Help: digicam or dslr?

Getting a DSLR is a good choice. Ibang iba kasi talaga ang capture nya compared to P&S. But then yun nga, mabigat. Pero ako tyinatyaga ko sya dalin especially if I travel. I remember nung first time ko nagtravel, P&S ang dala ko, parang nakakapanghinayang kasi hindi kagandahan yung mga shots.

Has anybody tried using Sony TX5? Heard maganda din daw eh, parang SLR daw ang kuha.

i was in a similar dilema before.

i finally chose canons95.  its dSLR quality at P&S size.  i checked the reviews too and it came out almost perfect.

the DSLR is too heavy for me.  my photographer friends were also looking for a P&S alternative and were torn between lumix lx5 or canon s95.

^ Go na with na S95 mga sis! I'm sure you'll really love having it kasi very handy siya. hindi mabigat like the dslr. and almost the same siya with a dslr kasi may ring siya to customize the aperture, shutter speed, etc. clear pictures pa

look at this picture.  it's a side by side picture taken with a nikon d60 and a lumix lx3.  night shot, both on tripod.  sinadya ko kunan yang intercon hotel with both cameras para ma compare.  i even posted it on another forum na pang digital camera and asked them to guess kung alin ang kuha ng lx3 at d60.  di nila nahulaan.  kaya lang the d60 kitlens lang sya.  i am sure kung ibang lens gamit ko sa d60 maiiba usapan.  but i am just trying to show you na lx3 can take very good pictures.

sis, i got it from ebuystore.com.ph.  at canon stores, it is still 27k.  dun, only Php 16,400. 

it was my 2nd camera purchase already from them so i know they're reliable.

Before I'm very confuse on what to get since my bf asked me to choose between Canon s95 and Canon EOS 550D till he decided to buy the Canon EOS 550D for me. Now, I'm very happy na with it. It's lightweight plus I can pursue na with a new hobby. Yipee!!!

i agree with sis kho_leen kasi e..
na unless i'm a photographer, doon ako sa lx5..
kung hot shoe lang naman issue ko..
*though, more on manual sya which thrilled me..
and i've read na madaming SLR owner's, s95 ang pinili nila..
kasi its more compact.. e lagi ko pa naman syang dadalhin..
kasi wala na yung SE c901 ko..E72 lang phone ko, napaka-lame ng camera nito..

i got the S95 too. 

what made me decide? 

after i have read countless reviews, it was finally S95 vs LX5.

Then, i went to canon store and tried the S95.  the SA made the demo and i fell in love with it. 

my bag contrains everything but the sink --- and the S95 fits perfectly.  its so lightweight and takes great pictures.
