I seldom watch shows on tv, I do that on my laptop, nag-invest lang ako sa internet connection, pero I use it for work so it's fine.
I have a basic wardrobe -grey shirts, black long sleeve shirts and black pants- I plan on adding blazer and buying 1 pump shoes -parang emmanuel alt- para minsan di naman magmukhang college student lang. I only have 1 bag pero it's convertible. Tapos I use 5 makeup on my face; concealer, powder, red matte lipstick, eyeliner and eyebrow powder. I'm not satisfied I end buying more creams. Invest na lang sa dermatologist and vitamins. As for gadgets I'm lucky enough na I have a sibling na mahilig mag-upgrade. He gave me his old iphone and samsung tab -I use it to read ebooks-
And I don't have credit card. When I need something pinagiipunan ko muna talaga. I need to work on my eating habits lang. Magastos ako kumain. I mean I eat a lot  ;D

I am currently on a "decluttering mode" sa room ko. What I did last week was ni-sort out ko yung mga stuffs na need ko ng iconsume before expiry para at least hindi sayang, like lotion.

After kong madeclutter yung unnecessary things, general rule: "I won't buy clothes and shoes anymore, unless SUPER kailangan talaga."

I started practising a minimalist lifestyle in college when I moved out of our family house.

Now that I'm married and only my husband & I sharing the house, we only keep the bare essentials at home. We only buy tasteful yet good quality furniture that we NEED.

We have moved to a bigger house because we like big spaces where we could freely move around, but we have not filled it with unnecessary stuff. We've also kept the walls bare white kasi nakakakalma when we come home after a stressful day at work. Although we're considering putting up a tastefully-made huge mirror on one wall para mas magmukhang spacious.

We don't like buying trinkets and figurines. Nakakadagdag lang sa cleaning time. Since we keep our house simple, mas madaling maglinis at hindi namin kailangan mag-hire ng maid na puwede lang maka-stress sa amin. Besides, we don't like having strangers living with us in our home.

This minimalist living provides us with enough time & resources to do the things we actually love.  ☺

good for you... that is our struggle. it seems that we're the only one (among our peers and family) who is in this path, kaya mas mahirap para sa amin mag-maintain ng ganitong lifestyle. ;-)

I'm accepting the MINIMALIST LIVING CHALLENGE! I'm living with my parents and old aunt and ang DAMI naming KALAT! Maraming hindi ginagamit. Marami nakatambak. Mukhang ang first to-do list ko is de-cluttering. I'm into this. Kaya ko to! :-)

tama yang mga figurine na yan. :) Dagdag alikabok at kalat lang yan  for me ha.

Medyo challenged ako sa mga damit ngayon since I am hooked to buying stuff online. Naipamigay ko na ang mga lumang damit ko and starting to purchase new ones kaso parang hindi ko macontrol. haha.

What an inspiring thread!
Great job, girls...

I want to switch mode to minimalist kind of living na din.
Less kalat and less gastos na din.

Oops. I think kapag bibili ka ng toys for your kiddos, dapat pala magagamit din in the future. :-)

I'm into minimalist living.  I have a friend na pumupunta dito sa house sabi niya bilib siya sa akin dahil hindi napupuno ang house ko. lolz.  I don't see the point na mag collect ng kung ano ano unless it's something na may value in the future.

I started decluttering things at home. I have 2 boxes and labeled them (for throwing) and (for recycling - mga useful things pa na pwedeng ipamigay sa iba). Pag may nakikita akong things at home na hindi naman talaga namin kailangan, i just drop them to the boxes.

@melmedrano, I can relate. My side of the family is minimalist. Pero yung my husband's family, ang daming tanong
- bakit wala kayong cable
- bakit wala kayong "sala"
- bakit di kayo bumili ng ganito/ ganyan

Yung tone ng questions, medyo parang nagtataka na parang there's something wrong with us. Sometimes, they buy for us the things they think we need. Kaso, the stuff just collect dust in the house, proof that we don't really need it.

Kami wala rin kami cable internet lang :) wala masyado nanonood tv pag umaga tapos more on news at 2 telenovela for my lola, wala din mga figurine na inaalikabok lang, For those hindi maarte sa tubig kami nakakainom directly sa gripo kahit walang salaan potable for drinking naman sya mostly ng kapit bahay namin nagpapdeliver laki din ng tipid. take note wala pang nagkakasakit sa amin na related sa tubig dito sa bahay.

^ iNGGIT AKO. Buti pa kayo no need for mineral water. Ako kasi, hindi pwede. Kapag naka-inom ako tap water, nagkaka-amoeba ako. :-( Kaya super ingat din ako. Last na nagka-amoeba ko was a disaster. I was in Boracay at hindi ko na-enjoy ang remaining 2 days ko sa boracay dahil nakainom ako ng not-so-good water.  :-(

I decided to prepare three boxes. I-oorganize ko sya lahat then itatapon yung mga sira-sira nya. He's crying when I'm telling him I'll give this to a child. :-( Cars kasi fave nya at lahat puro cars na toys nya...

sis rae, hirap noh? feeling ko nga minsan yung pagiging minimalist ko is like a sickness... hindi na normal... halos lahat nagtataka at na-w-weird-an siguro sa akin, lalo na dito sa office. karamihan kasi ng mga kasama ko dito, they still get excited to buy a lot of stuff and still want to buy more after a huge shopping spree (kahit gasgas na ang CC)... ako hindi na. parang nalampasan ko na yung ganung stage. bihira na lang ako magkaroon ng "wants", at usually nasa "investment" category yung mga nagugustuhan ko.

@melmedrano, I don't think it's a sickness naman. Maybe it is, when you're more focused on reducing your stuff instead of doing it to be able to focus on the more important things in life which is the main objective of being a minimalist in the first place.

Dati parang every sweldo may naiisip akong bilhin. Ngayon, I still buy stuff I don't need like makeup and skin care pero I notice na nagagamit ko na sila.
