my hubby and I were married via civil rites for 8 yrs before we had our church wedding.  plan talaga namin na magkaroon ng church wedding kasi gusto namin may basbas ng Diyos yun union namin.  buti na lang we pushed through with it kahit ilang beses na postpone kasi sabi ng parish priest dito (US) di daw kami considered mag-asawa hangga't di kami nakakasal sa simbahan.

hi!

my hubby and i are also planning to have a church wedding na simple lang. hindi na rin naman talaga practical for us na magpa-bongga pa since we already have a kid to spend the money on. i am more on after the blessings or basbas than anything else.. so i would like to have both sides of the families plus very close friends and relatives lang. we are 2 years civil married.

i pray for all of us here who wanted to have a church wedding.. :)

Prior to our civil wedding, hubby and I had talks of getting married at church. Nasayangan lang ako sa savings namin and naisip ko, what will we use to start with kung na-spend na namin sa wedding. So we decided to go for a civil wedding.

We still talk about getting married sa church but eversince I gave birth, the plan took a backseat. Now, I would rather spend my hard earned money with my daughter, save for her future. If ever we have a church wedding, small lang siguro. Probably have the same headcount lang as our civil wedding.

In God's time.:-)  sana talaga!

A WEDDING IS A DAY, A MARRIAGE IS FOREVER.

What does this mean?  It means that the pomp, the festivities and the expenses related to it are not such important things - it is the marriage AS A SACRAMENT that is important.

You should be married in church without need for pomp and festivities.  The most important reason is because you would do better in your married life if you brought the Lord into your love relationship and you live together as HUSBAND AND WIFE WITHIN THE SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE.

That said, how much will you really need to spend (because it seems that most if not all of those who posted cite that as the reason they have not been able to get married in church).
- Ask your church the basic fee for the simplest church wedding.
- You don't have to wear a white wedding gown, after all a white wedding gown is symbolic of a virgin getting married, and of course by now you no longer are, are you?  If you still would like to wear a gown, maybe plan on a renewal of vows on your 25th annivesary year of church wedding.
Then a final question:
- If you had lived together a number of years already as a civilly-married husband and wife, and now you want to have a church wedding, why expect your parents or your parents-in-law to spend for your church wedding?

^sis, you still need to undergo pre-cana and canonical interview. ang di mo lang kailangang iprocess ay marriage license. in lieu of this is a photocopy of your marriage contract lang (civil).

nakakainggit naman mga sissess ko at mag church wedding, kami we've been married since 1997, civil din, pero i talked to my hubby na sana sa 15 yr namin sa chuch naman, ayaw eh, first of all we have different beliefs, Catholic ako sya born again, kay di matuloy tuloy.
Dream ko kasing mag suot ng long white gown as isle.
kaya sa mga sissess ko na ikakasal, Bless you all.... at Congratulations...I pray that matuloy lahat ng balak nyo sa buhay at patnubayan nawa kayo ng MayKapal.... ;)

We want pa, kaso personally, sayang naman yung gastos. ;D
