Suggestions for improvements here in the Phils?

 Revive counselling hotline for teenagers, aggressive campaign for responsible sexual choices. More youth oriented responsibilites and  good guidance campaign. Afterall, the youth is a nation's future hope for a better tomorrow. Too much ugly promotions for alcoholic drinks promoted by young actors and actresses.

for starters, kaya mukhang gusgusin ang metro manila dahil sa powerlines and electric posts. ang panget nya tingnan. aside from tinatambayan ng mga ibon, nasasabitan ng kung ano-anung basura, talagang masagwa lang sya tingnan. nung nag singapore ako naisip ko bakit ang sg mukhang malinis? isang nakita ko hindi nakikita yung powerlines nila. if there's a way na gawin lahat underground yung powerlines malaki magiging improvement ng itsura ng bansa natin.

There's such a big room for improvement in terms of our country's law enforcement.

Okay naman kasi ang madami sa mga batas natin, kaso ang problema ay ang pagpapasunod sa batas. Bakit sa ibang bansa like Singapore, takot na takot ang mga Pinoy na maging pasaway? Alam kasi nila na huhulihin at huhulihin sila doon, e dito sa atin? Wala! Konting pa-meryenda/under-the-table lang okay na.

I agree on this, may batas nga wala lang sumusunod.

Sa kotong na yan, nagrereklamo sila sa kotongan eh wala naman mangongotong kung walang magooffer.

Simulan lang dyan, malaki ang epekto towards improvement.

Ang daming problema ng Pilipinas ngayon. Sa dami, you can't easily point out the root cause and work on it. Can we say education may solve our country's problems? Bakit maraming educated na corrupt naman?

I hope we all imbibe good values, which I believe should start in the family.  But how can kids learn proper values at home especially when they come from dysfunctional families? 

Whatever it is, I believe it all starts within ourselves.  If we like to see some improvements, then we should not rely on others to make a difference. Why don't we think of what we can contribute for our country?

Completely eradicate political dynasty. IMO, sila ang malalaki kung mangurakot.

NAPAKADAMI. But to name some, sensya sa mahabang post:

1. Emulate Japan's education system or at least improve the education system: In early school years, hindi math or english ang tinuturo, but DISCIPLINE AND VALUES. Isama na rin sa basic and secondary education ang FINANCIAL LITERACY. And ewan ko, ang labo kasi ng K+12 program eh; halatang di napagplanuhan ng mabuti, masabi lang na may naimplement sa bansa natin. Yung 2 additional levels is supposed to be for vocational learning, but some institutions insist na dito daw dapat ilagay yung basic education sa college. Ano ba talaga?

2. I agree with sis karxn, proper law enforcement. Magaganda laws natin dito, but only a few are enforced right, and most of the time kailangan pa ng media para lang gumalaw ang law enforcing body natin sa Pinas. Eto pang isang malabo. Once na inenforce, sasabihing inaagawan na ng freedom. jusko naman @_@

3. Can't they just pass the FOI bill? Kung wala silang tinatagong anomalya, they will not be afraid on showing their transactions to the public! From here, makikita natin yung improvements nila sa paggawa ng infrastructures.

4. More infotainment, and not just about poverty please. Less family vs family, poor vs rich soap operas na rin.

5. Less bureaucracy -- just implement the national ID system and implement it everywhere... Saves all of us from going to different offices just to get an NBI clearance, license, etc.

6. Bago mag-implement ng LTE ang mga cellular companies, they might as well walk the talk with their "nationwidest" stuff. Andami pa ring lugar sa Pinas ang wala pa ni 2G signal man lang.

7. Eradicate the 60/40 business rule, pork barrel system and political dynasty. Oh yes, remove campaigns and political ads; the time we should only be seeing these politicians are during miting de avances or debates, nothing else.

8. More eco-friendly urbanization in provinces; taxes should MOSTLY proceed to the local government. Hindi naman kailangang sa Metro Manila, Cebu or Davao lang ang mga universities, malls at offices eh. Decongests the traffic, lowers the population density and lessens the pollution na rin.

9. Start within ourselves. Like for some, let's not cut lines, throw trash everywhere or follow the rules.

1. Gawing policy na lahat ng tao may retirement plan so when they get old, hindi kailangang umasa sa mga anak.
2. The only people who should be allowed to have kids are the ones who can afford it. There should be like a set minimum income per child.  Maximum should be only 2 kids per family or per single parents.
3. We should have social welfare like in the US na kapag nawalan ka ng work, the government can provide subsidy until such time na may trabaho ka na ulit.
4. Ipagbawal ang political dynasty.

Population control- I agree na i-limit sa 2 kids lang.

Ikalat yung mga industries. Para lumuwag ang Manila. More jobs in the provinces. Napakacongested na ng Manila but can you blame the people from the provinces if nandito yung work opportunities.

Gawing Tues- Sat and government agencies. Or maybe yung office or bank ang gawing Tues- Sat. I am not sure. Basta there is something to be done sa schedule. Napaka-Hassle.

National ID System. And yes, pls tanggalin na ang cedula. I do not see the point of it.

Change the TV shows. It's just not appealing. It is low class entertainment all day long.

We were heading to divisoria one time when we approached an intersection with traffic lights. There were a bunch of traffic enforcers too. I dont know ano pang purpose ng traffic enforcers when it was obvious that the lights were working fine. What annoyed me was hindi nasunod yun lights because of the enforcers.. Nung nag green yun samin pina left turn nila yun kabila.. Nun nag red yung samin pina go nila kami! What the H?

with all the problems and suggestions, i think that change has to come from within, dapat everyone would be disciplined and may love for country, hindi aasa lang sa government and have their own initiative. look at south korea, such a big change in a few years lang. then everything will fall into place.

Agree we need more mode of transportations like trains. And on tv shows, tv is one of the most powerful medium but everyday we are just fed with only 2 kinds of stuff police news and crappy telenovelas with same plot over and over again na tadtad pa ng commercials especially our country have no commercial tv regulations. Imagine the hours being wasted rather than having productive people.

Isama sa subject sa school ang pag-iipon at financial literacy. Kahit maging graduate ang buong population kung tuloy tuloy ang fondness ng ubos biyaya tapos tunganga na ating kinagisnan at kultura wala ring pupuntahan ang ating bansa.

Ang pinaka gusto kong iimprove first is yung road construction / bangketa at drainage system.

Sa lugar namin sa Valenzuela, super bahain, umambon palang ata baha na ang kalsada. Ang ginagawa ng mga namamahala, ayun tinataaasan ng tinataasan ang mga kalsada, ang mga drainage system (meron nga ba?), same parin, walang improvement, in the end, ang mga kabahayan ang binabaha dahil mataas na ang kalsada. Maganda sanang ayusin ang drainage, palakihin para sa mga overflow na tubig, gawan ng maayos na pathways ng tubig papunta sa dagat. Tapos ang mga kalsada lagyan ng maayos na lagusan ng tubig na hindi papasukin ng basura ang drainage. Hindi na need na itaas ang mga kalsada, hindi narin magiging problema ang pagbaha. At sana gawin ito ng walang namumulsa ng funds para maging quality ang materials na mabili ng hindi na aabot ng taon taon nalang gagastos para sa kalsada.

^I agree. Sa DBM website, ang pork barrel puro road improvements ang pinaglalaanan. Puro road improvements pero baha at baku-bako pa rin. Kailangan talaga maayos ang mga daan para efficient ang transportation ng goods and services para hindi masyadong mataas ang cost. Ang EDSA parang quilt ng semento at aspalto.

There are a few ways to really improve the Philippines. And by improve, not only in terms of economy and infrastructure, but improve the people, too!

First, I think learning English is important so that we can communicate with other countries better. This can open opportunities for jobs too, especially online jobs with foreign clients. More importantly, being literate in English opens filipinos to a wealth of literature, thus opening us to a wealth of ideas. Ideas are definitely important when we, as a nation, are trying to progress.

Second, I think we should strive to be classy. Not just "rich". People are not necessarily respected just because he/she has a lot of money and fancy things. People are better respected if they are classy. It starts with a few easy changes. One example is to speak nicely to others no matter what language or dialect you speak. Huwag parang palengkera magsalita. Another example is to give way to others. Huwag sumiksik o makipagunahan lagi. Pumila nang maayos. Also (this really bothers me), chew with your mouth closed!

These are just some of my ideas.
