my mom wanted me to take Education back in college.. kaya lang i didn't listen kasi maliit ang sweldo ng mga teachers tapos feeling ko talaga i don't have the patience to deal with students.. i took up business course instead.. but now mukhang pagiging teacher din babagsakan ko.. or rather instructor.. i hate my current job.. i am actually eyeing for govt jobs but ang hirap makapasok since i am from the province.. unlike sa manila, hindi ganun kadalas hiring sa gov't offices here.. plus the palakasan system.. i am planning to take MBA para may edge.. sana this oct kaya lang medyo prob ko pa ang tuition.. but my plan is if ever i won't have the gov't job this year, i'll apply as university instructor na lang next school year.. MBA still.. and i really wanna study pa sana kung may pera ako.. pero now tiis-tiis muna sa job..

I'm a RN, working as an English Instructor to Koreans for almost two years now. Nagwork din ako sa nursing review center and nag-man-to-man din ako before. I took the entrance exam to PNU for CTP and passed, kaso talagang clash sa sched ko kaya di natuloy-tuloy.

Hopefully I'll get to take CTP someday para maging licensed teacher din.

sis un CTP pwede ba itake online? Gusto ko rin magteacher haha. Accounting graduate naman ako. Ilan years para matapos un CTP?

Kung kayo papapiliin sis kukuha kayo ng CTP or Masteral Degree nalang sa Teaching English as a Second Language? Gusto ko kasi maging English Teacher.

Sis, for me CTP na lang, para talagang licensed ka. Kasi pag TESOL, di kapa makapagtake ng LET nun eh.

After mo magCTP, kuha ka nalang ng certificate in English.

hi! glad to have found this thread! im an RN but working as a call center agent. drained and disinterested na talaga ako sa job ko. gusto ko sana mag teach. i was really wondering whether to take up master's or CPE. btw, same lang yung CPE and CPT diba? thinking about it, mas ok siguro if CPE/CPT muna kukunin ko at least i will be licensed. then take up master's later after i get my certification. most teaching jobs i search online requires a LET passer talaga eh. also did any of you applied for teaching jobs abroad? especially as an English instructor?

BSED educ units kinuha ko kaso wala pa akong major. Pwede na bang magteach kahit wala pa? thanks

update ko lang... exactly after two years ako nagpost dito. after every year ko kasi kinuha units ko. but no regrets kasi just last September 30, 2012... I took the Boards and I passed

Problem ko naman ngayon eh wala akong practice teaching. hindi ko na kinuha yung OJT just the 18 units needed for the boards kasi nagttrabaho din ako while doing everything for me to be a teacher.

Problem is I do not have any idea how to do demo-teaching, paggawa ng actual lesson plan, etc.

Parang nakakahiya tuloy, board passer ako pero hindi ko alam outputs.

Nagteach ako pero playschool-preschool lang.

Ang gusto ko kasi turuan gradeschool or short-courses sa TESDA, etc.

Right now I'm really considering a career shift from the corporate setting to the academe. I'm not an educ grad, so I would need to take educ units. Mas okay ba na educ units lang ang kunin o master's na agad in education? Pwede kaya yun? Master's agad pero syempre kukuha muna ng pre-req na educ units?

Pero siguro while taking my educ units/master's, tiis-tiis muna sa current job para may sapat na pang-tuition din. Haha!

Ako din sis. Yan nga din ang plano ko for now. Nag-apply na ako sa PTC (Professional Teaching Certificate Program) ng UP Open U for the pre-requisite na educ units. 18 units din siya tapos trisem yung offer ng UP OU so 1 year din. Ng makapag-LET na rin ako. Career shift talaga.

1,000 sya per semester. Required ka lang to take 6 units pag working ka. plus other miscellaneous fees na 2,000+ ata. Mga less than 9k din siya. Yun ang estimate ko.

Kaya siya naging 1 year to take the 18 units kase trisem sya at 6 units per semester.

so bale lalabas na 18k sa whole trisem? tama ba ako sis? Paano pala ang class nito? Every saturday lang ba sis?

parang ganun nga nga. 18k buong year (trisem) more or less.

yung class pala nya ay online lang. so hindi physical classroom. matinding disiplina talaga kelangan for this.
