Sis ako din, ayoko talaga na naririnig yun kasi that's not the case naman haaay.

^ actually the beaches where he lives is way way better but then what he wants is for us to spend quality time together na hindi crowded, so we opted for Thunderbird Poro Point, bahala na, next na uwi nalang nya yung Bora pag summer, thanks sa reply sis....

Give and take lang.  :D

we don't talk about money and expenses when he gets here for vacation but i'm prepared, ayokong sagutin nya lahat, of if he insists, i have to at least give some back.

i have always wanted my guy to be filipino kasi feeling ko mas ka-wavelength ko, mas marami kaming things in common because of the culture that we share, etc. but when i met him, parang filipino lang din minus the tagalog. mahirap lang yung LDR, months pa kayo bago magkita. minsan gusto mo ng ka-hug, unan na lang. lol

^exactly, unan nalang for now pero in time you'll look forward to seeing each other again. ako naman filipino american pero di rin marunong magtagalog, anyway ok lang, tiis nalang talaga, when one is weak, the other one must be strong and in our case ako minsan nanghihina pero he makes it to a point na kahit di kami magkasama, soon magkakasama nadin kami fo good.

gustong-gusto ko yung feeling na may nabibili ako sa kanya like tshirt or treat ko sa movie or kain kami sa resto then sagot ko.. natutuwa naman siya!;)

di natin control isip ng ibang tao, yung iba kong friends medyo naiinis ako hehe kasi akala nila porket my fiance akong foreigner akala nila naka-jackpot ako sa lotto kaya sigeng palibre.. pero never ko pa silang nililibre pag my money lang ako bestfriends ko lang hehe.. hirap ng bhay ngayon ah,. and hindi rin naman pinupulot lang ng mga foreigners ang pera nila sa backyard.

I agree hindi natin contolled ang isip ng tao, some would think na pineperahan lang ang foreigners especially pag nakikita ng ibang tao na un foreign bf/gf nagbabayad ng bill... Hindi naman ganon yun... Kapag mag bf/gf understood yun kapag sila ang gumagastos same with pinoy bf/gf, kayalang un taste ng foreigner pagdating sa galaan, food, damit etc etc is different from filipinos kaya syempre yung mga mahal na merchandise or galaan dito para sa kanila mura lang yun..ako nung bf ko pa si hubby, we always go out and i make sure i have money with me, we lived in the hotel for  a month (everytime na nandito sya sa pinas which is every other month). There are times that people would look at me like someone na napulot lang sa tabi tabi kase naman ang mga pinoy kung makatingin mula ulo hanggang paa, but i always keep my head high, hindi naman bastusin damit ko at nakikita nila kami everytime we go out at ihahatid ako ng hubby ko sa office so okay lang i dont care kung ano isipin nila as long as wala naman ako ginagawang masama...pag naisipan naman ng hubby ko magbigay ng money, i always tell him na ayokong gagawin nya in public kase it doesnt look nice (just like our friend, sa harap ng madaming tao nya binibigyan un pinay gf nya so natural hindi maganda iisipin ng tao). My hubby also refrain from holding any part of my body other than hands and waist in the public, sinasabi ko sa kanya how filipinos think about touching butt etc etc na nakakabastos ito sa tingin ng mga pinoy. I do orient him para alam nya, so far so good..mahirap din kase na manahimik tayo abt cultural differences or whatsoever, he also knew about " pineperahan" thingie and they are all aware of that sabi nya.

^medyo OT pero my problem now is it will be his first time here in the Philippines and i wanted to take him to places na sikat talaga satin, he wanted Boracay actually but then tag ulan na kaya i don't think it will be an option. Thunderbird poro point is a sure itinerary along with Baguio and Tagaytay. do you have any suggestions? ask ko lang where did you take your foreigner bf/fiance when they got here for the first time? any help will be appreciated, thank you... :)

It depends yan sis kung anong lugar ang type nya, noong first time ng hubby ko sa pinas, i took him to Baguio muna, just to show him around and also para makapag adjust sya sa weather, he was amazed when he saw na may mountains pala sa pinas at may part na maganda ang weather, we stayed sa camp john hay. Sabi pa nga nya magnificent daw un area. Then we went to palawan, nice ang area although medyo kailangan iimprove ang airport, maganda sa palawan, may beaches din naman and areas na pwede puntahan, marami din activities na pwedeng gawin. Ayoko kasi magpunta sa visayas area, gusto ko that time luzon area lang muna. Hindi ko naisip ang boracay kase too commercialized :) i just want an area were we can talk and enjoy our time together. You can bring him sa northern area like baguio as you mentioned, sagada, vigan, ilocos....

^thanks sis, sure na Thunderbird namin sa La Union,i'm from Ilocos pero with our time constraints malabo muna, baka Baguio and La Union. he likes beaches, pero tag ulan kasi uwi nya so it can wait til summer siguro next time na umuwi sya. but i want his first stay here in the Ph special, he's Filipino-American and that part of himself is what i want us to see together.

4 months na lang me and my fiance are getting married na :) how time flies!

about the money issue, hindi naman maiiwasan for people to think that but i guess it depends din on how we act or how we present ourselves. masakit pero i think that is how people judge us. even if we are engaged, we still sometimes goes dutch or i treat him and taas kilay din yung mga ibang tao. we can never really please anyone as long as our relationships are real :)

Married to a Foreigner
« Reply #114 on: July 31, 2012, 02:39:31 pm »
Hello sisses! I am actually new here. I searched for topics about being married to foreigners, but I didn't find any so I decided to start one.

What is it like being married to a foreigner? All of my ex boyfriends are pinoys, and I am thinking about being serious with this foreigner I am seeing regularly. Marrying age na ako, so I think, di malayong magkatuluyan kami. I don't have close friends who are married to foreigners kaya wala akong matanungan. What is life like? Adjusting and all? I hope I learn something from everyone here.

Thank you! =)

WAHHH!! Ngayon I am labeled as 'watched'! Is this okay? Anyway, I started a thread kasi under Married Life about being married to foreigners. I didn't know that this thread existed pala.

I guess, but it is just new for me. I know I am being really ignorant for asking this, but how do you react when people say or think that you are just with him because he is from abroad or something. Some stupid people think that pinays marry foreigners as an escape from poverty which is totally not the case kasi di naman ako mahirap. hahaha kidding.

Anyway, he is european. And he is like olllder than me mga 10 years my senior. Super weird because I was never attracted to anyone white and old! Pero why am I, for some reason, attracted to him?!? Napakastrange. Well, we are not seriously together pero I am starting to really seriously like him.

^ though me and my hubby lives abroad, di pa din maiwasan na yung ibang kabayan kung makahusga sa akin e parang kilalang kilala nila ko. How i react? no reaction at all, blank lang ako, bahala sila manghula, mamatay sila sa kakaisip, mga etchuserang dilis  ;D

If you two are really liking each other and my chemistry talaga, ok lang naman na yan.

^hahaha wedding agad, sis. He is actually Spanish. Where do you live now? And yes, of course. I have to know him really well first. My last relationship lasted 7 years with a Pinoy. Gusto ko siguro magexplore. He is older and way more mature. I enjoy discussing serious matters with him. He is extremely sweet too. Minsan parang nakakailang lang yung super romantic language. Di ako sanay. Hahaha
