I use my slowcooker to make Pho Bo, or Vietnamese Beef noodle soup. Traditionally, it takes at least 4 hours. With my slow cooker, I put it on for 9 hours on low heat. I usually prepare it at night, so when I wake up in the morning, I can have a big bowl of Pho for breakfast. Ive also used it for baked potatoes ( i wrap the potatoes in aluminum foil), bbq ribs, beef stew and cream-based soups.

basta when i use my slow cooker for beef or pork, isang kuluan muna ako sa kalan para mawala ang dumi ng meat then i transfer it to the slow cooker. pa-oblong ang slow cooker ko, hindi bilog.

*nice idea sis.....ganyan nga gawin ko before ilagay sa slow cooker.... :)

i am slow cooking beef nilaga for tonight. pinakulo ko ang beef cubes at ngayon nakasalang na siya sa slow cooker. mamaya maglalaga ako ng chinese cabbage, potatoes and corn to add to the soup. lalagyan ko din pala siya ng knorr beef cubes.

@sis romina, can you please post your recipe for beef pho? hubby LOVES beef pho kasi!

^ Have you tried gourdo's for the cardamom pods? Or if there's a bakery supply store near you, you might find the pods there. I once had some pods that I bought at cook's exchange before, but I don't know where they are na.

Mune is not really slow cooker but serves as one. Im using thermos thermo pot you just boil then put it in the thermos then i reheat every 2 hours.. It acts like a thermos so no electricity :-
I find this sulit because i use this for stock making, adobo, beef stew and all. :-)

Even pumpkin soup :-) i find this very tipid sa gas :-)

I use Kyowa, so far so good naman, Pot roast, pork ribs, are uber soft and malinamnam, warning lang, if you are trying to have others cook using it, make sure sabihan nyo na konting water lang.

6hrs on low. Or 4hrs on high. Ive made pho before with my slow cooker and after 4hrs on high, the beef melts like butter inside my mouth.

This is my preferred reciped for pot roast, simple lang http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/09/2008_the_year_of_the_pot_roast/

and the thing about cooking using a crock pot is cheap cut  of beef ang gamitin mo so it can hold up long hours and come out tender. I think if super tender yung bilhin mo eh matutunaw/mag cchiip [textspeak!] beef haha also dapat konting water lang, mag add kana ng sabaw pag matatapos na.
Kyowa is my slow cooker and its true about the shattering glass!!  buti nalang hinde ako nag luluto that time, we just bought another lid and now every time I cook i put aluminum foil to act as a layer baka mag shatter nanaman while I cook. I have read reports on it, even the original crock pot brand na slow cooker, ewan ko ganun ata talaga ang thermal glass yung iba hinde maganda. There are some out there that sell ones with a plastic lid. I hope I can find a metal lid na kasya dun.
