^yes sis, better si Shepherd's Bush for me. Mas madami ako nabili dun :P Cov G din akala ko market lang siya, pero surprisingly may known brands dun. mixed pala. Regent Street, napagod lang ako sa paglakad from Picadilly, di ko na tinuloy sa Oxford Street.

We met a Pinoy guy during our trip to Bath, he recommended Canning Town for our last day. Kaso souvenir shops lang pala siya so we spent 1 hour max there lang.

Once lang kami inabot ng ulan sa London, buti na lang.

We took a cab from Paddington to Westfield and 45 pounds lang inabot (metered). from Westfield to St. Pancras 25 pounds (fixed) lang ata iirc.

Parang maliit ang central london for me, kung 5 days, mauubusasn ng tourist spots (we skipped parks and museums kasi, except the National Gallery), pero ang sarap mag chill out dito. It's very clean. And people are nice. Efficient din yun modes of transport nila. Sarap balikan! :)

^That's good na you enjoyed your trip. Sayang sana nakapag ikot kayo sa mga parks. Did you also go sa tower of London?Or Camden Market? Borough Market and Canary Wharf? Mga food districts yun ,not to mention ganda ng ambience. Super multicultural. Maliit yung central London, but depende per person. I've lived there for quite some time but I'm still nostalgic, and nanghihinayang ako I was not able to visit all the parks and gardens na I wanted. :) There's always a next time naman. Balik ka na lang uli sis :)

Glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday! Medyo imbyerna nga ang guide ha. Send feedback!

Malls here aren't like in the Philippines, I think; mas malalaking malls diyan, and matatawag mong mall talaga. I haven't been to one here in ages, kase I shop online and then go to the nearest store they have to pick it up! I love the returns policy here kase, pag hindi mo type and/or hindi maganda ang fit sayo you can return on the same day.

Homaygad lang sa £45 cab! I love the metered cabbies (London staple) but ang mahal talaga nila grabe.

You have relatives dito, diba? If you're going to be here a month from Friday 21st, see if there's anything online for the Black Friday sales! Tapos return mo na lang pag hindi mo type hehe.

^Delayed na ang deliveries when December comes. But if you order early and get it delivered, tapos you're here within a month after you've purchased the items, pwede mo naman i-return!

^ London weather is always changing. It's also known for its gloomy weather. Expect rain in November. Bring a foldable umbrella. The temperature would have dropped by that time. It would be proper autumn weather. Temp would range from 5-15 degrees celsius. Good luck :)

Joining :) I'm going to the UK for a business trip next week. Will be staying in Maidenhead though since it's closer to where our office is so my plan is...

Upon landing at Heathrow at 6:20 am on Sunday, will leave my luggage at storage (already booked) and then go around London for the day. Planning to see the Tower of London, the Borough, walk around London bridge and see Westminster Abbey and then Buckingham Palace as my last stop before heading back to the airport where my hotel transfer will get me. Any other suggestions or places I can squeeze in from 9am to 5pm?

What's your recommended footwear btw since it may rain given the weather is so unpredictable?

Thanks! :)

Given that its February and its winter season, wear boots. Not high heeled boots (madulas kasi sya) but those that are rubber and have got good grip and are either leather or plastic. Not the nice Ugg boots na pag umulan basa na din ang paa mo hehe. Check accuweather, a few weeks ago it snowed in London ( Feb -.April 2012 was the last time it snowed in London), 4 seasons in one day weather talaga sya.  There might not be snow, but it will probably about 90% chance na uulan sya.  By the way, download TFL.and the London Underground App. It will make it easier for you to commute. Also update your google maps app, back up kung hindi mo mahanap kung saan yung mga rail and underground stations. 4 PM pa lang madilim na sa London. By bus, Maidenhead to London might take a few hours. By train, about 1-2 hours siguro give or take no delays. Tfl app is only good for London. Google maps is better for countryside, which Maidenhead is.

If you only have 9-5 pm, okay na yung itinerary mo. Greenwich park is also nice ( venue of the movie Thor hehe) but it's better in spring and summer, plus mauulan baka maputik.  Magkakalapit lang ang London bridge, tower bridge and St. Paul's Cathedral. If you want to go to westminister abbey or to the London Eye, you can take the ferry or city cruise. If you're lucky and the weather is good, yung steward ng city cruise will be your tourist guide and point out all the important landmarks and give out trivia. (Of course you can also take the underground train).  From London Eye you can  check out the waterloo station ( where you'll probably catch your train back to Maidenhead).

From Waterloo station, you can walk to London Eye, cross the Westminster bridge, see the Parliament upclose and check out Big Ben. And from there you can walk to Westminster Abbey and konting kembot na lang you can walk to St. James Park, see the Buckingham Palace, walk some more till you see Victoria Station and you can also walk to Westminster Cathedral ( Catholic Church).

Now, if you want to see more people, and maybe check out more sites and not go into St. James Park, from Westminster Abbey, you can walk along the side of Thames river opposite London Eye, until you get to Charing Cross Station, from there you can walk to Trafalgar Square, see the National Portrait Gallery, the National Gallery, Leicester Square ( if you're going back to Heathrow then this would be your station ), Chinatown and Covent Garden.

If you want cheap eats, there is Wasabi which is a Japanese bento stall/ resto. You can try Nando's Peri-Peri Chicken not sure kung wala pa nyan sa Pinas, since.meron na dyang Costa's eh). For typical English food, try any pub hehe.. but Punch and Judy makes good sausage and mash :) Anyways, mahaba na pala ito. Good luck. Bu the way, there is this escalator etiquette, otherwise you might get told off, remember you stand on the right and walk on the left. Good luck. Have a great work holiday :)

^ Wow Missus O, THANK YOU! This is super helpful :) I'm a bit worried about my footwear nga because my boots are for office (heeled) and my other boots are either suede or cloth. First time to visit a cold country with unpredictable weather!

^ hahaha... no worries. I've lived there for 6 years. I left because I got married hehe. I knew the place a bit well, except for the shopping district since I only shop at the cheap stores hehe. I used to do yoga in front of the London Eye. hehe, I guess you can say that London Eye, Trafalgar Square used to be my playground in that sense hehe.

If your work shoes are leather then its alright. How heeled is heeled? If you are used to wearing them and can walk on cobblestoned streets (Covent Garden) then I guess its okay. Kung nasusurvive nya ang ulan sa Pimas then it will survive rain in Lomdon hehe. But if you want to make gala you might need to go buy some nice boots. You can always buy there. Marks and Spencers are good, but a bit expensive. Good stores would be Barrats, Clarks, Zara. But boots are a bit expensive but there may be some sale. It would be priced from £35-100 and up. Bring umbrella, even if the weather is nice. It will change in 5 minutes. Have fun. Madaming Pinoy sa London. Kung saan may hospital, madaming Pinoy. Parang nasa Pilipinas ka din  except walang Jollibee hehe. Ang McDo kanto kanto.  PM me if you still need to learn anything hehe.

We are going to London, Scotland and Ireland on June. I believe, we need to secure a separate visa for Ireland. Ano kaya uunahin kong mag-apply ng visa, UK or Ireland? Need ba apperances ng all travellers sa Ireland? It should be direct sa embassy right? Wala sya sa VFS Global? THanks!

^ Hi sis, separate ang Ireland if you are going to the Republic/South. But if Northern Ireland its part of the UK so no need for a separate visa. When my mom and my nephews applied for an Irish visa in 2012, diretso sila sa embassy walang VFS dati, si mama lang ata ang nagpersonal appearance. My nephews were 4 and 11 then.  The Irish embassy is very helpful naman. :)

I guess unahin mo na lang ang first destination mo, kung iba sa main destination. Although I don't think it matters that much. May minimum months ba before makapag-apply ng UK visa, ie 3 months before travel? Maybe check with Irish embassy din baka wala silang minimum at pwede ka na mag-apply now. Sayang ang oras.

I've read somewhere kasi na matagal daw mag release ng visa ang Irish embassy, is this true? Sa UK kasi 2 weeks, if express few days lang.
