Yui_21 and ayionick, it's not as expensive as you think! =) there was a promo when we booked the trip. airfare is fixed yata at 15k, plus 34k per person for the accomodation for 2 nights... all in all it was only 50k per person. sa totoo lang parang mas mahal lang ng konti sa el nido =) that comes with free breakfast, one free lunch, and a massage =)
kikay iska, yes that's right, like what i said... the beach is same lang with the other islands in coron. pero yung convenience, service, etc is really different. even if you buy an island, our government can't provide it with electricity and water naman, just like the situation of almost all the islands in palawan. only the main islands and those habitated wih a large population yung na-aawardan ng gobyerno ng mga ganoon. kaya nga most of the resorts there, may kuryente lang from 6PM to 6Am because they are running on generator lang, except for the high ends ones na yun nga you'd have to pay more, consequently.
freeswan is right, even in amanpulo, they transport their goods from manila and from the island across. sa plane, kami lang yung tao plus a few personnel and they were carrying fresh flowers (most probably for the dining tables). they grow some produce sa island but it is not enough. even the electricity in amanpulo, generator lang. all the time! and of course kahit 2 lang kayo sa clubhouse, they'd have to light up the whole place. kahit nga walang tao pa.
even their tennis court, nakabantay lang dun yung trainor. you can have free lessons or play tennis with him kung wala kang kasama. and he is not just someone who can play tennis... he is from the Philippine team. Ganun din sa free yoga nila, they hired a Swedish yoga master that they hired pa talaga from Sweden (I hope I got the nationality and country right). Most of their staff, at least yung mga humaharap sa guests, are college graduates from Manila, hindi basta-basta empleyado. They can speak better English than I do. hehe! And I saw a lot of other nationalities pa who work there. Siguro they entertain naman yung mga ka-lahi nila. Parang all the works, they run the 80-hectare resort.... for siguro around 50 guests lang at any given day. That's why I always always say after na, "now I understand." and again, feeling ko nga lugi pa sila sa binayad namin. hehe.
If given the opportunity nga lang, I would really really want to try the other Aman resorts in other parts of the world! I can't say no to that. =)
