ang minimalist living ba is the same as frugal living? lately, ang dami ko nakikita sa IG na mga accounts na about frugal living, most of them are based in the US. nakaka-inspire sila. alam ko there's a difference between the two pero ayoko naman gumawa ng bagong thread hehe.

^In my case, they go hand in hand. Minimalism makes me frugal na rin becasue I don't buy much. Halimbawa shoes, every two years lang yata ako bumibili. I don't feel deprived at all--wala happy ako kasi with what I have and I really enjoy my things until they fall apart.

Dati parang shopping was my hobby. Now as in it repulses me, so boring and napapagod ako. Hahaha! With minimalism I developed other hobbies that have nothing to do with shopping, like running and swimming, coloring books, learning how to cook, etc.

But frugal for me doesn't mean buying the cheapest things--I am interested in value, not price. So minsan kahit mahal pero ang tagal masira, I buy it--like cooking implements, etc.

Just last June, my daughter initiates clean up drive sa lahat ng gamit namin, since may Star city sila ng friends nila at as much as possible bawal humingi ng cash sa parents so naisip ng anak ko mag benta ng mga hindi ginamit at mag donate ng mga maliit na damit or hindi na ginagamit sobrang dami namin for donation, from toys, dress, kitchen and school stuff.

then all the things we have in our house are the one we need and important

wag nyong biglain, sis..
portion to portion lang, like 1 drawer muna, not entire cabinet

Siguro not as sobrang minimalist, kasi ititira namin yung magagamit naman.

:) Dream ko din to, someday to just have the exact amount of stuff for my needs.

Andami ko kasing kalat. I used to be a hoarder. I have donated several times na pero ang kalat pa din.

Watching KDrama inspires me also to organize my stuff pati indoor plants meron na rin ako 😊. I stopped collecting accessories and shoes ko pang everyday gamit na lang and one piece for every occasion.

I practice this. Ayoko kasi madaming gamit sa bahay. Only things that can be used or are needed lang.
Nakakalatan, naguguluhan at nasisikipan talaga ako tignan.

Among our family, yung asawa ko ang ganyan but i try to minimize it. And as early as now, tinuturuan ko mga anak ko about that.

Every school break, pinapabawas ko ng mga unnecessary stuffs collected over a period of time ang mga anak ko (mga papel papel, dried up slimes etc)

Every end of school year naman, they go through their clothes para ipamigay na yung mga maliliit at hindi na kasya. And i tell them they have to do that so we will know how many at ano ang mga kailangan bilhin.

Pahabol:
If there is one pala gusto ko bumili just for the sake of it...plates, dinnerware set. Esp if magandang style at design.
One time i was thinking of buying another set, then my bunso asked me, ?Do we really need more plates??  Toinks! ?Hmmm no, not really? sabay alis agad sa section na yun. Lol

eco brick eto yung, iipunin mo lahat ng basura mo, foil, plastic then gugupitin mo sya into pieces then ilalagay mo sa empty soda bottles..

naging habbit ko na yun after eating, lagay sa timba lahat ng foil, plastic, sinasabon ko then pag natuyo saka ko gugupitin, magandang pang tanggal ng stress ang pag gugunting.. hehe

Since I started watching penelopepopart, I got inspired to also adopt a minimalist fashion lifestyle. I have always liked minimalist interior in homes, but, I have a problem with not shopping.  ;D  So I regularly give away items when I buy new ones so I don't crowd my home with stuff. Unfortunately, for clothes, I shop at least once a week so even if I give away my clothes every quarter, there's always a lot. When I watched penelope's vlogs, she made me realize I can't say I care for the environment if I keep buying fast fashion items which will eventually contribute to the earth's waste. I stopped myself from buying clothes if they're not "basic looking" (those that do not go out of fashion). Surprisingly, after abstaining from shopping for a few weeks, I found it easier to not buy stuff even when I'm inside the mall.

I opened an online shop dun ko binebenta mga preloved ko. When is started ang dami kong binebenta umabot agad ng 1000 followers ko in less than 3months. I was decluttering my place, then habang lumuluwag yung place ko parang nagiging mas aware na ako sa clutter.

Ngayon i only buy what i need. I pick good quality ones kahit medyo mahal basta good quality para it prevents me from buying a lot of the same thing.

Main reason ko din is the environment. If we stop buying what we don?t need mas kumokonti ang trash and also pinapayaman lang natin ang mga capitalist while tayo lalong naghihirap.

Part of our minimalist living lifestyle eh buying membership to museums, art gallery, park/attractions, ski resorts. It?s not cheap but our daughter loves it. It skips the hoarding of toys.

I can say that I am a quite a hoarder.  Looking at articles about minimalism makes me thing that maybe it's time to lessen and give away things I don't use.

Anyone has tips on how to start? to be honest thinking about it gives me a bit of anxiety since I am emotionally attached to most of the items I have.
