I need to get back to this. Nagawa ko na to late 2011 and 2012 but medyo went back to my old ways a little - yung pagiging impulsive buyer. It helps na medyo tamad na ako mag-mall and mag-online shopping, even eBay. I need to be more financially responsible lalo.

Sa ibang bigay minimalist ako, like the furniture and house accessories.

Hi Sisses! Has anyone here tried minimalism on clothes and accessories? Shoes, bags and cute tops are always nice to have, but not-so nice when they start to own you, or if you feel like you have "nothing" to wear. Project 333 -- has been a successful project for fashionistas and minimalistas alike. Project 333. 33 items of clothing (underwear, sportswear and lounge wear not counted) for 3 months. Doing more with less. I've been doing it for 3 cycles, anyone here doing this too?

We're constantly trying to be minimalist on everything. For clothes, I think we've reached our goal already.
My husband wears unifrom in the office, so he needs a few shirts for weekends, he keeps at most 10pcs and 5-6 pcs combination of pants and shorts and 3 pairs of shoes (not for office use)
For me since we dont have uniform in the office (but we do nt have a dress code either), I'm managing with about 15-20pcs tops, 6-10 pcs combination of pants, shorts and skirts and 5 pairs of shoes.
My son, since he's always at home, he can manage to have a 10-15 t-shirts and shorts for weekend school, 1 maong pants and a pair of sandals at a time.

@pawee, I'm trying out into-mind.com's strategy. Meron sya dun about developing your signature style, color palette, etc.

I have few clothes now, pero feeling ko, I need to put some thought into the clothes I wear. Na lahat gusto ko talagang suotin and yung maganda talaga.

Baka mas sustainable for me, na if everything looks good on me, sa 'uniform' ko, I'll settle with that.

I wear my clothes until they fall part. lol You dont need to do that naman basta keep the clutter to a minimum. I was guilty of buying make-up and stuff when I should be investing in healthy foods and well fitting, good quality clothes. I have a long way to go but I want to succeed in this because being minimalist (paunti unti )really refreshes me.

Hi. Good thing nabasa ko tong thread na to, reminded me na I need to get rid and donate my books (college)... pero kailangan ng tiempo, mahirap kasi if iba iba kayo ng views ng mga kasama mo sa bahay. I'm still residing with my parents and siblings.

I want to practice minimalist living for so long, but I often fail.
And this year, I started with our house.  I try to minimize yung gamit sa bahay, especially sa kitchen, kung ano lang yung kailangan at madalas nagagamit, yun lang ang meron.  Walang decorations, bare white walls. Wala din figurines or any display na mag-accumulate ng dust.  Mejo nahihirapan kami sa books and reading materials.

been doing this for a long time... i just hope my family will be influenced by my way of living now..
doing this mostly for my wardrobe, household expenditures, appliances (especially on near obsolete use-the term haha) and the getup when I go to work/hangouts/spend my leisure time..

hoping my partner will be inspired too, impulsive buyer kasi sya and sometimes it's irritating syempre but somehow lessen na..

i just need to work on the bodega area of our house, really want to swipe and clean out all the clutter of my dad, i just don't know how will junk shops wipe them off out literally and in an instant lol... happy that my sister is in favor of the "minimalist living" I am promoting at home...

My husband is somehow minimalist, like for gadgets, clothes, shoes and other stuff. He seldom buy but when he buys I find it bit expensive. Like last year, he did not buy any personal items for himself, but before year ended, we went to this Lacoste shop and he spent like 30k+ for perfume, shoes and watch (including my perfume too ;D).

You can donate your books to Hernando Guanlao's street public library in Makati (1454 Balagtas St., Barangay La Paz, Makati City). That's what my mom did when she downsized her home that used to be full of books.

Hay, I get so stressed kapag tinatambakan ako ng mga used things ng mga relatives ko. They're gifts, yes, supposedly, but my small house cannot accommodate them all! Wala akong storage! Hay, saan ko ba ipaglalalagay itong mga used spoons and forks, old clothes, old shoes, and furniture. I see another round of decluttering coming up very soon.

Haaay... ang goal ko less shopping for things, more shopping for food. :)

Pero one thing lang na binawasan ko eh ang pag sosocialize, kase nga this takes a lot from me, time, effort and of course emotions. Pag masmaraming kaibigan mas maraming sakit ng ulo. Mas maraming events, mas maraming gastos. So I had learned to say No to some of the small event, kung hindi rin lang naman talaga importante hindi ako aatend. Mejo dapat bawasan naten to lalo na pag may family na.

I just realized I have so many stilettos and matataas na takong na sandals ang nakatago lang at di nagagamit. Bakit? Iba kasi shape ng paa ko sa bandang ilalim which makes a lot of effort talaga when naka-high heels ako.

The reason why I have so many stilettos: dahil abay ako lagi sa mga kasal ng friends at kakilala. Parang mala-cinderella ba.

I'm now thinking how to take care of these shoes. e once a year lang nasusuot, yung iba once in a blue moon lang kapag may okasyon.
