars), we're ready for the church's blessing so that we can start a family na. talagang sinadya namin na wag mag baby muna habang wala pang blessing.  :)

We married thru Civil rites last September 15, 2005 but pina backtrack lang yung date to September 12, 2005 kasi I gave birth to our son on Sept. 14. 8)

Gusto ko ma bless yung pagsasama namin ni hubby and kid kaso we have plans pa of having our own house kasi nkikitira lang kami sa in laws. Sana on our 10th wedding anniversary, matuloy na talaga kahit simple lang basta ba solemn and mapi-feel mo talaga na bine-bless kayo.  ;D

joining..

hubby & i decided na gawin ang civil wedding namin on the 8th mo. ni baby this 25th, sa totoo lang dream ko din mkasal sa church (hopefully matupad) marami kasi kami gastusin ngayon & we wanted na magka house na kami b4 ulit sya makasamapa sa barko..

marami nagsasabi wala naman daw kung san kayo kinasal civil or church its a matter of how your relationship going on but syempre dapat center pa din ng relasyon niyo si God.
