I wouldn't consider myself really minimalist. But I am trying to modify the way I do things. I don't want clutter in my life anymore. This is why I stopped going to sales because I end up buying stuff I wear once only.  I try to buy only quality items but only a few pieces. When I travel I never buy souvenirs. Heck, I don't even want a Christmas tree in my house because it is a storage nightmare!

BUT here's my problem. I am a bit sentimental. For instance, can't bring myself to sell my wedding gown or give away my kid's baby cute baby clothes. Being minimalist is a lifestyle and it is really takes an effort.

I BECAME super serious about trying to be minimalist when I married my husband. I discovered my MIL is a HOARDER and grabe lang the feeling when you enter her room. Sobrang depressing to go to her room because of her hoarding habits.

I can't live being a minimalist, mahirap, declutter na nga lang nahihirapan na ako. I'm slowly starting in my closet, ngayon na nag gain weight ako I have to get rid of a ton of clothes, may iba ayoko ko pang i give up. Pero I usually think 5 times na ngayon before buying more stuff :D

"We're living our life depending on the space we've got rather than creating our space to fit our lives"--- Minimalism: a documentary about the important things, Netflix

...this docu is worth watching :)

My family and bf can never be minimalists, LOL. They always tell me na nagsasayang daw ako ng gamit by throwing them away when it can still be used in the future, o kaya someday they will not sell these items na raw and I will regret getting rid of them, or maganda pa naman daw, let's keep it! I see their point naman, pero kung ganyan din eh I think you have to be really organized and creative on how you store these extra stuff, which sadly they're not. Okay lang daw sa kanila to live in a medyo cluttered home, haha. To each his own talaga.

Minimalism can also help you save money in the long run. Lots of times, we buy things because we want it not because we really need it.

^sis try to search sa iba thread. but you can get ideas here

Anyway, I started when I watched the 2 guys: The Minimalists on netflix.
FIrst i declutter my desk tapos, I declutter my social media. It is not just about material things pero kasama na dito ang connections and relationships. Also, ideas.

Sa house naman, I try to declutter lagi every Sunday I clean closet and other parts of our small apartment and make sure to find things to throw kahit 2 garbage bags. feeling ko ang gaang ng house. We are moving next year. Minimalist lang rin pinatayo namin na house. Small space lang parang nasa docu ng The minimalist. Small space na up and down. I think it is a great opportunity to practice more minimalism.

I find inner peace dahil sa minimalism. :) I hope all sisses here  do too...one step at a time.

^agree ako about decluttering social media relationships. I unfriended people whose posts stress me out. ngayon ang nakikita ko na lang are posts that make me smile or make me think--mga constructive ideas, hindi puro nega at bashing.

Project ko to since last year and i always watch sa youtube for motivation. I can focus more sa work ko and mas madaming time to chill kasi konti nalang lilinisin ko.

I save ngayon to get furnitures para mas maayos yung gamit.

and also no to events souvenir like sa binyag, wedding etc..

This is what I'm trying to do since last year.

Nasa bahay lang ako for the past month because of maternity leave so nagka-time ako maghalugkat.

Andami naming vcd and dvd players na di ko alam if gumagana pa. And also mga hard drive na korteng rewinder ng betamax tape dati. At mga cds and dvds na kung ano2x. And so much more.  Junk lahat.

i'm trying to be more minimalist din. i just got rid of 2/3 of my entire wardrobe and ang sarap ng feeling. i haven't read marie kondo but i used joy as a deciding factor on whether or not i should keep something.  ;D i also haven't shopped for new clothes in nearly a year now.

what i really want is a curated wardrobe: basics and items in classic silhouettes. essential jewelry & accessories. i no longer do trends because hindi na rin naman bagay.

Joining for more inspiration, I noticed I've enjoyed decluttering since I relocated abroad for work, I'm kind of in between places so I felt the need to "travel light" all the time and have all my essentials with me in a suitcase lang ganyan na kasya na lahat, I avoided buying stuff that I don't need and will not utilize often. If by mistake/circumstance, I buy a particular piece of clothing and alam ko na di ko naman gusto, or di kasya, I immediately give it away, or itatabi ko para ipamigay sa Pinas. I can survive with 1 bag for work, 1 bag for parties, 1 bag for traveling and 1 luggage, I kid you not. ;D I also have 1 pair of work shoes, 1 pair of running shoes, 1 pair of flip flops, 1 pair of heels, 1 pair of flat sandals or slip on, I notice na kapag may sobra akong shoes or bag, hinde ko din naman nagagamit, nasasayangan ako so I just give it away, or bibili lang ako kapag masisira na yung gamit ko. I tend to have a decent amount of clothes naman since we do not have a uniform, and I work for 6 days a week. Pero in comparison with my Workmates, konti pa din yung sakin, in rotation lang talaga damit ko hehe maski yung pambakasyon ko sa Pinas. I am very comfortable with this lifestyle. Even sa room namin dito, and sa house sa Pinas I see to it that very basic lang ang gamit, mas madali maglinis, mas maaliwas at presko sa mata, tipid pa. I try to apply it maski sa kitchen, groceries, toiletries, make up and accessories.
