^what if the girl is already 30? tapos 5 years na magka-relasyon. what would be the reason for a guy not to propose yet?

^ same reasons. Kahit matanda na at lahat if hindi pa fully prepared mahirap pumasok.

Wala ata sa age ang preparedness ng guy to propose. Kung di sya ready then hindi talaga thats the bitter truth

^aw that hurts nga talaga, i'm starting to realize that now. grabe lang kahit yata umabot ng 40 si guy kung hindi pa talaga sya ready walang mangyayari. haha! oh well. kawawa naman ang girl, kasi sabi nga nila di ba kapag lumagpas ng 30 ang babae mahirap na magbuntis, sana nacoconsider ng mga guys to. palibhasa kasi mga guys kahit tanders na yata pwede pa rin makabuo! hehe

I asked my BF this question, he used to be married.  He said, kaya lang daw sya nagpropose, kase ang tagal na nilang magjowa, hindi naman sila naghihiwalay, so ayun.  And yung mga friends at kamaganak daw panay kantyaw na.  Not the best reason to propose, no wonder wala na sila ngayon :P

What triggers men to propose - when they realize they want to spend the rest of their life with that woman; if he can't imagine life without her. Or her with another man.

What triggers men not to propose - if he's not that into her. Kahit ilang years pa umabot ang relationship.

I think it's more of timing. Dumadating talaga yata for most guys yung time na gusto na nila magsettle. Men usually marry the one they're with pag umabot sila sa point na ready na sila.

^While that may be true; I see a lot of young couples who are so into each other, andun yung thought ni guy na he can't live without the girl, na he thinks forever na sila, but they still don't end up together in the end because of the circumstances they're in -- bata pa, walang ipon, walang stable work, marami pang gustong gawin, etc.

Most guys decide to get married given the right person and right circumstance.

Top reason for me is right girl. Ang dami ng ganyan in history where after long years of being together eh hindi pa rin "ready" si guy but really he just does not want to marry that girl. Or kaya sasabihin na he just does not believe in marriage but next thing you know, ikakasal din pala sa ibang girl.

Triggered to propose: the girl is pregnant na.

hello gels and gals, update ko lang kayo. he finally proposed to me! hehe! when i asked him why just now, he said a lot of factors. one of it is that he just wants to be sure he's ready in such a way na kapag tinanong nya sakin yung big question e hindi ako magdadalawang isip, parang ganun. haha! i think i understand him naman, nasa guy talaga ang pressure pagdating sa ganitong phase ng relationship. so happy! i guess this answers the question as to what triggers a man to propose for a marriage. :)

^ It's not that hard to get married and be married.  Depende nalang sa couple if compatible and if they work as a team I think.

I suppose a man would propose if he really loves the woman so much so that he can't imagine his life without her.  Another possible reason especially for the conservatives would be the age factor, which I think is the reason why my husband proposed to me in the first place.
I don't look tanders but it doesn't change the fact that the clock was ticking and now we have kids and I am not happy haha  Ibang issue na ito, good luck girl.

^re: your last input

Depende sa guy yan.kung sobrang love ka nun guy kahit ano pang kapintasan mo pakakasalan ka pa rin. In my case, sabi ng hubs ko nun bago kami nagsettle down, sabi nya kahit daw nagmumura ako di daw sya nataturn off sakin kasi mas tinitignan nya yun good sides of me at tingin naman daw nya capable ako maghandle ng family..then years later kusa na lang ako nagbago. Dati palaaway ako sa socmed.nakakahiya talaga. Yun asawa ko lagi on defense.

So for me that's a reason.Meron akong kilala 10 years plus sila... they broke up and after magkaroon ng bang karelasyon married na sila ngayon.

Yung iba hindi pa ready in terms of ....lahat ng aspect ng buhay nila.
Pwede din naman na hindi na nila mahal yung partner nila and they are just waiting for them to fall apart.. Masakit pero totoo.

Meron naman iba na talaga sure na sure na sa feelings nila kaya kahit less than a year palang propose na agad.

It's all about the feelings and all about readiness. :)

It's really up to the guy and his willingness  to settle down.  You wouldn't want to be married to a guy who is not ready to commit. 3 years down the road and he will just find side-women and sleep around.

We were together for 8 years before he proposed. I guess we are both ready na by that time - spiritually, emotionally and financially.

So what triggers them to pop the question - readiness. Hindi naman biro ang pag-aasawa. Let alone the preparations. Sobrang magastos. You also have to be financially secured para sa wedding and the life after. :)
