for me its useful.because i work (or sleep!) all day, and when i wake up, tada! homecooked meal!  but there are some food that i wouldn't cook sa slow cooker, like adobo.my hubby says it doesn't taste the same..oh well..

we have one at home, it's very useful but it will take hours.  We used it for cooking beef caldereta and paksiw na pata.  Kung dinner namin plan kumain lunch time palang ginigisa na yung ingredients at palalambutin nalang sa slow cooker.  This thing is like a pressure cooker pero it takes longer hours.

love using my slow cooker i use it for kare kare, corned beef, mechado, sinigang, pochero, chicken recipes.. almost anything for stove top. i like prepping it at night and leave it on cooking pag gising luto na. but i would hate to leave it on while im out of the house. it's really convenient.

how long do you normally cook your sinigang sa slow cooker? does the meat tenderize well?

we have people coming over for dinner kasi this weekend and I'm sooo busy running chores na wala akong time to cook!

yeap mine comes out good. the meat doesn't become dry since soup naman yung lulutuin you can cook it 8 hrs on low or 4 hours high. or experiment im guessing 2 hours on high and 4 on low will also work. depende rin  sa size ng pot mo.

if 8 hrs on low bisitahin mo nalang the meat in about 6 hours kung ok na yun sa iyo and also on high like after 3hrs. check mimportant not to overcook kasi dun nag iiba yung texture ng meat it gets dry mali ko, do that lang if your not familiar pa with how food comes out on your slow cooker. i just put mine and time it tapos the meat comes out tender.

yung leaves don't put it in until you serve it like the kangkong put in maybe like 3 mins. before serving just wash them real well. pati the sitaw put it in like a few minutes before para lang si soggy at maging parepareho ang kulay nila.

siguro try making a batch before the weekend para maging confident ka with the dish. goodluck!

ay di ko alam kung mataas sa kuryente lalo when i leave it overnight. depende rin siguro sa brand yung number of hours baka iba iba heating element nila. siguro para lang syang heater ng kwarto hahaha labo..di ko alam talaga.

^^^mine is rival crockpot.

^uy mas masarap ang food sa palayok kesa sa slow cooker! iba flavor ng sinaing lalo na kung uling ang ginamit.

^^if you plan on doing bulalo check mo rin after a few hours minsan kasi pag matagal nakakalungkot pag nagdidisappear yung marrow...and basta don't overcook para the meat won't dry out.

What's a good mid-range slow cooker these days? I want to own one because it's so convenient coming home to hot food that you prepared yourself. :D It really helps when you're on a diet!

basta when i use my slow cooker for beef or pork, isang kuluan muna ako sa kalan para mawala ang dumi ng meat then i transfer it to the slow cooker. pa-oblong ang slow cooker ko, hindi bilog.

we made bistek using pork chops. very tender siya. pina-fry ko muna ng 1 minute on each side and then lagay na sa slow cooker. on high for 3 hours. i wish longer pa. then pina-fry ko ang onion rings, lagay sa slow cooker before serving.

I have used many different slow cookers in my lifetime and the Kyowa is the most dangerous one i have found. One the second use the glass lid literally exploded on me. Wasting a perfectly good spareribs cantonese in the process.

This occurred within about 3 hours of using it on the low heat setting... So maybe you should look for another model to use....
