find a reputable breeder sis, mahirap pag sakitin, may defects like what we got super cute pero he needs surgery sa both back knees because of patella luxation(loose knees), ask if complete shots para safe for parvo and kung ano pang malalang sakit, we have two yorkies in the condo now, they are easy to maintain, mabait, sweet, hindi maingay and hindi sila mabaho:) coz may ibang dogs may smell ang skin diba, super liit ng poop so easy to clean their mess talaga.

i have two :D both are very very dear to me. i suggest find a reputable breeder and not buy from tiendesitas (that's just me ha). we bought gio from a stall in tiendesitas, when we got him, he was coughing.yun pala nahawa na siya ng kennel cough sa ibang dogs dun buti nalang pina check namin agad sa vet.

high maintenance din yorkies ha. my dogs get heartworm shots every month, shots ( kennel cough, rabies, etc)every year, grooming twice a month. vitamins everyday (nutri-pet), baths thrice a week, not to mention mapili sila sa food. i tried eukanuba, royal canin for yorkies, alpo in cans so far, ang type nila alpo dry yung lamb.

but super worth it lahat.i  love, love my dogs :)

Please research about the breed and look for reputable breeders.

Years ago, I got a dog there, the dog looks fine and quality sya, pero after few months nalaman namin na one-ball and weak ang knees nya. Pero di sinabi yan ng seller, ang bukambibig nya ay show quality at good for stud yung aso. My friend also got a dog there, ang ganda rin ng aso pero after 2 years, they found out na may cancer, ngayon wala na ang aso. Imagine 2 years lang may cancer na, yan pa lang ang time that dogs reach their maturity pero may cancer na kaagad? It's very important na makita yung parents ng puppy, and the way the breeders treat them, believe me dito tayo magbabase ng magiging future ng pups natin. Stop patronizing petshops, don't even think of buying from them, utang na loob wag tayong macute-an sa mga asong nakadisplay, hindi sila bagay na dapat nakadisplay. There is more to petshop dogs than meets the eye, research about backyard breeders and petshops dogs, maiintindihan nyo ko  ;)

I really wanted a female yorkie. so i tried to reseach sa net ng mga breeders. so yesterday the whole day kame nag tingin ng yorkie. theres this one breeder nun nakita yun pup nya para di masyadong mukhang yorkie parang may halo na pomeranian then nalaman ko sa kanya rin galing na nag breed din sya ng pom feeling ko nahalan kaso ang nakakainis di naman nya aminiin na mutt yun yorkie and he is selling it for 26k kakainins talaga kaya umalis na lang kame. i went to tiendesittas naman binalikan ko yun nakita ko lastweek na female yorkie. So i was already decided to take that puppy kaso pansin ko parang di na sya masigla at matamlay sya sabi nun owner ng pet shop baka malungkot kase nakuha na yun kapatid nya. so since decided na ako to buy it imagine 30k yun puppy and i will use credit card at may 6 percent pa na additional. but then sabi ko papatingin ko muna sa vet dun din sa tiende to make sure na ok yun puppy. so the vet conducted several tests, ears were checked negative naman for earmites, then stool smear din ata kung may mga protozoa so ok naman hanggat un ng check for parvo and corona canin virus which is 900 yun kit na yun hala ayun nag postivie yun puppy ng corona virus.. :-\ :'( kaawawa so di so na sya kinuha buti na lang kahit nagastusan ako ng 1k at least naman di na sayang yun 30 k ko kase nakakamatay yun ganun sakit daw sa mga puppies sa ni ni doc vet. he told me upfront na nakaharap yun assistant ng owner na shop dont get the dog.. at sinabi nya dun na dapat incubate nya yun dog na yun at nakakahawa din daw.. nyakkksss

^That's the reason sis bakit ganito na lang ako magrant pagusapang petshop dogs na. I myself got the dream dog of my life from Tiende, you are lucky because you had the chance to bring the dog to a vet bago mo siya makuha, pero kami, it's too late na, kundi deads na ang asong nabili, I think most are suffering from a faulty dog or spending too much for vet bills dahil poor ang health ng aso.

^ I agree.

^Tama ka, wala ngang nutrients sa Beef pro, check the ingredients puro grains and by-products. Royal Canin may be considered as a premium brand, but check the ingredients, may corn, wheat, soy. Keep in mind na walang enough enzymes ang mga aso to digest plant matters, so kung may grains ang dogfood, mahihirapan sila tunawin ang mga yan. Grains are considered as fillers, manufacturers know that grains can bulk up a dog but it doesn't have nutritional value, usually yan ang nilalagay nila para makatipid. Always check the ingredients, meat should be the first one on the list, no corn, soy, wheat, gluten, no by-products, with little to no salt and preservatives. Tip dyan is pag di mo mapronounce or di mo alam yung ingredient, wag mo ng pansinin and turn to other brands na haha!

Regarding transition of food, it should be done within 2 weeks, first 3 days mix only 1/4 of new food the rest is old food na, next 3 days 1/2 new food 1/2 old food, then for 3 days again 3/4 new food, the rest old food. Hanggang sa puro new food na yung kinakain nya.

RC is a popular brand but many owners are asking why is corn on their list? There's something fishy diba? I suggest to look for other brands like Go Natural, Orijen, Acana, Solid Gold, Canidae. Same price lang sila with Royal Canin but quality wise, much better ang mga yan. Compare mo sis ang ingredients sa RC, and you will see the difference  ;)

Through forums and net talaga ako natuto. Actually, more than 3 years ago na lang ulit ako nagalaga na hands on talaga ako.

Pero take note marami ring human food na bawal sa kanila like cooked bones and fats; too much oil, garlic, onions, soy sauce, patis, salt, rice; veggie and fruit seeds, pits, peels; chocolates; grapes. Kakain at kakain din yan, basta be firm sa 10-15min rule, and provide fresh water all the time, siya rin ang susuko.

Actually, sa mga nabanggit mong brands, wala akong nakitang okay, tignan mo even your dog alam niyang di maganda mga yun kaya di nya kinain haha! Choosy ako sis pagdating sa food kasi malaking factor ang food sa overall health nila, that's why homecooked, raw feeding and the brands that I've posted earlier are the only ones that I would recommend.
