Good day! sis, ang dali naman sayo...parang anywhere sa mall available yung daughter ko Egypt, hirap humanap, pero buti na lang may isang stall sa Cash & Carry Mall na puro costume tinda...sakto meron sila but I have to go back kasi kukuha pa daw sila ng size, I'm glad di na ko nahirapan.

Ayaw ko ng chipao(qi pao)/cheongsam kaya hanap2x muna. Sis and BIL ko nasa china today until next week sana naman mahanapan nila ng medyo maganda. Dami kasi wait staff sa mga chinese resto na parang ganun tinda sa mall kaya sana may mahanap na maayos-ayos.

United Nations Costumes

Month of October is here again.  For students and others, it is time for United Nations Day.  The celebration usually runs from October 20 to October 26.  Groups who recognize this special day, especially students from international schools, celebrate this by wearing different national costumes from different countries and some even have food fair in which food from all over the world are available.   

In my country, we have this special program in which students are chosen to represent each country and are required to wear the national costume of that country.  It could be really exciting unless you were assigned a country where finding its costume is a bit difficult.  This is the part where I will be able to help those people who are still looking for their costumes.  I found this nice store where they sell different national costumes and even small flags of different countries.

As you can see in their very colorful calling card, they specifically sell United Nations Costumes.  If in case you did not find your needed costume there, they also do made to orders.

naku sa daughter ko naman she represents the country of NEPAL... and i dont want to spend too much for this tapos by next year iba na naman? like what happen last year when she was in kinder she represent venezuela so nagpatahi ako then now NEPAL naman...ahhhh i using my creativity na lang...after the event i will upload her pics kung anong magiging result....

Thanks to this thread, I was able to buy costumes for my sons in City Textile, Quiapo.  Germany and Brazil ang napili ng mom ko who went to the store.  Cute naman.  Gina silk (the fabric used for lining blazers and gowns) ang fabric.  Puwede na yun.  Buti walang assigned country kaya hindi ako nahirapan.  Marami raw bumibili kahapon sa store, sabi ng mom ko.

Puwede rin pala magpatahi ng costume sa City Textile - oops, nawala pala yung link ng blog post about this store.  Good thing I was able to read it (and got the contact number of the store) before it was deleted.

^^nagpatahi na lang ako sis tapos if papayag mister ko sabihin ko yun na rin pamasko nya haha ipapasuot ko na lang during play time kasi nagpi-pretend2x play naman kami para d masayang

Hi Marose!  Can you PM me the number of City Textile?  Is it near the church?  Wala rin assigned country in Zoe's school so I wanna look at several options.  We'll also check out the malls.

^ako sis ms.china assigned sa anak ko nag inarte pa nanay nya nagpatahi pa d kasi bagay qipao sa anak ko. Yan din isip ko if memake-up-an pa shoes sis parang kung fu shoes pero makulay

my daughter had their UN activity last Saturday. Being half-Romanian, she was immediately assigned as Ms. Romania. I thought my mom-in-law can easily buy a costume. Kaso naman the cheapest she could find was almost 150 euros. wala pa dyan yung rush courier (about $200). The costumes are really expensive since everything is handmade

it ended up nagpagawa na lang ako. my friend's mom made the veil, dress and the belt. then i labored (for a week!) on the sewing of the lace and beading. all in all i spent around Php1k for the tela, lace, beading, and payment for the tahi. way below than the 150euros if authentic Romanian costume.

share ko lang...my daughter had a classmate who spent Php3k for made to order costume. on the day of the event, the kid refused to wear the costume. ayun they just went home.
