  • indeed there are things that we cannot control in life.  but there are so much more that we can control, focus on that.

take responsibility for my own life.

be decisive.  the results are rarely fatal.

^ That's so true. The more time we allot on the stuff we can't control, the less time we have on doing something with the stuff we can control.

Always choose your battles. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Be down-to-earth and humble. You'll never know when the tide will turn.

Nalaman ko na hindi nakamamatay ma-heartbroken.  ;D Namatayan ako ng bf bago ikasal, ended a 7-year relationship, may mga dumating at mga umalis... sobrang sakit na para kang mamamatay pero hanggang ngayon, buhay na buhay parin ako. ;)

love with all your might but know when to stop. leave something to yourself so in case they leave, you still have something. better to have a little something than have nothing at all.

in life, i have learned a lot .or i must say, i learned the hard way. sabi ng former supervisor ko, "do not compromise your relationship over your career ever again.while it is true that we all need to work because of money, at the end of the day, it is still your family that you go home to." i almost, or should i say, we almost lost "our" relationship. buti na lang nakapag-isip-isip pa ako and had time to weigh things. kasi kung hindi, malamang hiwalay na kami ngayon at mag-isa na naman ako. and i also realized, i may not have the "perfect" husband, pero i have a perfect "knight in shining armor" naman. kasi through thick and thin, kami lang talaga ang magkakampi eh. siya rin ang tagapagtanggol ko. sabi nga niya, siya daw ang robin padilla ng buhay ko! hahahah baduy pero tuwing naririnig ko sa kanya anglinyang yan, talagang kinikilig ako. at isa pa, learn to live by your means. ginagawa ko na or namin ito. start kami to pay off debt, then save big time. :D

WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOCIE. When I started working naging breadwinner ako sa buong pamilya and I thought yun talaga ang papel ko sa buhay. After 6 years I stood my ground and sinabi ko sa family ko na I'm not getting any younger, I need to save up for my future narin. From then on I just gave my mom a fixed amout na kelangan nya i-budget. Yung mga brothers ko hindi ko na binibigyan consistently, pag may emergencies na lang. Kasi they can work na naman pero they just choose not to or naggi-give up kaagad. Yung mom ko rin before, she threatened me na babawiin daw ni God sakin ang mga blessings dahil di ko na binibigay sa kanya lahat ng sweldo ko. Haha. So again, WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE.

Wag kaagad-agad magpadala sa awa. Yung mga relatives or friends na nagungutang, isiping mabuti kung ready ka to part with that amount sakaling hindi magbayad si relative. Most of the time hindi talaga sila nagbabayad kaya mas mabuting wag magpautang or ibigay na lang and wag na expect ng bayad. Kundi mai-stress ka lang.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?*

You can let your kid live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person. The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

That it's somewhat racist to accuse a race of being racist.
