^^ yeah since hubby is British so we spend a lot of time here in London and around the country. We even have a storage locker na in London. Agree with the transportation though unfortunate incident yesterday, we went to visit some family in Helford East and property scouting in Chesunt and the train in that line to London broke! had to take a couple of bus rides to get back to the city.

there are a lot of pinoys here and i'm sure with patience, you can find a job or you can do a student visit visa first and see what are your options.

we're renting an apartment this trip and it's super nice! we're right smack in the center, just across Euston station lang

We were able to get Stonehenge-Salisbury-Bath tour tickets for only GBP29.00 via Expat Explore!  They have limited dates lang, but we're lucky one of their dates coincided with our trip to the UK.  Yay!

I haven't been giving london some love for a long time. Time to research new trendy and cool places to see before I go back.

But one goal (tip for those going to london soon) is to have a drink of pisco sour at the sushisamba in the shard with spectacular views of london!

That's a good deal! We went to bath already and it was lovely super worth it and it's pleasant to walk around. We didnt even take public transport. Make sure to go and do the abbey tour, it's worth it!

Hello to all!

I might travel to London from 2-8 June for work.  It's gonna be my first time in London and given the schedule that I have, I'll be at work from Mon to Fri, the only time for me to tour the city will be after office hours with no full day available.  Sigh.

Can anyone suggest good places I can go to?  Are museums open until late evening?  I really want to see famous landmarks there but I dont know if I may be able to given my schedule.  Our office is at 2 kingdom st.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

^ it will be summertime and if you are lucky, it would be sunny and sunset would be around 8/9pm pa. though if after work hours, the museums will be closed na (most are open until 5-6pm) but you can still go to places like trafalgar sqaure, south bank, catch a thames clipper, walk around oxford street, ride the london eye, etc. better to check the closing of the websites of the attractions kasi minsa mas late sila nag cloclose

Super strict ba sa UK in terms of name sa passport? I’m getting married on Feb, and we plan to visit UK around June for honeymoon. My passport will still bear my maiden name. Hindi ba kami mahahassle if I say we’re going there for our honeymoon and yet yung passport name ko is still my maiden name?

^ it should be fine i am married too and i still travel to uk and europe in my ild passport bearing my maiden name. My family visit visa is declared as married but maiden name pa din. Just have a copy of your marriage documents if possible if they have any questions

By the way, we're staying in a neighborhood very near King's Cross Station. Fiance's aunt lives there. I read it's not the best neighborhood haha, like mejo seedy area? But I guess if my fiance's aunt can handle it, we can din naman. And I hope being near the station makes commuting around London a whole lot easier.

King's criss is ok naman, very center and you have access to most lines kaya you dont have to change tube stations. We usually stay near king's cross, around bloomsburry, angel and euston areas and ok naman. You just have to be mindful of your things as usual but london is a great place

I'm finalizing our daily itinerary for London (in three weeks).  I have a few questions:

1 - Has anyone been to Kew Gardens?  Worth it ba to go there?  It's included in the London Pass kasi
2 - Has anyone been to Borough Market on a Saturday?  How much time should we allot for browsing the market?
3 - Same question for Portobello market, how much time should we allot for browsing?
4 - Are there a lot of restaurants in the theater district?  We plan to eat dinner before watching Les Miserables on a Saturday night, I'm looking for good places to eat
5 - Is half a day too much for Hyde Park, or marami kami magagawa don?

1. we've been meaning to go as our london friends love it there kaya lang it's a bit out of the way. if you like parks and to chill, this would be good.

2/3. markets come alive on weekends and there will be a lot of people. we usually spend half a day or so to browse the stalls as well as go around the neighborhood. have you considered camden and primrose hill area?

4. there is a lot! it depends on what you want to eat and they usually have theater menus. leicester square is also nearby so you can have chinese.

5. we can spend a whole day in hyde park! pero depende on what you like kasi we'd rent those barclay bikes and bike around. the rose garden is our favorite and after, we just walk through the marble arch to buckingham palace or picadilly.

2 - We went to Borough market on a Saturday and it was very crowded.  We got there before noon and by lunch time, you have to line up everywhere.  It's a food market and we probably spent 3 hours food tripping.  If you plan to go, try to be there earlier and it would be a nice place for brunch.

4 - As little_princess mentioned, there are a lot of restaurants in the theater district.  It is in Chinatown so very cheap (London-standard for cheap  ) ang chinese food. There are also many other restaurants but since this area is crowded with tourists, madami ring tourist traps.

Will adjust our Saturday itinerary and go straight to Borough market for breakfast/brunch.  We'll get out of there by around 10:00 am.  Then we walk to the Globe Theatre, pass by Tate Modern, and cross the Millennium bridge to St. Paul's Cathedral.  Is this doable?

^ i think kaya naman but be mindful of the time especially sa market kasi baka tumagal kayo and sa tate modern, try to see bits and pieces so you wont get iverwhelmed and if you plan to go up the dome sa st paul's allot more time
