Hello girls! Ako gusto ko rin ng emergency fund, but I don't know where to start. Hindi ko kasi ma-budget budget ang pera ko OR something always comes up kaya nagagalaw ko ang for savings dapat.

^thats why you have to treat your savings as an expense.

I agree with m-lim. Aside from treating savings as an expense. It takes discipline also.

if you want to start an emergency savings/fund. start now. it doesn't matter if you can't buy that P100 coffee. mas importante ang e-fund. hindi baleng dika makakuha ng car ngayon, mas importante ang e-fund. take thatreasoning. because if you don't start now, if you don't force yourself to start--aabutin ka ng taon bago ka pa makapagstart. madaming rason para hindi ka makapagstart.

so if you're really serious about saving for an emergency fund, do it now.

this is such an inspiring thread. lalo na simula ng taon.. =) ako, i plan to buy piggy banks. for EF, Stress fund, travel fund, shopping fund... lol basta iba-iba. para nababudget ko. pag malaki na, ioopen ko ng kanya-kanya bank account. para mas mahirap abutin. and as much as possible yung bank book at hindi atm para mas lalo mahirap abutin.

We have 2 savings accounts; 1 for our daughter and 1 for us. Our joint account serves as an emergency fund. I also have my own savings account for when I need to do emergency purchases hehe

The thing with saving is that you dont need to start out big. Start with what you can afford to save kahit pa 500 or 100 per payday lang yan. My golden rule is that I live within my means. I love to shop but I buy those that I can afford and I dont sacrifice anything on my budget especially the portions that would go to our savings.

why not do it automatic nalang sis? it's easier. and less tempting. hehe

I am so fund of pagiipon, in fact, part ng expense ko ang savings ko..
my 3 akong atm na hinuhulugan every pay day,other than my piggybank sa bahay..
adik kasi ako mag-ipon hehe

as much as i want to put it in a bank agad i dunno kase kung how much magopen ng bank accounts other than bdo and bpi na 2k and 3K ang maintaining respectively. eh kung madami ako paglalaanan, di ko carry ang ganun biglaan kalaki amount.

meron na ko nakita. =) BPI savings. no initial dep, 500 ADB, 500 maintaining bal, 1.375% interest pa. great deal considering that i'm just looking for a savings account were i can keep my money away from me and its earning pa. higher than the other banks i think.

may emergency fund thread pala. yung emergency fund namin di pa abot sa 6 months worth of our salaries. but at least it's a start.
