ang caritas manila ata nagpi-pickup ng donations, tapos they sell it sa shops nila. malamang the proceeds go to their charity, so if you are more inclined to donate, i guess this is a good alternative.

Latest minimalist living ko is about wedding preps. I realized last year that yung mga gagamitin sa kasal dapat magagamit din sa ibang bagay at pang araw araw na buhay. For example, the bride's shoes. I decided not to buy white shoes. Baket? Ang mahalagang itabi is memories, the pictures, the videos.... Tapos tambak lang after. ;-)

We have section/area per things, we have toys section. school supplies area, bags and shoes section, accesories area, gadget/charger area, eyeglasses and shades/ watch section at anything na madalas na nakakalat para once nakakalat alam na nila where to put, at pag may hinanap alam nila kung saan hahanapin.  I also alot a committee for each section para siya ang assign pag need to organize or need hanapin..

Minimalist living is also my goal for 2015.  I really want to save up for a major investment in 2015 so this is a perfect thing to do.

For skincare, beauty care,  I think I have always been minimalist.  My makeup stash consist of just 1 liquid foundie, a blush, a highlighter, loose powder,a couple of pots of liptint, and a few lipsticks (5).  I am loyal to a few brands --- Guerlain, Benefit, Kiko, TonyMoly, Skinfood, and just replenish the stash with the same items once naubos na sila.  Even sa fragrances, usually two perfumes and one daily cologne lang ang meron ako at a time.

Last year na-addict ako sa amazon prime service, mga flash deals for branded goodies, so medyo madami dami akong nabili na mga damit, so this year hinay ako sa shopping. Smart Casual lang naman kami sa office so aside from a few key pieces to wear pag may client meetings, okay na ako sa 7 pairs denims, a few casual dresses, at a few skirts.  I really have no reason to shop for clothes this year.

Pati sa food I will stick to minimalist rules na rin.  I used to be a food hoarder, and madalas masiraan ako ng food since I live alone and minsan I buy my dinners out din, but 2015, will eat my dinners at home as much as possible, avoiding processed foods and precooked goodies.

Last summer, nawalan ako ng work. So kinailangan kong magtipid. Kasi may kailangan akong bayaran. More productive din like, more books, more movies, nakapag exercise na, mas maluwag na kwarto, mas onting gamit, mas healthy diet (no fast and processed food) na hindi ko nagagawa nung may work pa kasi office + social life.

Hihi.

I am trying to be minimalist sa bahay at sa pamumuhay. So far, ito yung mga ginagawa/nagawa namin:

1. We rented our wedding attire during our nuptial. Nagrent lang ako ng gown, it is still my design and first use ako pero binalik ko after the wedding. Si hubby, nagrent naman ng kanyang barong. Aside from being cheaper, ayaw kasi namin yung nakatambak lang sa bahay.
3. We only have 1 mug and 1 drinking glass allotted per person sa bahay. Ayoko ng maraming glassware sa bahay.
5. I only have few bags and shoes. Sa bags, 1 backpack, 2 shoulder bags, 1 cluth for formal affair and. Sa shoes naman konti lang din. 1 rubber shoes, 1 sneakers, 2 crocs, 2 formal shoes, 1 havs

Paano ginagawa nyo sa mug at baso?after gamit wash nyo agad?
What if may bisita kayo sis?

^sis possible naman kahit may kids.  Importante  lang na from time to time eh  check mga gamit ng kids na hindi na kasya   at ipamigay agad.

^tuwing morning lang kami gumagamit ng mug for coffee/hot chocolate. After gamitin, hugas agad. If may bisista, kami gumagamit ng mug..sila yung drinking glass.. We have spare drinking glasses naman, regalo nung kasal pero di pa nabubuksan.

If every may bisita, we use plastic cups which is super bihira naman.

Kumpleto pa sa bahay yun books at notebooks nya since elementary! OMG! Gusto ko itapon lahat. Pati yun toys nya nun bata pa sya nasa bahay.

Kontra si hubby at in laws sakin. OMG.

^haays ganyan yung in-laws ko, HOARDERS. buti na lang we don't live with them. pag dumadlaw kami sa bahay nila nahihilo ako sa dami ng gamit. and the thing is, they are not able to keep everything clean sa sobrang dami. yikes!

pero i am trying to open-minded about the hoarding mentality. ang nabasa ko dyan, some people grew up na medyo hirap (like my in-laws) so takot silang magtapon for the fear na kailanganin nila later on.

nabasa ko rin na minimalists tend to be more well-off. kasi if a minimalist suddenly needs something, alam nyang mabibili nya. he/she doesn't have to hold on to something because he/she can afford to replace it.

Not really kasi if you're a minimalist, you don't spend much unnecessary stuff so you have extra funds to buy something you need?

Pwedeng pwede naman ang minimalist living kahit na may anak... kaming family, since kami ng husband ko started our efforts towards minimalist lifestyle since we got married (even while preparing for our wedding), nakamulatan na ng anak ko na konti lang ang gamit nya... at hindi rin kami laging namimili... we just make sure we have enough of what we need at home lalo na yung pang emergency like medicine.

Not really kasi if you're a minimalist, you don't spend much unnecessary stuff so you have extra funds to buy something you need?

it's a cycle, kaya siguro nasabing 'well off' ang mga minimalists because they are able to save more money as a consequence of not buying unnecessary stuff. pero may mga critics saying na you need to be rich to begin with before you can afford to become a minimalist.  eto yung nabasa ko:

"The only way to own very little and be safe is to be rich.

Basically, minimalism is largely something only well-off people can afford to pursue, because their wealth provides a cushion of safety. If they get rid of something, and then need it later, they’ll just buy it again. They don’t need to carry much else besides a wallet when they’re out and about; if they need something, they’ll just buy it on the fly. No sweat. If you’re not so well-off, however, having duplicates of your possessions can be necessary, even if such back-ups ruin the aesthetics of owning just 100 possessions. "

http://www.artofmanliness.com/2014/07/31/the-problem-with-minimalism/

* * * *

i myself identify as a minimalist, and yes, maybe i can afford to replace things but not because i was rich to begin with. my relative financial freedom is a consequence of being a minimalist. sana ma-gets yun ng ibang tao. ang hirap i-explain sa kanila in real life. haha!

yes it is a cycle... you dont buy a lot of things, you get to save... when the need arises, you have money  for the necessary purchase.

for me, this kind of lifestyle can still be achieved even if you are not (yet) rich... provided that you also simplify your life at the same time. ;-)

Goal ko na staring today. I have a hard time resisting to buy things. Nasananay kasi ako nung bata na pag may event sa school, or birthday or Christmas, bago yung clothes. In a one week vacation, siguro mga 3 pcs dun, bago. Good thing, minimalist living si hubby. Walang bili bili. Years and inaabot before magshopping.

Eto na mentality ko dapat.
