true. sa simula mahirap talaga. but once masanay ka, madali na sya.. ako parang nasanay na [textspeak!] katawan ko sa 1 cup of rice a day lang. and sa umaga lang talaga.. so di ko na sya hinahanap.. sana tuloy tuloy na.. i just need to lose 4 lbs na lang at hit ko na ideal weight ko.

ya i significantly reduced my rice intake. as in from 2-3 cups per meal to half or none na. 5 years na and i'm loving my body

Rice talaga daming calories. 1 cup is mga 220 calories x3 meals = 660 calories din mababawas /day.

yes, that is true. Ako sanay na ako walang rice kaya parang kakayanin ko until next pregnancy plan namin ni hubby, pero brown rice ang eat ko nun if ever.

I agree na madali lang na walang rice kapag nasanay na. Filipinos are  used to it like how Americans are used to bread. Nung nagsimula ako na walang rice, nung tumagal hindi na hinanap ng panlasa ko..

i eat oatmeal na for all my meals. no rice for 2 weeks now and i'm happy with the results.

madali ka mabusog ang matagal ka ulit magutom pag siniksik mo ng gulay ang tummy mo.

what's great about is that vegetables are very low in calories.

oatmeal and ulam kinakain ko. i can't starve kasi i had gastritis back in 2007. ayoko maulit. since i eat oatmeal to replace rice, i noticed na nawala yung ibang bulges ko. lumiit tummy ko. about 4 months to go before my baby's birthday so i need to lose weight. sa umpisa para talagang nakakasuka kumain ng oatmeal but you get used to it lalo na if you have a major reason to go on a diet. samahan pa ng workout and papayat talaga. i tried drinking slimming coffee pero di ako hiyang. i decided to give up rice. kakain na lang ako ng bonggang bongga pag pumayat na ako.

oh no.. i'm not a gulay person.. hehe..  ito yung mga kinakain ko instead: takuyaki, biscuit, fried camote, fried potato, pork and beans or popcorn..at maraming tubig..  hehe.. 'yan yung mga trip kong kainin.. ok lang ba yan mga sis? or nakakataba? tia

Mga Sis, when you say Oatmeal and ulam?  for example, fried chicken sasabay sa oatmeal? 

Also do you put sugar and milk? or plain oatmeal lang?

^yup. if my family eats pinakbet and fish, i do also. i just eat oatmeal instead of rice. wag lang kumain ng sobrang daming fatty viands. in moderation din. i add a li'l sugar and milk. sometimes, a li'l milo. pansin ko madali ako mabusog lately. i eat oatmeal for brunch, merienda and dinner. if i feel hungry at night, i eat oatmeal. kaya ko naman walang rice. masasanay ka rin, sis. try mo kumain ng rice twice a day then once until totally replace mo ng oatmeal. give yourself a reward though. i eat rice once pag weekends. konti lang. cheat day ko na yun. hirap naman kasi madeprive. filipinos kasi talaga mahilig sa rice.

well in my case i must say it's a YES!
but i think malaking factor din yung mga sweets, oily and salty food, mga processed food that we eat ...

I remember before ako nagpakasal back in 2004 - I replaced rice with oatmeal instead + non fat milk...namayat namayat naman ako ... mga 6 months din ako NO RICE at all nun :)

yes, i think eating less rice will help you get slimmer.. i agree with the others na carbs kasi talaga mabilis sila magpa gain ng weight. hehe

bsta when you're trying to slim down dont forget fibrous food, high in dietary fiber. [textspeak!] it will help you shed that extra weight. :D

it's not necessary.  with P90x, you have to eat a cup of brown rice.  all in all, it depends on how active you are with your workout.  you need energy.  you don't want naman to have low sugar.

if you are active and tend to run around a lot, please eat your rice.

For me yes. Nagawa ko na dati for 2 yrs no rice diet, paminsan minsan kumakain din ng kanin pero konti lang talaga, effective talaga. pero four years after napabayaan ko diet ko at lumobo ako ng halos umabot ako sa 150lbs. Balik na ulit ako ngyon sa less or minsan no rice. 135-140 lbs na ako ngayun, goal ko makabalik sa 115-120 lbs na normal weight ko

ako I put a little sugar, dati nga I tried putting honey. Gusto ko yung flavored oatmeal. Minsan ito lang kinakain ko for lunch okay na ko. Isa rin oatmeal sa comfort food ko lalo na when I have my period, madalas pa man din ako bloated kapag merong period.
