Update lang! After a week we brought him back for a check up and xray. May liquid pa din Pero, sabi we'll wait na lang til it goes away on his own. Last weekend, I brought him in again kasi his breathing was labored nanaman, pero sobrang kulit and sobrang lakas na kumain. Another xray and the liquid's still there, but not enough to need aspiration again (whew!). So now he's ack on diuretics. Buti na lang lakas pa din kumain! And he's gaining his old weight back na (yay!) Yun lang talaga naaawa ako minsan kasi parang nahihirapan siya huminga. I really hope the diuretics help flush out the excess liquid from his chest na! Kawawa naman!

I bought a 3-mo old Persian cat from my cousin last Wednesday. First time ko magalaga ng cat! Buti she's potty trained na. I named her Lucille. She's healthy naman, very active and marunong siyang sumunod pag tinatawag ko. My only concern is that masyado siyang clingy! I mean, wala pa siyang one week sakin pero pag nakikita niya ako gusto niya laging nakadikit sakin. I let her sleep in my room with me, pero gusto niya on top of me siya matulog! I don't know if di lang ako sanay because I've never had a pet before. Pag nasa bed na ako she goes up to my face tapos hinahalikan and dinidilaan niya lips ko. Ganun na rin ako magising ngayon, and super aga pa! I made her a sleeping spot pero mas prefer niyang nakapatong or dikit sakin. Minsan kahit naglalakad lang ako, sumasabay siya tapos gusto niya between my feet siya naglalakad. And pag naliligo naman ako, pagbukas ko ng door after, naka-abang lang siya sakin sa kabilang side. Normal ba yun sa pusa?

i am so jealous!  first time ko din magalaga ng cat, pero i'm too clingy for her. baligtad.  gusto ko katabi ko cia makatulog and lagi cia nakadikit, at ayoko yung di ko cia nakikita.  pero lumalayo cia sa kin. tapos pag binubuhat ko cia, kinakagat nia ako.  tapos pag matutulog na cia, dun cia pumupunta sa mga places na super tago, yung tipong di ko cia maaabot.  kahit ilipat ko cia sa tabi ko, umaalis cia.     she doesn't love me!   

the only time na sumasama cia sakin is yung pag kinakarga ko cia parang baby, tapos ginagala ko cia sa labas.  yun super saya nia pag ganun kasi andami nia nakikita. pag ganun, nakayakap pa talaga cia sa dibdib ko and kinikiss nia ako. tee hee!.

^^sis iamjoei, i am trying to feed her more often.  mas madalas kasi na mom ko ang nagfifeed sa kanya, kaya mas malambing cia sa mom ko.  pero this weekend, mejo madalas na cia lumapit at matulog sa tabi ko kasi buong weekend ako nagfeed sa kanya. ganun pala yun. hehe.

question lang: ano ang beverage na pinapainom nio? after eating kasi yung canned cat food, ayaw niya uminom ng water. ang hilig pa naman niya makipaghabulan sa mga invisible things. hehe.  baka kako mapagod at mauhaw.  so the whole day, talagang cat food lang ang intake niya.  nagwoworry ako baka madehydrate cia. is that normal?

I just always make sure their water bowl is available and clean. So anytime they feel like drinking, they can. Once in awhile, I give them milk, too. They really love it.

Our cat has her lambing moments too... When she was still less than a year old, gusto nya sa dibdib ko lagi natutulog. Everytime she sees me lying on my back on the bed, ayan na sya. Ngayon di na kasi she's a big girl na saka mabigat! Ang hirap na huminga! Haha!

But every friday night she sleeps with us... She sleeps on my pillow. Tulog na ako tapos biglang meow sya and hinahawi nya yun buhok ko to wake me up. Parang nagpapaalam. Hanggat di ako sumasagot, kalabit sya ng kalabit. Sa ulo pa! Buti na nga lang hindi matalas claws nya.

just wanna share that recently my two cats (male and female, both siamese) fight endlessly. the female cat seems to be more aggressive. and sometimes when she's anxious, naghiss sya samen and medyo nangangalmot. but not when she's relaxed. i think alpha cat sya.

si male cat naman minsan aggressive din pero most of the time sya yung tahimik lang. ang prob ko lang is matakaw sya sobra, and he eats sa food bowl nung female cat. may ugali sya na he doesn't finish his bowl until ubos yung food nung isa, like he's reserving the food for future consumption, leaving the other cat with no food to eat. nangayayat na nga yung isa dahil sa ganitong situation. medyo kasi humina din kumain si female. they now share the same litter box, kasi the male cat didn't want to use his litter box na lang one day and chose the other's litter box instead. sobrang messy din ni male cat sa litter box eh medyo pihikan and hygiene conscious yung female. kaya madalas ayun we find the female cat peeing and pooping in places aside from the litter box dahil siguro nadudumihan sya. we clean and change litter twice a day but naaabutan na lang namin mga ganitong scenes when we get home after a day's work. nakaka-stress minsan especially when they fight. pero wala naman mortal wounds whatsoever. just scratches here and there and talagang we trim their claws more often than usual na to avoid deep cuts.

the vet said it's normal lalo na kasi at nagmamature na yung male cat kaya nag-eestablish sya ng dominance over the female. but it looks to me na hindi magpapa-rule si female cat sa kanya. sometimes we cage yung nag-start ng fight for a short while, mag-stop yung fights pero eventually dun nanaman ang tuloy.

My cat is diagnosed with CKD or renal failure. He's still in the vet hospital in Makati. My family is in great grief when we found out that his kidneys are not functioning well anymore. Today is his 6th night in Animal House, Jupiter.

Has anyone also experienced having cats with renal failure? What happened? And how did you cope with it?

sis geekybride - i have two Persian kittens (isang 4 months and isang 5 months).  Before, ayaw nila mashado uminom ng water.  So I did some research, cats usually get their water content in food, I noticed na yung kittens ko would drink less pag wet food ang kinakain.  Aside from the wet food na pinapakain namin, nag-iiwan din kami ng dry food (pellets) for them during the day.  Nung napapansin namin na kumakain na sila ng dry food, mas nagiging mainom na sila ng water.

Don't worry.  Just leave a bowl of clean water everyday, iinom din yung cat mo

Share ko lang, kittens pala are prone to mga bacteria sa tyan. Nakailang punta kami sa vet dahil dun!  Ang seselan pala nila while young   So the vets prescribed na distilled water and inumin and not from the tap.  So yung iniinom na water ng cats namin , same sa filtered water na iniinom namin.

Sis, I want to give my cats milk too for added nutrition.  Kahit ba hindi na young kittens, mahilig parin sila sa milk?

What milk do you give them?  Pwede ba sa cats yung KMR kahit di na sila ganun ka-bata?  TIA

I'm praying that someone here could lend me a hand about my cat's ailment... He had 3 seizures this morning according to his doctor. He's been in the vet hosp for 2 weeks now.. He looks super tough though. And his numbers lowered from his last blood work.

Recently switched to Natural Balance wet and dry food.  They use the Clevercat top entry litterbox and the Omega Paw litterbox. 

Our Halo used to get UTIs but since we added wet food to her diet shes had no episodes.

ganito yung nangyari kay Ming, yung pinaka love kong pet namin, sadly he died, ndi niya na nakayanan kahit may meds pa siya, super iyak ko nun..

until now everytime naaalala ko siya and the pain that he went through naiiyak pa din ako, super sweet kasi talaga niya..

^I get my supply at S&R. A 30lb Purrfect Litter (all-natural/multi-cat/hard clumping) bin sells for Php699.00 while the 40lb Clean Litter bin sells for less than 1K. But I usually go for the former kasi cheaper and mas malalaki yung bato so it's not makalat.
