i think minimalist na ako noon pa...di ako gaanong gumagastos kung di naman kailangan talaga..simple living, wika nga. di rin ako mahilig magtabi ng kung ano ano..kapag more than four pairs na ang shoes..pamigay na ang iba..ayoko kasi ng maraming clutter sa bahay.

I like the idea of simple living. I like everything to be zen-like and I dislike clutter.

To start with, I don't splurge that much on material things. I'd spend on adventures and trips though and invest more on having GREAT experiences.

Minimalist living frees the mind, frees us from the trappings of material world, and allows us to focus on what are essentials.

I've been meaning for a minimalist living for so long as we have been facing financial hardship because of splurging with unnececessary things. Thanks for sharing your stories and I will plan to have a blog too about this. I wanted to do this specially now that we are establishing a family, taking care of our 1 year old daughter and since my husband is unemployed.

I think we have to do this after our wedding on the 19th of this month. I'm really itching to do this soon! Ngayon palang iniisip ko na mga ipamimigay ko. Hehe. Ako kasi mas maraming gamit na hindi naman kailangan compared to my husband.

I've been into this minimalist style of living for quite some time.  And now pati wedding ko nagiging minimalist na rin!  I can't helped it!  Eversince talaga iniisip/ pinaplano ko na pag ako ang ikakasal--i deserve all the shebang, the frills.  But it's not turning that way.  Anlaki na lang talaga ng impluwensya ng pagiging minimalist ko. Imagine my wedding invites--one page, pearl white, letterpressed. and a few lines! LOLs

Minimalist living doesn't mean cheap. Andami kong nababasang post na gustong maging minimalist dahil walang ganito ganyan. Hindi po ganun ang meaning ng minimalist.

@showermist, I agree. Minimalism doesn't mean frugal or cheap. It's more quality over quantity. In the end, it's more minimalist to buy one item of good quality, than to buy several items that doesn't really deliver and you end up with a lot of stuff.

I can already imaging your wedding invite. I think it looks sophisticated.

nag pa bless na kami ng house namin which we swear to be minimalist and simple lang... we received a lot of compliments from our guests and living there is so much easy... madaling linisin, madaling kumilos kasi walang naiisip na clutter at very peaceful din.

this coming christmas, im thinking of giving my inaanaks food items as gifts, para hindi na rin sila magipon ng mga kung [textspeak!] anong regalong aalikabukin lang pag tumagal. ganun na rin ang mga request kong gift just incase na may nag tatanong sa akin, mga consumable items na lang or experiences I can share with my family and friends... hindi na material things.

^^ same thing here sis. With my daughter naman, I plan to tell the ninongs and ninangs to just give diaper and milk for my daughter. Ayoko na ng laruan kasi nagkakalat lang sa room namin, ang hirap linisin. Iniisip ko na rin itabi yung mga laruan na hindi ginagamit, or ibigay sa mga pamagkin ko.

tsaka hindi naman nalalaro lahat yun. my hubby also wants to dispose the table we have in our bedroom. panay kalat lang naman daw ang laman ng mga drawer. haha. true.

ako rin ayoko na maglagay ng table sa bedroom... ma-e-enganyo lang kami mag lagay ng kung [textspeak!]-ano hanggang sa maging kalat na... hehe

panay kalat lang talaga ang nasa table at sa mga drawer. delikado pa sa baby namin lalo na ngayon na naglalakad lakad na, sumusuot sa ilalim ng table.

kami din may toddler kaya dapat laging walang kalat... at konti lang lang gamit para iwas untog. hehe

The best part is, kaya mo maglinis ng kwarto o bahay ng sobrang bilis.

mga sis, anong ginagawa niyo sa toys ng baby niyo? yun kasi ang hirap na hirap akong linisin.

^give away those that are not appropriate for her age na if you're aiming to be a minimalist.  Mababawasan 'kalat' sa bahay mo, may mapapasaya ka pang ibang bata. 
For the remaining toys, you can always put them in a box na y pwedeng itago  after she's done playing. At para maturuan mo rin syang iimis yung mga laruan nya pagkatapos.

Ganito ang ginagawa namin sa mga bata sa school.  They can tidy (read: classify) up toys in less than 5minutes and leave the room clean and neat.

Kung linisin ang toys per piece, you can just dump all of it in a dettol with water. Leave it for a few minutes then wipe dry na lang or sun dry.  If you don't have dettol, may mga ecofriendly na antibacterial.

If your kid naman has those wooden toys, wipe it off lang with damp cloth.  Mabilis daw malinis ang mga toys na gawa sa kahoy--parang natural antibacterial yata tawag dun. diko tanda yung right term.
